It's just not clear where his strengths are. @Bubble is probably right about his confidence but then the best strikers we've seen in recent years (Deeney, Vydra, Ighalo, Graham etc) make goals happen regardless of what's going on around them. Nothing from Davis all season has suggested he's an instinctive goalscorer. It's his lack of aerial ability that does it for me though. He can't jump. He can't head the ball. He comes off second best in far too many duels. That alone makes him a waste of space.
Reminds of Reginald Perrins mother-in-law. League One at best. Quoted at £15M. The transfer market has gone mad.
Linked with every club in the championship next season. Will likely go to QPR or Millwall before moves to Oxford, Burton Albion and Chesterfield. Will score 20 more goals in his career. Hopefully won't disgrace the Watford shirt ever again.
He’ll go somewhere else and do fairly well. Wouldn’t be surprised if he finishes above us next season. Just like a certain young manager in Bedfordshire.
Nothing to do with him not being focused or poor attitude... his physical level is just appallingly bad for a striker at this level. Also other issues with his goalscoring instincts as some have written here, can't finish or play with a few touches, he needs a few seconds to get moving with the ball before he can make anything happen, Would wonder if he has any lung function issues or chronic conditions (genuinely) that may cause that because he gets tired really really easily. It stops you expressing yourself as a player because you're too tired to do anything your brain wants you to do. Or maybe he's just so lazy that he's been in poor shape the whole season. Idk.
I doubt he has any lung condition as know from experience he wouldn’t be running around at all particularly well but by top athletes standard probably isn’t very fit or injury prone . For us anyway because our general fitness record is poor .
Yet more despicable behaviour from us that gets other clubs' hackles up - you don't get that kind of thoroughbred for sixpence ha'penny, just pay the bloody fee.
He’s going to come back and haunt us isn’t he ? https://twitter.com/TheFLZone/status/1681766757277614081
Norwich fans seem keen .. https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/153109-keinan-davis/ Not sure what bigger teams they think will be in for him !
Did that classic thing of having one of his two best games of the season at their place in January, so they probably think he's far far better than he is.
As a bundled add on in a £6m double player deal. Say it’s £3m or even £4m, being very generous. Its unbelievable to think we would have spend 4-5x that in the same window had we been promoted
Sory Kaba just went for just over a million quid and he outscored Davis in less than half a season, I know goals are not the be all and end all, but Davis' all round game is nowhere near enough to compensate for that
No need to be jealous guys. We have Bayo and if he’s injured we have ……..that other guy, with one knee,…. and some kids.
