(The Reverend) Andy Mackay was, almost always, the lead instrument. Phil 'Manzanera' Targett-Adams was generally a rhythm player. The High Road is an excellent film of a live concert in the early 80s. Mackay is superb, as is the version of Neil Young's Like A Hurricane. 1972 or thereabouts.

TBF it's probably even more poignant. The main structure is still in place so the "long lonely shadow" is even more apt. Maybe "long charred shadow" or "long lonely shadow but not quite as long now that the spire has burnt and fallen off" ?
