Surely if we wanted to we would have put an offer in for him? I doubt Davis is in any rush to come back so goes against the grain that we want “players who are keen to join”
It wouldn't surprise me if he got injured whilst having his medical. Apparently you've got to run quite a bit during that process, which I'm sure his body would rebel against.
Are Udinese still signing Dennis as well? Surely they’ll have a spare striker hidden somewhere at their training ground they could stick on a flight to Heathrow.
When a player's value drops from £15m to £2m within one season - that's not getting a bargain, that's getting a dud. Like buying a written-off car thinking you can fix it up.
With Davis joining Udinese, you’d think that means they will have to ship a non-EU player in order to accommodate his arrival.
It can go the other way too. You can buy a player whose value goes up from £1.5m to £5m within 24 hours…….but he’s still a dud.
Somewhat surreal how Udinese seem to be building a ‘Championship’ team! Ebosele, Camara, Quina, Success, Zemura, Kabasele and now potentially Davis (plus Deulofeu, Pereyra, Ferreira etc but they’ve also played at higher levels too)
He was never worth £15m - that was a promotion bonus to AV if their star striker fired us to the prem !
Notwithstanding how poor he was with us, if he has a similar purple patch to his time at Forest for Udinese, an English team will buy him and Udinese will make £10m+. Buying up homegrown talent for cheap and selling them to English clubs is a good route to profit.
and they’ve changed their badge back to a historic design which matches their nickname without a hissy fit from the fan base. They’re just showing Gino how it should be done
Genuinely think Udinese might be in a relegation scrap this season. Their fanbase is notorious for turning on the team/owners and can’t see them being too happy with their business over the last few windows.
Or, loan a £15m player and place him in a ‘team’ with no strategy, multiple managers and where no player looks any good or delivers, turn all other interested parties off him, massively decrease his value, then swoop in with your other club and get him for £2m! Occasionally you’ve got to hold your hands up and admit the genius of the long term plan.
Was a big fan of their recruitment in recent seasons, but they didn't really do much in January then their Technical Director left at the end of the season and seemingly hasn't been replaced well. Also believe they could be in trouble this season, especially if Samardzic ends up leaving
Wasn’t it reported that Udinese was going to be sold only for them to do a non-denial denial? Would make sense as they are selling off the big names and replacing with cheap dross. I mean, our window has been bad but not Kabasele, Ferreira and Kamara bad.
You wait - he will be excellent for them . Daddy Pozzo must have been impressed or told by Gino he was a good player ..
