I'm seeing red flags exploding in my head all over the page reading that:

    > 'Nigeria international'
    > 'Can play centrally in midfield, out wide and at left back'
    > 'Rangers star'
    > '25'

I’ve watched every game of his career and can advise that he’s a step up from Hughes and Louza, a step sideways from Cathcart and Sissoko and a step down from Gray, WTE and that other lad we got from Rangers.

I look forward to linking this comment in a completely irrelevant fashion in six months or so.

I think he’d start for us. Along with Kent and Tavernier he has been Rangers’ best player the last few years. Connor Goldson is “not crap but half-decent at best.” Aribo is good.

He would be an excellent signing.

Given you've studied him so comprehensively, can you confirm whether he drifts in from the left or the right, or indeed drifts out from the middle. Ta.

Think we will agree to disagree on this one. Outside of a very small handful of players to have impressed in the SPL (VVD, Robertson, Larson), I don’t really think any player can be labelled as anything other than half-decent before they play a decent standard elsewhere.

Louza for instance has already played consistently at a more substantial level in Ligue 1. Don’t think Aribo gets in our team in all honesty.

Tavernier is the archetypal SPL player - career going absolutely nowhere in EFL football but somehow a goal machine right-back in Scotland. Just miles away from being PL quality. File him under ‘Kris Commons’ and ‘Charlie Mulgrew’.

Have you watched much of Aribo? I agree that players like Goldson and Tavernier seem well suited to SPL and are unlikely to be PL quality. Aribo is a level above both of them though in ability.

I'm not doubting he's a level above them - but I also think he's a level below what we have already personally. I'm not saying I don't think he can make it....I just think its a gamble and I don't think we are really in the boat to be making such gambles at this point given our finances and needs. My original point kinda stems from the comment that he's a 'top player' because I just don't think he is - least not yet.

I definitely wouldn’t take Tavernier given his age and prior EFL output. The role of FB at a side as dominant as Rangers is very different from that of any club Tavernier would be reasonable signing for.

Kristoffer Ajer appears to be doing v well at Brentford and although I am not so clued up on the 2014-15 SPL was Robertson really the outstanding player he has since become when at Aberdeen? Certainly not the league’s outstanding player as Larson and VVD were. There are only a handful of SPL players who I think would get into our side (Aribo, Kent, Turnbull) but I do think Aribo is among them.

Maybe I should have said something like “top talent” rather than “top player.” Obviously he’s not going to be shortlisted for the Balon D’Or or anything but he’s an exciting player

He's a good player, therefore he won't be coming here.

    Hope this helps.

He seems quite friendly with Troost-Ekong. However Rangers seem to have unrealistic evaluations of their players. They have just published huge losses yet again and with 18 months left on his contract we may be able to get him for a good price.

Is his name pronounced like Ariva, or like Haribo said in a cockney accent? I only want him if it’s the former.

Also saw he scored at the weekend. Playing for a move to the Hornets I see.

Haribo s are like the grey squirrel to the red squirrel of our indigenous sweets.

Wiping out the variety of Fizz Whizzs, Liquorice Sticks and Space Dust with their homogenous but evolutionary successful bland , mass produced sweets.

Yes. They are the "Omicron" to our very own "Kent varient". Bland, safe, highly infectious, and sweeping all other variants aside.
