They arnt as good as either Leicester or Leeds, not that it matters if they keep winning I guess

They did look dangerous in the first half (which was more end to end), second half was more sedate, I wouldn't necessarily say we definitely deserved to win, but we were pretty in control, disappointing to lose like that, especially from a mistake. From their perspective, not their best showing, but it might be even more encouraging for them to grit out a result like that

No they didn't look anywhere near as good as Leeds or Leicester but they do seem to get results.

Draw was a fair result, you could argue our case for three but Ipswich are a tidy team that will punish errors. Hoedt doesn't take a heavy touch and Rajovic doesn't air kick a 2 yarder and the results reversed.

Shows where we are. A reduced squad developing in the right direction but a lack of star quality and prone to a lapse here and there. Poor decisions still cripple this team.

Ince and Martins way off the pace and also offside a lot. Sema and Asprilla should have stayed on unless they were run off their legs. I understand subs to bring impetus but Sema was the most dangerous outlet and Asprilla looked full of running still.

    Momentum.
I did think Hirst was fortunate not to be sent off. He wasn't looking at the ball. Livermore was livid.
Reminded me of the game v Brentford when one of theirs was let off,Toney?

Basically sums up where we're at and where this division is at quality-wise. Two teams frantically pressing each other, sometimes end to end, sometimes with a bit of sustained pressure while the other side takes a breather. It's hardly classic stuff but can't deny it forces chances at the right end of the pitch.

Ultimately today the difference was Ipswich were a bit better at making their passes stick, while we looked a bit ragged and too frantic. Resulted in the ball ping-ponging about unnecessarily for periods when we should have been putting pressure on them. Even then though we got the ball into good places enough times that we should have challenged their keeper more.

Sadly we have a dead weight up front in Rajovic. His instincts are all wrong and he missed a couple of golden chances today - a header from a corner in the first half and then a sitter from another corner in the second. Those misses ultimately make the difference.

Oh and please please bin Ince. He's had it and has offered nothing for weeks. Completely finished as a footballer at this level.

Unlucky tonight, two good performances that maybe merited more than the solitary point. Hoedt's been fantastic most the season so he can be forgiven.

The Rajovic experiment needs to stop for now, we've played so well recently with basically 10 men, if he's not poaching in the box he's offering nothing.

As does the Tom Ince substitution, does nothing. Kills all attacking momentum, Asprilla is risky but he provides invention.

Other than that, still a team we can be proud of and football we can enjoy, still feel optimistic about our chances of a decent season. Some winnable games coming up.

I can only assume that's them on a bad day yet they still won away. Hard to judge without watching them weekly.

That is yet another performance where we are left ruing one braindead absolute crap show of intelligence at the back that has lost us a point at least. Asprilla gave us a dream start but there was no way we were going to hold that. Before the bad, I do want to say that I thought overall, we did alright against what are, on paper. an absolutely beast of a side for taking chances. We wake up at 21:24 we get a point tonight. One mistake is all it takes, and when we had time to clear it, what did we do? Pi$$ed around with it at the back as per usual. KICK IT UP THE BLOODY PITCH! I literally screamed that at the T.V after they scored. It is something we need eradicate from our game, and thankfully there are more than enough fixtures left to work on it.

Losing 2-1 at home to the (now) league leaders is no terrible thing. What is important now is we get back to winning ways and try to go on a small run again. We are not making the playoffs, we know that, but I think we are far from the side we watched fall to pieces at Sunderland. What is always the worry after a loss to end a good run of results is has the belief now gone from the players? I hope not, and seeing how well we (eventually) saw off Norwich after Leicester last time you would think VI tries to install the back into the side again. Ipswich have hardly lost all season, but I thought perhaps maybe we might nick it on the break but when it's so evenly poised, it was bound to be a self-inflicted mistake that lost us the game.

Looking at it from a more positive angle, two losses now in ten games. Pretty good for a squad of our size. Still lots of play for this season but I will say again, how the players' react at Preston on Saturday will tell us a lot about self belief that they will not go back to old habits.

I have watched alot of league one football the last decade due to my ex being an Oxford fan and they are an average league one team riding a wave. I hope Norwich batter them on Saturday and their season falls apart.

Yes one of those days really but when when we seemed on top the subs just didn't work this game and then the Hoedt mistake was the difference.
I thought we looked a bit jaded at the end and their subs lifted them....
    Poor home crowd!?

Deserved something out of that! So frustrating to give away stupid goals.

I thought Koné was a passenger today, no idea how he managed to stay on for the whole game. Poor passing, and caught out of position several times. Rajovic was worse though, he is fecking useless! We are genuinely playing with 10 men with that man on.

Not sure what to make of Porteous pressing so high up the pitch. I liked how he slot in between Kayembe and Koné but I feel that him going that far up gave Hoedt less options to give the ball to, which showed in our sloppy mistakes at the back, and without seeing the replay, I think was the ultimate cause of our 2nd goal conceded.

In a more positive light, Ken Sema has an engine! That lad can run, and run, and run, for miles. Crossing was excellent too.

Has that corner tactician come in? If so, our corners appear to be much, much better. It’s a crying shame that we don’t have the quality in the box to get on the end of them.

Overall though, I have to say it has been enjoyable watching us recently. We may not be that pleasing on the eye, but we’ve got a group of grafters, which is all we’ve been asking for, for a long time. Hopefully we can get ourselves back on track with a good run of form before the New Year.

Ince is done. Time for flat cap and driving gloves and join the Gov'ner at the fishing lakes. Looking at the goal again, I think the hospital pass by Kayembe did Hoedt no favours. Oh and bog owl? Take him back there and let him fly free. Start Healy at Preston and see what he can do.

Disappointing to lose with a silly error .

    Good open first half.

Dropped off in the 2nd I thought.

    They did look decent though.

On a positive note first time ive seen us lose at home since Man City at home two seasons ago. I was a defence brain fart away from being undefeated at home for two calender years. I work in retail as a store manager so getting to games is difficult.

Hopefully Hoedt learns from that. For some reason he opted to pass with his right foot all night and invariably booted it out of play or straight to them. Needs to get wind it in a bit, because an overconfident Hoedt is a liability.

Christ one loss and Uncle Ron is out in force. It's not like we lost 5-1. There is more to be encouraged about going forward, but he's entitled to his view.

One thing I noticed was at times the space between Kone, Kayembe and to a lesser extent Livermore was way too big. Especially in the second half. Makes it much harder for them to be effective as a unit when they’re all so far apart. Leaves them more vulnerable to being robbed in a turnover in particular and then, if they do win it back, the pass to a teammate ends up being harder than it should be because of the distance to cover.

We have committed, but extremely limited players. All the bad habits on show tonight. Misplaced passes galore, hesitancy in possession, afraid to shoot, mindless passing about from the back whilst under pressure resulting in losing the ball virtually every time.

I thought we were really poor, apart from Sema, who was fantastic. The only player who looked the part.

We were bad, but we held Ipswich, who I felt were well below par themselves. But apart from pressing us high, didn’t really threaten, relying only on our mistakes which we gladly obliged.

Rajovic looks a really bad player. He needs dropping now. He was an experiment, and has delivered some goals, so has contributed, but we can’t continue with someone who offers next to nothing.

After tonight, I’ve seen nothing to suggest we won’t finish higher than 6th bottom, so I’m still sticking with that as the is team right now.

Must be a record for points total at this stage ?

I think we have our own one or two as well !

Although I agree Rajovic simply doesn’t do enough and Ince is too slow and ineffective .
