Think their recent assault has taken this out of our reach with only 70 odd overs left in the game and a lead now of 288....

299 to win from 72 overs. Ground full so hope they have a go especially as New Zealand are a bowler short

It would be nice to think that Edwards could bring about as rapid a culture change as McCullum.

Not very effectively....93/4. >200 still needed, with a long tail perhaps they were too ambitious in daring to start a chase ?

Maybe not....26 off the last 2 overs. Just hope they don't throw a wicket away...

EDIT 17 off the next. 12 off the first 3 balls of the next.....inc 5 sixes in the space of 12 balls..
    Bairstow 84 off 66 balls

Fabulous innings from YJB. It's a worry to see Stokes hobbling around though. 80 to win.

Astonishing batting. 2 more sixes as I type. This partnership 144 off 17, >8 an over.
    Bairstow 122 off 84 balls.
102 in nine overs since tea!

10 sixes between the 2 of them now...
179 off 20 overs between them - that would be a good 20/20 score.

Apparently, the highest number of boundaries hit in any Test Match.

I’m generally a fair weather (Ashes/ WC only) cricket fan, but glad I watched this one. That was a phenomenal test.

Amazing display from Bairstow and a one legged Stokes.
Who says test cricket is dead?

Stokes positive attitude could easily have backfired but fair play to him - this will bring back the crowds.

    Shame it’s only a 3 match series.

I went back on court when it we were four down.
I asked my boys group at 4.30pm what the score was, might as well have spoken in Swahili!
No one else had a clue either so had to wait until I heard the 8.30pm sports news.
Brilliant effort, what a contrast to the football!

    Amazing day's cricket.

Being cynical, it may not do them many favours in the long term as they will think they can chase down anything anywhere against anyone. Try that in India or Oz or even Pakistan and they may be in f0r a very rude awakening.

I guess we did have to be lucky in a sense.

One bad shot and it might have gone the other way then everyone would be criticising the team.

England have disappointingly missed out 500 runs in their ODI innings against the Netherlands. 2 runs short. Booooo....

    Buttler 162 off 70 balls (14 sixes). Livingstone 66 off 22 (6 sixes...60 of the 66 in boundaries)!

It must cost the Netherlands a fortune in balls.
More chance of finding Moses in those bullrushes.
They lost 9 on Friday with Buttler smacking them into Belgium!
