Is there a problem at the club, the spark & vitality seems to have evaporated, would the players rater be down the pub than on the pitch?
I forsee some drastic changes around the corner after the Sheffield game

Trouble is we don't have the squad or quality and sadly probably won't add to it much in January as few players will want to come.

Tommy Smith was in the Clarendon Arms in Chandlers Cross shortly after the game, had two pints and left. Was with his dad and about 5 or 6 others i didn't know.

Certainly didn't seem down or unhappy, far from it. Unlike moi who told him how i exactly felt watching that shambles.

What was his response? Come on mate, leave it out, I'm trying to have a pint here?

Anyway, am I right in thinking that Aidy doesn't call them back in until the following day, so they have time to 'process' their performance, or lack of it?

    Process their performance??????

What by hitting the sauce 30 mins after the game?

i guess he knew better than "leave it out mate i am trying to have a pint". As much as i don't like the bloke i was not rude, just polite and firm in making a few points.
Funny enough he wasn't aware of the blatant handball or the fact Webber was offside. This was corrected some time later by a bellow across the pub telling him to @@@@ing watch it now.

In his email he says he was dissapointed but not devastated, well if you cant be devastated after that when can you be? Being positive all the time only goes so far! For a player to be in the pub 40mins after the final whistle is frankly beyond belief, most top managers would'nt have turned off their hairdrier by that stage!

The impression I get is that Aidy has is being undermined and a definate soft streak exploited by the players who have been round the block. Powell, Smith, Spring, Carlise, King, Francis and others.

If you think back to when he first arrived, their was a purge of all the bad influences and senior players! Why because IMO he was'nt comfortable with the fact that at such a young age his influence on them would'nt be so great! However having rid himself of one potential problem has he developed another one by bringing in rough diamonds and players who have lost their way!

If you look at the real success stories of the last couple of years, its the youngsters and and the players being given their big chance that have flourished. Demerrit, Foster, Young, Bouazza, Bangura and Mahon(ish).

Those bad influences mentioned above have either had their day or had their chance and wasted it!

If what Goldengirl said is true that they're only going back in today for a de-brief etc, it does'nt give them time to think on their performance it gives them time to think of an excuse.

Ha Ha, Wish I'd been there. What I meant was he used to call them in the following day once they had time to get a little perspective. Not sure if he can do that now, cos the Premiership is what it is, and we are struggling.

Truth is, I do like Tommy, and I am pleased that he has managed to play within the so-called Watford Culture, although not a single one of them were exempt from criticism on Tuesday night, as Aidy says, we win as a team and we lose as a team. But if points were given on a team spirit basis, then we would be top of the Premiership.

Does seem strange though, would have thought a Pub is the last place any of the players would want to be after a performance like that-unless he wanted to 'celebrate' his MOTM.
