Bristol City will be on the crest of a wave no doubt. They have a young squad with a couple of them.likelt to follow Scott into the PL. The Reds will obviously hoping it's with them. Good to see lots of youngsters supporting their local side ladt night against West Ham. Manning is certainly doing a better job than Pwarson and gas already linked up with Scott Twone again. I think we're a decent side with everyone available but don't have the quality to match Bristol City, Coventry or Middlesbrough in the playoff race. The only hope is that young sides like City often have inconsistency. There's an enormous amount of work to do to remedy all the mistakes piled upon other blunders from Gino and his chums. And we don't even have any call it would seem on help from Udinese.
Play to the same intensity as city and we give them a game if we are off it like boxing day then only one outcome
In a way, I'm much more relaxed about this game, they're the team that battered us on Boxing Day, we got a win on Sunday in the game we 'should' have, and we can't fall too far off the play-off pace. Anything would be a bonus really
This is going to be a tough game with a fair few goals (0-0 incoming) I do think Bristol will edge it.
Can’t see us getting much here. Maybe I’ve just seen all their good days, but they looked like a cut above us on Boxing Day. What I saw of them against West Ham again re-emphases that belief. It’s odd as their form is clearly patchy. They look like the best team in the Championship, but are clearly not that. Their “good days” places them as one of the best Championship teams this season though. I’d bite your arm off for a point, but unless our performance levels are really high, I can’t see beyond a standard defeat in this one.
Bristol haven't scored since Boxing day and have drawn blanks against Millwall Preston and Birmingham. Read what you like into this but in my view their league position is where they should be and if the team is focused then we shouldn't really be getting our knickers in a twist about them .
They should have had a man sent off against West Ham and Spam were without nine first team players, including their three forwards.
The player got booked so the FA won't take any further action. I think Deeney is the only player to have got a yellow card only for the FA later to increase it to a red.
Watford don't do boxing day games, but that is no excuse to defend our pitiful performance against a very sharp Brizzle. Will they do the double over us? Probably. Bayo will be back so I expect him to go straight back into the XI. We are still missing Sema and Keyembe and Lewis is a week away from a return so we still have weakness. If we keep it tight and them out for at least the first half then perhaps we could nick it on the break. VI should of learnt from last weekends distaster subs that almost lost us two points, and going into this with the best away form in the division does create some instict we may win. However, a point here is never a bad result and it's about time we had a clean sheet. Brizzle dispatched a very weakend Spam side in the Cup yes, but they also lost 2-0 at a very inconsistent PNE before that. Maybe we have already seen their best performance on boxing day, but I cannot see VI standing for the performance again against the same side. 0-0
Yes dead right, I caught some of that West Ham match. Their s***house-in-chief seems to be their midfielder, Joe Williams, who specialises in timing his 'strong' tackles the wrong side of the line to clean out ankles and shins simultaneously, as in "I won the ball ref, nothing to see here". Similarly he likes to feign injury as well, rolling on the floor to buy cheap yellow cards too. Very much a replica of the shameless model that our loveable ex-Orn Luke O'Nien applies in the Sunderland defence but with less style! Fresh from goal machine Livermore's performance on Sunday, I imagine Williams will be gearing up for an 'early reducer' on our Jake to test out how incompetent this week's Championship ref will be and to follow up with a dying swan act when the inevitable retaliation comes his way given Livermore isn't a stranger to an early yellow after all. Our discipline will need to be spot on from minute one to get something from this game. Andrew Kitchen is the ref, who looked after us against Swansea away and seemed fairly anonymous, which I like, including an excellent disallowing of a Swansea goal . I did notice from the WO he's only issued one red card this season so far though and last Friday he apparently missed two opportunities to send off Norwich players against Hull (although anything that winds up Liam Rosenior I instinctively applaud!). Expect to see a lot of this of this 'who me?' innocence come Saturday nonetheless.
Not been to an away game for a while (think Birmingham last year was my last) so looking forward to going to this one. Not sure how much of the game I'll remember though as going as part of my stag weekend
Congrats ! You will look pretty damn cold when the tv cameras focus in on you, naked and bound to a stanchion when all other fans have left the stadium at the end of the match. What has soon-to-be Mrs Reids "told you" that she's getting up to ?!!
I think Bristol will be distracted by the excitement of their cup run and we can take advantage by only losing 2-1 this time around.
Congrats rieds. Have a great time at the match and I wish you all the happiness with your future partner. Xxx
Hope we ******* smash them, what kind of nickname is the gas? Bristol Town 1-4 Watford Rajovic x2 Martins x 1 Kone x 1 Reids arrested at half-time for a stag-doo streak across the pitch. Up into the playoffs.
Ah memories, BR STANDARD 4MT 2-6-4T loco if my memory serves me correctly, used to work on the southern region.
If I see a bloke covered in tar and feathers and attached to a lamp post I'll come and say hello Reids
On the grounds we sometimes cause a surprise and do unexpectedly well, and yet ALWAYS let us down when we were expecting (OK hoping) for a good performance/win - I am holding on to a tiny piece of hope for this one....
How cruel! They're still robins and male and female are difficult to distinguish, so I'll use that in my defence,m'lud.
