Just putting this out there, would anyone fancy a game of Christmas Werewolf, probably week commencing 11th or 18th December?
Not looked at the calendar but I am guessing that's during an International break? Either way yes please!
Unbelievable level of commitment My last day is the 8th and back on the 5th. 26 consecutive days, if you include bank holidays and weekends. I'll completely lose track of what day it is and no doubt be eating the Christmas goodies early.
TBF I did use 50% of my annual leave in August, plus my leave year is 1st April to 31st March, I always make sure I have some left, usually I use them in the February half term.
Can't bear taking additional time off over Xmas. Cold, wet, miserable, a bit like today. When I joined current employer it was a policy requirement to take the Xmas week as holiday and the office would close. I rewrote that policy so that I didn't have to waste any holiday days and to keep the number of days off work to the bare minimum.
I'm the opposite, I hate working between Christmas and New Year, I usually only do it if I had to use annual leave elsewhere in the year. In general throughout the year any annual leave I use is for a specific purpose, i.e. on holiday or as this year trips to university open days with my oldest son; the Christmas holidays annual leave are specifically to recharge my batteries and do sweet FA for a few days, I won't care what the weather is because the curtains may not be opened at all, between the Watford matches on Boxing Day and Friday 29th I am staying put!
It is a bit of a one off this year. There are only three of us in our section of the business, unfortunately one lost his wife last year after a short illness and the other lost her Husband after he was diagnosed with liver cancer. It meant that both ere continually flitting on and out of the business' at different times, so I only took 6 days last year. Because of the circumstances I was allowed to carry 19 days over. Have to say trying to use 44 days in a year is a bot of a nightmere, unless yo just enjoy having days off for the sake of it.
44 holiday days in a year sounds like heaven to me ! To me they are like gold dust. Just 25 days. Every one of those 5 weeks to be spent away somewhere, which is why I don't want to use up 3 days over Xmas. I thought of introducing flexible benefits to the company but it doesn't look good to the Board as a director to introduce such a policy and then immediately buy up extra weeks to be out of the business !
As I work from home 4 days per week I don't need to take up annual leave for dentist appointments and the like. Pretty much the only restriction I have is no annual leave in the week leading up to the Grand National.
Yes, same, 2 days a month in the office, but I like to keep those 5 weeks fully available so "enforced Xmas holidays" or "taking a long weekend" etc can **** off !
Yes but that's not the main reason. I also used to go to Loughborough, I was sporty in the sense that I went to player snooker, pool or darts sometimes.
Haha - I was a similarly kind of “sporty” at uni, usually while on the wrong side of multiple pints of snakebite and black or something similarly cheap and nasty. My goddaughter is currently at Loughborough and having a lovely time there, albeit she is a keen triathlete. Although it is highly rated for what my daughter is applying to do (Psychology), she discounted Loughborough as musical theatre is her main extracurricular interest and she didn’t think Loughborough would be as strong as other unis in this area. Best of luck to your son- it’s a full on year for them.
Do we have enough for this @domthehornet ? Selfishly I’d love to have a game between Christmas and NY.
Well that game was hilarious! I was the Alpha but knew I wasn't going to be around on the afternoon of day 1. So got an early message out there, made up a pretty quick code, pretended I'd forgotten about the game to try and distance myself from the first message and then explained why I was voting early. Was hoping that was enough for the Seer to look elsewhere but no idea if that aroused suspicion and they decided to view me. If so, well played them! Didn't check again until the voting was closed by which time I'd been viewed as evil so doubt I could've done anything even if I had been alive. Would've at least put up a fight though!
The danger of the wolf putting out a message first saying a random person is good, is that you hope the seer doesn't find an evil.
Who was the Seer? Ironically, I messaged dom before the game to ask that I wasn’t given the role of Alpha as I knew I was going to be busy on the 29th and didn’t want to spoil the game by being inactive…..
Seer must if been a semi-active. I am thinking Tony? Lists of players are generally revealed after the game so I am sure we will find out.
