We seem to be on a par with 06/07 which was a great year.
Wins at home against Blackpool, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, wins away at Reading & West Ham.

I just can't wait for this season to continue after the international break.

Also posted this on the QSF thread but here may be a better place.
I have had a look back at QSF's last season in charge. Of the games we have left he took 38 points last time around (substituting Burnley,Brighton and Sheffield Utd for Sunderland,Stoke and Swansea). This would give us 39 points against his previous achievement of 45.
He needs to hit the ground running and improve on last time if his appointment is to help us. I am not optimistic.

I may as well post this now...

    The current position is:
    • 11 points worse than this time last year (1 vs 12). This is the same as after the last game.
    • 3 points worse than the comparable fixtures last year (1 vs 4). This is the same as after the last game
    • 4 points worse than the '40 point' line (1 vs 5). This is 1 points worse than after the last game.

    YES!

I take some of the credit for the turnaround from my pessimistic post after we went 2-0 down!

    The real position is...

    The current position is:
    • 10 points worse than this time last year (2 vs 12). This is 1 points better than after the last game.
    • 2 points worse than the comparable fixtures last year (2 vs 4). This is 1 points better than after the last game.
    • 3 points worse than the '40 point' line (2 vs 5). This is the same as after the last game

Blackpool definitely weren't in the Premier League that season.

Pool/Burn same difference. Both Northern **** holes.

Actually I take that back I once saw a pigeon decapitated by a tram in Blackpool. That was quite amusing.

I've fed the updated results into Meistertron 2000
18% of the way in we're 5 points down on last year. This extrapolates to nearly 28 points down by the end of the season. Last season we scored 50 so I predict 22 points at the end.

Thing is I can't see where we will get 22 points from the remaining 31 games.

Currently WBA have the record at 34 points being the lowest tally to avoid relegation.

Too optimistic surely? 2 points from 7 games multiplies up to 11 points for the season. Far more achievable.

Ah the mathematical model vs the previous form model.

Maybe we could use a hybrid method with some averaging? shall we settle on 20 or 19?

I also think we should overlay a drop in form for the last few games. So maybe 15 points?

Still comfortably above Derby’s lowest total.

1 point closer to our final points tally:

    The current position is:
    • 10 points worse than this time last year (3 vs 13). This is 1 points better than after the last game.
    • 7 points worse than the comparable fixtures last year (3 vs 10). This is 2 points worse than after the last game.
    • 5 points worse than the '40 point' line (3 vs 8). This is the same as after the last game

Maybe I should add a ‘Derby’ line?

    ....

we are currently behind Derby by 2 points after this game. We are playing catch up !

We are breaking records all over at the moment.

    Here are the ones:

    • Joint worst F.A Cup Final Loss
    • Joint worst winless run as a Premiership Club (If we don't beat Spurs that's another one smashed!!)
    • Worst points tally to the start of the season as a Premiership Club
    • Fastest Premier League goal scored against us (vs. Southampton H)
    • First team ever to be 5-0 down so quickly (vs. Man City)
    • Largest Premier League defeat in our history as a Premiership Club.

    WATFORD FC = RECORD BREAKERS*

Life feels really good being a hornet at the moment doesn't it? ;)

What is our worse start to a season?

And what is the longest we've gone without a win..?

This season must run both close!!

This is possibly our worst? If we don't beat Spuds it will be worse than the 99\00 season.

1990/91 was the season that began with Colin Lee as manager and ended with the greatest of great escapes under Perryman. We started with 6 (SIX) straight home defeats, followed by three draws before winning at the tenth attempt. It was also the season which included the horrendous 4-1 cup defeat at Shrewsbury. Hands up anyone else who was there that day.

In a way the "comparable" chart is encouraging. It seems to suggest a bit that we have started with harder matches than last year. If we got the same results from comparable games for the rest of the season we would end up 6 points down on last year. 44 points would not be bad.

One other thing I didn’t spot is that we have the same number of points as 84/85 when we survived.
