Does anyone know how to stop the unnecessary notifications from the EFL fixtures that you can sync with your iphone or google calendars? They were never a thing in previous seasons, but this year I get a two-day reminder, a 15 min reminder and video highlights sent to my calendar for every game and I can't switch them off. Very annoying....
If it was something that you installed (there was a prompt for one before the season began I remember). If you did this, then you have to manually remove it. Open "Calendar" application on Windows Click on the "Home" tab (its probably defaulted) There are three options underneath on the right hand side under the small calendar image. Add Calendar My Calendars Show All Click on Show all, and it will show an additional add on called "Football League Calendar" Right click this, then click "Delete."
Open Calendar application as before. Click on Calendar Settings Click on General Click on Notifications You can disable/enable desktop alerts from the menu.
I think that will disable ALL my calendar notifications... Like meetings and appointments. And my wife's birthday!!! I only want to stop reminders on the synced fixtures. It might not be possible or have to be done by the calendar owner but was hopeful someone might have found a way.
In that case the only way to do it will be to remove the fixture from the Calendar before the date, say a day before. You just right click on the day and press delete, that will stop the notification for that game appearing. I do understand where your coming from though, it's quite a poorly implemented system where you cannot disables certain dates of an event in one go. Although to be fair this is the first time Microsoft have partnered with the EFL in any form, so perhaps in the future the system will be better.
Crown Jules. Anyone else think we let the Romans go too soon ? Their contribution has always been underestimated by us and our fathers, and our fathers fathers' and...
I used to write them on my arm in bright pink marker, then wondered why I got odd looks walking through Tesco.
Has windows done an update recently? Sometimes it changes some internal settings, notifications being a big one. You might have to do it again if that is the case. Or, you could just do what I did and delete the entire thing from the computer. It's a nice idea but it's implemented carelessly.
Nothing to with Windows, it's synced to my Google calendar. It syncs regularly I guess in order to update any fixture changes, and it must re-activate the reminders as part of that sync process. Which is really annoying. Who needs an alert 2 days before a game, and again 15 mins before kick off???
I've just checked and mine on Android has updated to show both the Chesterfield game and the QPR game moved to the Sunday.
If we're at home Boxing Day they normally end up being 1pm kick offs. For some reason this year that hasn't happened
Shame, I quite like the noon or 1pm kick offs on Boxing Day. Leicester away at Ipswich at 7:45 Boxing Day evening is a dreadful kick off time.
