The way we are playing has his hand prints all over it. Guy has far too much power and probably has undermined every manager we have had while he has been on board. I dont blame the managers at all, something is rotten within our hierarchy.

What specifically are you blaming him for today? Choosing the formation? Choosing the players? Coaching them? Failing to recognise when things weren't working and changing things? Chances are his prints were on none of these things.

Isn't he still part of the recruitment team? If so, he sort of is to blame!

Does Ivic not have, on paper, a squad capable of promotion?

There have been rumours going on for ages that he is somehow involved in training, selecting the players and formation too. Hangs around the dug-out during games and has been known to get involved at half time etc. Nobody knows the true extent of his meddling to be honest but there are enough rumours around to say something isnt right.

Is there anything concrete on these rumours to suggest this is the case, this season? Genuine question.

Should the recruitment team have provided a more balanced squad? (Yes)

Considering the constraints (-£60m revenue, want aways, quiet market, few offers for our players) I think the recruitment team did a 7.5/10 this year. Ivic has what he needs to play a 343, 352, 433, 442....

Maybe. If the intention was to sell Masina then I would disagree.

All that we now have is a makeshift LB and a winger.
Can Sema play in a back 4? Who knows, but it seems complacency has left us short in that position. This is on the recruitment team and Gino.

Can anyone accurately describe his current role? Not disputing that recruiting has been a big issue, but other than sending a message of "no one is safe" to the scouting and recruiting staff, with Giarreta now sporting director, I had thought Giraldi had largely been shoved to the curb.

I think that this WAS the case. Not clear that it still is - post Giarreta.

The fact that Capoue stated that he held talks with Giraldi when looking to rejoin the squad, suggests to me that Giraldi is involved in first team matters.

The change in role was standard smoke and mirrors. Our disgusting club hierarchy pulling the wool over the fans' eyes once again.

Pearson says he holds no ill-feeling to Giraldi, says he got on well with him and actually still speaks to him now. Doesn't really fit the narrative very well.

Probably thinks Giraldi was doing Pozzos job for him.

    Looks like he's finally gone

Filippo Giraldi to leave Vicarage Road
Filippo Giraldi has left his role as technical director at Watford, a position he held since 2016.

The Italian is heading back to his homeland and will continue to work for the Pozzo family as a senior scout for their clubs.

His association at Vicarage Road dated back to before the Pozzo’s takeover when he looked at the club on behalf of the family. In a rare interview he once told the club website: "Gino was interested in two clubs and I started to follow both but then it was clear Watford was going to be the team.”

The excuse will be we've got no one to pick the team anymore.

Well, that reduces our list of principal culprits to Vlad and Troy. Let's see if things improve.

Well, if his main responsibility is putting the squad together for this season, he had to go. He's left Ivic with a totally imbalanced squad and us unable to shift high earners. To be honest, he should've gone the moment he green lit making Andre Gray our record signing for £18m.

I was on holiday in Gran Canaria with my family and my son-in-law said we had signed Andre Gray for £18 million. I honestly thought it was a wind up. How him and Deeney can justify taking their current wages and being able to sleep at night is beyond me. They are bleeding the club to death. I would not mind if they were busting a gut each week and perhaps scoring the odd goal now and then. After all that is what strikers are supposed to do!
