Oppo Forum:https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forum/1-leicester-city-forum/ After our feeble exit from the FA Cup in midweek we welcome Championship leaders Leicester City to the Vic in the hope of ending our barren run of no win in five games. Let's be honest from the get-go, this is a "free hit" for us and come 17:00pm that will be no win in six. Our recent record vs the foxes makes pretty dire reading. They have beaten us four times in a row including an humiliating 1-5 loss in this fixture two seasons ago in the Premier League when we couldn't win for toffee at the Vic. That last sentence is pretty damning even now. Our home form has dropped off a cliff with no win since November in the league. Goals have begun to dry up with our League One strikers failing hit the target in recent games. Leicester have a very good squad and look heads on for an easy return to the Premiership. Are they unbeatable? No of course not, but we still have players missing and I cannot see Dennis and Kayembe starting due to lack of fitness. Sema got a good runout on Tuesday and it was thankful he got through the game unscathed. Kone' was pretty sharp too as probably are best player (which was not a high bar). To be honest I cannot see much change in the line up but more fatigue will be involved no doubt as the game goes on. It's been discussed a lot on here on the amount of first teamers who could of been given the night of in a nothing cup replay but here we are. Let's just hope we don't get torn to shreds and put in a performance that is at least on a level above what we saw midweek. Watford 0 Leicester 2
For those Watford fans with a nervous disposition please look away now. Sadly, it's an indicator as to how far we've fallen. Even last season, not a single opponent would cause us to really fear them. Now, it's totally different. We are cannon fodder for teams like Leicester. We used to be the big team in the Championship, but now we're right down there with the Rotherham's (or will be very soon). We will play poorly in the first half, as is the norm, and the game will be already lost by half time. Second half we'll rally for 15 minutes, before Leicester score again, and then they will be content to see out the game. But I want to be optimistic, so I'll predict this will be Watford 0 Leicester 3.
I wouldn't disagree with that prediction. You just forgot the bit about Hamer making two fantastic saves to keep the scoreline half respectable.
We will spend 90 minutes chasing shadows and probably finish with 10 men Hopefully Leicester will declare after their 4th.
Can't make this one, which feels like it could be a mercy. A few of our lads look like they'll be collapsing from exhaustion by about the 20-minute mark.
We won’t be the ones passing the ball around for once - be doing a lot of chasing . God help the likes of Rajovic and Martins then !
I'm sure Leicester will win but the way some are talking about them you would think they are prime Barcelona from 15 years ago. We are also not the worst side in this division by a long way
I wouldn't play either of them Hamer Andrews Pollock Hoedt Lewis Giorgi Livermore Kone Asprilla Bayo Sema
Got to be starting Dennis on this one, get some well needed match minutes in. Bar Kayembe missing we have our best starting 11 available. Hamer Andrews Pollock Hoedt Lewis Livermore Kone Asprilla Dennis Bayo Sema
Yes I agree. They pulled him out of the cup match for extra training and I think the only way to get him fit is to start playing him now. Not a full 90, but at least 60 minutes just to get his match sharpness back. I thought against Cardiff his performance was much improved on his previous two appearances. The only positive point from that particular game.
It makes me laugh how over the years you get small needles between random clubs. We had one with Leicester after the play offs for a few years now they are as irrelevant as Rotherham. Same applies to Everton, Bournemouth, Ipswich back in the 00s etc.
Did we? Thought they just ran away with the league the following year and then it's all been fine since (other than being mildly irritating how many penalties Vardy gets after being brought down by our keeper). Didn't like them for a few years after they relegated us (in the GT comeback season?) and their fans were utter ***** before the game but quite like them now and was pleased when they upset the Premier League applecart.
Lucky to get nil I think. Comfortable win for Filbert's boys as they stroll onwards to a title and promotion.
Another game where we might as well play the reserves and give key players a rest, but where we won't
Some easy money to be made on Leicester thumping us tomorrow, should pay for a few beers! Watford 1-4 Leicester 'ORNETS!
I think we've got to stop fretting about this season and just hope for a steadier run-in with a top 12 finish. For many years we've been a ropey Winter team (never enough gritty players) so this dip is fairly normal for us. We've had a lot of games lately. I want to see some decent performances over the run-in and then hear what the plans are for reviewing squad strength over the summer. Other than that I'm pretty peed off..
