Anybody heard anything? I've heard via a third party that he might be off to Italy. No garage was involved.

Rumours are that he’s off to Udinese on loan.

As if they don’t hate us enough.

Loan is ok as I would love to keep him.
I have a sneaky feeling he's going to destroy the Championship for us next season.

I know...I just read that and was going to put it on here.......I nearly choked on my coffee when I read Sema was Chelsea's backup plan.

However, he's done very well at Udinese, so the loan has worked out for him. Not sure he really wants to come back to Watford, but from what I saw of him, unless he's developed greatly, is that he's only really Championship standard. But I did like him as a player. Very wholehearted and committed. Always tried his best.

Get King Ken back. He will do really well at Championship level - whether he wants to come back is a different question. I am also looking forward to seeing Willmot back with us. Had a decent season at Swansea, and looks like a whole-hearted player.

Wholehearted is what's needed in the Championship though. Noticed they've even moved inside of a midfield 5. Hopefully he has improved if he does return. Can't see it though seems pretty happy there.

He was shipped out because he didn't fit 4222. If we stick with 433 / 4231 then he will be a good fit. The question is are we going to stick with a plan and recruit for it, or are we going for the usual summer scattergun.

Sod that, 'wholehearted' is what we need now! If any of our players (with exception of Will Hughes) showed any effort we'd have been safe a long time ago!

Does strike me as a player who would do well in the Championship, so I'd like to see him back, but if Inter and Chelsea are legitimately interested, and we can get a healthy fee for him, I'd be happy with that too

How? He's not really enough of a goal threat to be one of the wide forwards in a 4-3-3.

It's silly season. He would definitely be an asset in the Championship. Not sure I'd want him starting every game. It looks like Udinese utilise him in the center of midfield. Has a good engine, possible replacement for Doucoure? I'd want someone more 'talented' in an attacking position.

Unless I’m losing my marbles he’s a winger, how does he not fit a 433?

Because as I mentioned in the post you quoted, in a 4-3-3 the wide players aren't so much traditional wingers as wide forwards - in a 4-3-3 teams are reliant on the two wide players to also be a goal threat to help compensate for having one less centre forward.

In a 4-3-3 the wide players tend to more often drift off the touchline to try and score, as opposed to in a 4-4-2 where the wingers are more likely to hug the touchline and cross. In a 4-3-3 the wide players are also given a bit more freedom to be attack-minded and are slightly less burdened by defensive duties as wingers in a 4-4-2.

Wide forwards in 4-3-3s now tend to be as high scoring as many if not all centre-forwards. They have become perhaps the most important positions on the football pitch with the most talented players and the most competition - it's where Liverpool have Mane and Salah, City have Sterling and Mahrez, Utd have Rashford and Greenwood, etc. etc. For us it's where we currently have (or did have) Deulofeu and Sarr.

Sema is not attack minded enough, significant enough of a goal threat, or talented enough to play in that role to a high enough level, even in the Championship, it would be a waste of a valuable area of the pitch. It would only ever really be an option if you wanted to play an ultra-defensive 4-3-3, more like a 4-5-1 I guess, in rare games or moments where you didn't care much about scoring and just wanted to try not to concede.

Inter and Brighton also interested mind you, two clubs who would no doubt be attractive to Sema. Would like to keep him, I'm sure he'd be a very useful player for us in the Championship, but if we can get a good price for him, I'm fine with him leaving

Don't no much about how the guy did for Udinese, and he did not overly impress me in the few games he played for us. Therefore if we get a good price for him I would not be unhappy to see him go, there again if he has improved his game, then he might just be a cheap way of improving our team in "The Chump"?

    I quite like 'Cuddly'.
Seems to have done well in Udine.
I'd have Naomi Osaka back too,if matches are reduced to twenty minutes.

Sema would be fine in the Championship, but he's such an uninspiring player. I'd rather he were somewhere else.

Totally agree. He's a great pro, and seeing as he did so well at Udinese, which is a league slightly above the standard of the Championship, he would be an excellent squad player for the coming season.

They've been impressed with him. He's moved inside to a more central midfield too and done a job. More than happy to have him back but believe he will still be there next season.
