It's utterly bizarre. I saw some GB news crony retweet an Emily Maitlis piece where she explains just how NF hasn't been 'de-banked' at all, but still, their retweet included more of the 'if they can de-bank Nigel then they can de-bank you' scare and sensationalism. And it washes. We live in such a divided society that people would rather knowingly be wrong than consider switching sides in an argument.
Yeah but are we suggesting that NatWest is going to go under because of this? That strikes me as highly implausible.
Not suggesting it'll go under but the invetigations, the defence, the increased regulation all has to be paid by someone. If it's levied at the bank/s then it'll be recharged out to their customers by increased fees, ultimately the likes of you and me footing the bills. Bank share values will go down and ultimately savings investments and pensions will be hit, who suffers, us and our retirement. Those that made the mistakes will not suffer to the level they should, those that suffered the consequences of the mistakes will likely be compensated and the lawyers involved will be laughing all the way back to the same banks that cause the issue in the first place. Sorry in a miserable mood today.
I think you're overstating the significance of this. People have already fallen on their swords so why the need for 'defence'? Are you suggesting there is going to be a public inquiry? It's one individual. The government has already moved to change the rules.
It's not out of the question. It's already consumed government time & resources when the could have actually been running the country, although tbh that's probably a good thing. O I forgot they're on holiday for 2 months now.
Well, an asset that the country owned has devalued by 852m today. Obviously that doesn't matter in actual fact until we sell it, but the point still stands.
Ha. Corrected text… The BBC reported that Coutts informed them that Farage’s account was closed because he no longer met their minimum requirements. That is both a lie (see below) and a breach of confidentiality. Farage hadn’t named his bank and it was the BBC who revealed that information, given to them by Coutts, who also falsely described his management of the account he had with them. It doesn’t take Farage to figure that much out. Coutts closed Farage’s account solely because of his political views. He had enough funds to meet their banking requirements, which they confirmed, as their own opinion, in the report they used to justify deleting his account with them based on his political views. Sydney is right. It didn’t add up, particularly when you understand that his post above was quoting Farage quoting Coutts giving their own opinion. That is why Farage is now a slightly more smug twit, and even smugger leftie bankers are having to pick up their P45s. Please read your posts before posting them boys.
Does "BBC Verify" not verify its own stories before it publishes them ? "Yeah, but this happened ,that happened ,who could possibly know" . Is not a defence . The point is . Nige Farradge has the clout to take on BBC\Establishment nonsense. I don't . And neither do you .
He has the clout because he is the establishment. If Brexiteers haven’t sussed this yet, then there is little hope they ever will. Anyone thinking he is some Norman Wisdom everyman, taking a pop at the elite is effing deluded. He represents the traditional elite, fighting for what it believes is owed it by right.
The absurdity of it. The establishment attacks Farage (Coutts, NatWest, BBC - it doesn't get any more establishment than that). BREXIT is dispised by the establishment across the board. Forum conclusion: Farage IS the establishment! He's no working class hero, and frequently a bit of a nob, but if someone is seriously arguing he is the establishment, I would suggest there are some serious flaws in their argument. But I defend their right to express it. Predominantly because of how silly it looks.
Educated at Dulwich College. International commodity trader and banker. Banks (or used to) with Coutts. Hobbyist politician, backed and bankrolled by Britain’s traditional elites. Global hedge fund backing for current activities and media. He is one part of an internecine war between different aspects of the establishment. You’ll find technocrats and bureaucrats on one side, him, his banking and global finance chums with the landed gentry on another. He is absolutely of the establishment. To say he isn’t is like saying Prince Harry isn’t one aspect of the monarchy, just because he is at apparent war with it.

Always the victim: https://www.gbnews.com/celebrity/itv-nigel-farage-im-a-celebrity-advertising-boycott I just can't believe the lengths ITV have gone to in order to censor this brave patriot. Paying him £1.5m and flying him to Australia to appear on a prime time entertainment programme. What lows will they stoop to next to shut him up? Will the victimisation ever stop?
Ner Year, New Same Old c*nt. Der Färager waxing lyrically on W@1 now - something chilling was the claim, he laughed off, of that walki' talkin' bag o'shyte Banks' announcement that he would fund Reform to the tune of £10m if the GROPAZ was at the helm...
Jeremy Corbyn takes ‘first steps’ in legal action against Farage. This follows Farage’s GB News show last week where he accused Corbyn of subscribing to an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, essentially that Jews run the World. Whatever you think of Corbyn, he clearly doesn’t (though Farage certainly knows some people who do) and we can look forward to seeing Farage backtrack and hopefully lose some of that money he doesn’t have a bank account for. https://news.sky.com/story/jeremy-c...age-over-highly-defamatory-statement-13087251
