If we all just agree to say Rajovic is the best £1m ever spent and one of the most technically gifted players Watford have ever signed, WILL THAT MAKE IT STOP??!!
Only if you also agree he’ll inevitably come back after the next pre-season with a couple of yards of extra pace.
Most important aspect is to work exceptionally hard on core strength which will make you much harder to knock off the ball whilst not adding excessive bulk. But it can be up to a 2-year job once you’re over 21; it’s one of the main things GT got Ross Jenkins to concentrate on, which is why a struggling Div4 striker ended up scoring goals in the top division. Hopefully Raj is working hard on that. We’ll see if there’s any improvement next season, but not before.
Yes making up straw-man arguments to completely ignore engaging in the actual points I'm making is really the mature and sensible way to go about things... I've never said "Rajovic is the best £1m ever spent" or "technically gifted" and wouldn't agree with you either if you claimed that he's "the best £1m ever spent" and "technically gifted". I've simply said that he's clearly not "a total waste of money". I've also never said that "he’ll inevitably come back after the next pre-season with a couple of yards of extra pace" - only that it's simply not impossible that he could come back after the next pre-season with a yard of extra pace. My saying it's not impossible doesn't mean I think it definitely, or even necessarily likely, will happen and it could well be that he doesn't, but I'm just saying that it could and so I'm not going to entirely write off it happening until we've seen whether it's the case or not. Genuinely pathetic posts; I'm not surprised at a19 but I'd have thought UEA could do better.
Careful now, some posters will try and take the mick if you suggest that he might not stay exactly the same as he is now and it could take a bit of time of him training with us to see if there are any results.
Rob Page's dad stayed at ours once, when he was visiting his son. He unblocked our drain for us with some hired rods and then he took an old chair back to wales with him to reupholster and bring back on his next visit.
I remember Beadle scored a nice goal once from the edge of the box. Butler was great against us when he returned with Gillingham.
Bit of a strange sentence. A bulked up Deeney would suggest he's massive which he isn't but his finishing has been ok albeit from close range. He has 10 goals this season. I will say he is pretty dreadful at everything else though
Having flicked through this thread it's quite noticeable how many thought we should steamroller Rotherham because they're bottom! We are a mid table side so yes we are expected to win but not sure why anybody thinks we should thrash them There home games this season have seen them beat Norwich and Coventry and Middlesboro. Three teams I imagine most think are better than us They have also drawn at home to Sunderland, Leeds, Ipswich, Preston and Blackburn, again sides I imagine most think are better than us Looking at that those, although we didn't play well it's actually a decent result and going there and battering them, while possible, was actually very unlikely
I have a bit of a soft spot for Butler as he scored the first goal I saw a Watford player score live in person and not on the telebox
Ok then Rousy, I concede: you're a unique shining light in the darkness, uniquely correct in your lone interpretation above everyone else, as ever.
So is Sam right saying he is better than those listed? https://twitter.com/samstreetwrites/status/1759604131340140710 Don't think people in the comments agree - particularly " Briggsy"
In no way whatsoever is he better than Josh King, for a start. Sam does tend to enjoy his silly takes, though.
Agree generally but think he meant in a Watford shirt. Suppose he was playing at a higher level though and obviously is more talented. I mean Davies was very good elsewhere and Britt. For what it is worth I thought King would be a decent little singing if motivated but guess not.
I didn't like King, he was disinterested for much of his time here (when he wasn't playing against former clubs he had a point to prove against!), but Rajovic wouldn't get as many goals as he got for us. It's also become (understandably!) a bit taboo to say anything nice about Andre Gray, but he did have a decent minutes to goal ratio for us, even in the Prem, and did help us to a Cup final, and Bayo, even though he's about as clinical as my nan, does give defenders much more to think about
Yeah, I was including in a Watford shirt. Just like everyone else he ended up a victim to/affected by/using as an excuse to become lazy and unbothered the outrageously toxic culture and mega-failings from the Stability during that season, but he was still at times quite effective and led the line far better than Deeney had managed for several seasons prior.
You could say that about most strikers, does it mean you should completely change your tactics to shoehorn him in?
Joshua King. wow. I’d completely forgotten that he was a Watford player. Something that I probably won’t be saying about Mileta Rajovic.
Was he? He got a lot of hype from Forest fans who were riding the crest of a promotion wave and having fun with it, but he seemed to be all hype rather than substance. It happens more and more now - bang average players get labelled as mega talents when they are average or poor. Domingos Quina is a Watford example. Davis couldn't hold a ball up, neither can Rajovic. Davis could play 60 minutes maximum, Rajovic can play 90. Rajovic scores goal, Davis doesn't. I think Rajovic is hugely limited *but* he is showing glimpses of improvement, and I would have him over Davis any day of the week.
Maybe - they certainly seemed to love him . Perhaps as you say he was part of a successful winning team so players often are looked on more positively.
In fairness it wasn't looking too likely they'd get promoted before he came in, and he did do very well for them. Didn't see too much of Forest that season, but I would imagine he wasn't blowing out of his arse after 45 minutes like he was here
I'd say Rajovic is probably at his level really, a very average player playing for a crappy mid-table Championship team. I expect he'll be leading the line next season during our relegation battle, unless he can somehow escape during the Summer.
Yes I'm not sure he would be. Logically you'd think so as he's big and slow, however to be useful in a front 2 he would need to be good as controlling a ball, slipping his partner in (cue K Williams GIF) plus a front 2 would suggest less width with fewer crosses coming in from the flanks for him to attack....which seems to be his only strength....
