    I think its good, all it takes is for them to get a manager (e.g. Dowie) that is to put it nicely, carp in and then thats another team that could go down, giving us more chance of survival;

    17 Watford
    18 West Ham United
    19 Charlton Atheletic
    20 Sheffield United

Pardew sacked as West Ham manager
    West Ham boss Alan Pardew
Pardew's reign at Upton Park is over
Alan Pardew has been sacked as manager of West Ham.

The Hammers are in 18th place in the Premiership following a run of three straight defeats culminating in Saturday's 4-0 thrashing at Bolton.

"Alan has made an important contribution since joining in September 2003 but this season's results have been disappointing," said a statement.

"Chairman Eggert Magnusson and the board feel it is the right time to make a change in the club's best interests."

The statement continued: "The search for a successor is now underway in order that a new manager can be in place ahead of the January transfer window.

    606: DEBATE
Does Pardew deserve this? I think the West Ham board have made a mistake

    SD
    606: Have your say

"First-team coach Kevin Keen will take temporary charge of team affairs until a new appointment has been made.

"No further statements on this matter will be made by the club before that time."

Former Charlton boss Alan Curbishley has been installed as the early favourite to succeed Pardew.

Following a disappointing start to the season, the Hammers were briefly boosted when a consortium led by Magnusson completed a £85m takeover, with the team winning their next match against Sheffield united.

But three successive Premiership defeats have followed, leaving the club languishing deep in the relegation zone.

Harsh I think as I'd blame the players more than Pardew.

Agree, think its harsh on Pardew, I do think the blame should go on the players, They have got a captian that wants to leave the club, that can't help moral.

    bye bye

Aidy - will he be on the Icelandic wanted list?

How much compensation will we take and I'd be happy for Pardew to step into Aidys shoes.

Seriously though, I wonder if Aidy would talk to them if enquired and the board said its ok.

Bad for us, new manager normally kicks the team up the a**e and they get results.
Bad also as a good mate of mine and mad Wet Spam fan told me Friday night Pardew will be sacked early in the week. He also went on to say Sven will be the new manager this is a done deal and he's bringing in David Beckham on loan in January.
He was very drunk but he's just called me to say "see told you" He's got 1 out of the 3 right so far?

Absolutely barmy decision by West Ham. If they'd have left Pardew be he'd have built up a solid base there in time - although a repeat of last year was unlikely.

On the West Ham boards, fansites and on the radio a majority of West Ham fans are upset/annoyed.

So where've all the fans that have been calling for his head gone?

Before promotion, and then the Cup final they all wanted him out.

Maybe the chance of SGE as manager had made them change their minds!!

I think it is a little unfair given the Tevez/Mascherano incident and the takeover malarkey. But hey, there isn't much loyalty in football.

    (except for fans..)

this is turning out to be very bad news for us. Curbishley's a shoo in to replace pardew and is going to lift everyone. i think they've got Man U next, with Curbishley in charge i wouldnt rule out an emotional win.

and he won't have trouble attracting players to the club in the way we will.

Certainly could be bad news for us, lets just hope he does a 'dowie' so to speak and leaves them in even more trouble.

I wasn't referring to Pardew, I was just saying that the manager that did so well for them, got screwed over by the Argies incident and now has been sacked. A little unfair in my opinion.
