Hmm, nicknamed "the Korean Van Dijk." Shows our lack of ambition. If we had any intent on being successful, we'd only buy players who Van Dijk was nicknamed the "Dutch version of." Typical cheapskate possumz.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...sing-monster-south-korea-defender-kim-min-jae Now linked with Everton (along with ourselves and Southampton). It could be agent talk with the Chinese league suspended until winter and the club seemingly now prepared to sell/keen to cash in. If he was any cop we should have signed him when we seemingly had the chance last summer.
Looking more and more likely that this won’t go ahead with PSV and Southampton both interested in him. PSV are coached by Roger Schmidt, who signed Kim Min-jae at Beijing Guoan from the K-League, while his no.2 while at Beijing, Richard Kitzbichler, now coaches at Southampton. It would be great to sign him, but seems we’re no longer the only club linked.
No doubt. Middlesbrough are heading towards league one so can't see him there if relegated. He was a 15m signing a few seasons back. Strange how far he's gone backwards considering Dyche usually develops them .
I doubt they'll go down, Hull are in absolute freefall, and they have a bit of a gap to the bottom two. Would be a good signing, though I could see him go back to his boyhood club as long as they don't go down to League 1
Tinpot. Who wants to play with Ronaldo when you can play with Louza. Watford are levels above Juventus. Once we add Hauge, Danilo, Doig, Ferguson, Borre and Nketiah. He will be regretting the day he turned us down to go play with De Ligt, Chiesa, Dybala and so on.
Yes I saw that too. But this journalist doesn’t have much of a following and is not from either the player’s home nation, the nation of his current club or the nation of his linked club. So while there may be something in it, that’s generally not particularly convincing.
Buzzing. Love missing out on quality players in positions we need for small amounts of money to clubs we should be as attractive as. #5MoreYearsForCathcartPleaseGino
Strange that we didn't look to get this done a couple of years ago. Definitely would have improved us, which wouldn't have been that hard admittedly.
Bumping this thread to say this guy turned out to be class. Good thing we got Rose and Tufan instead. Sent from my moto g(8) power using Tapatalk
I don't know if we decided against signing him or just never wanted him, but shortly after these rumours we extended Cathcart's deal and then did the same with Kabasele a year later. Doing business properly.
Giraldi did an interview the other day and said we did actually bid for him but there was a deal already in place with the side in China he moved to. We tried to gazump but both him and his club decided to honour the agreement already in place. Also said we were very close to signing Tomori after his loan at Derby in 18/19, but went for "other options instead". Considering the only CB we signed that season was Dawson, I assume he was the other option.
