I think it’s safe to assume Deeney won’t be coming back as a coach.

Yeah that was a lowlight, they decided to have a good 3-4 minute conversation between themselves about fans starting fights with each other and how that's a reason not to have a more formal elected fan representative body.

The Deeney stuff was hopefully a valuable lesson to our £1m per year CEO. Don’t pander to players and back them over a manager, because you’ll encourage them to take advantage of you even more, and then badmouth you on a podcast anyway.

    What a waste of time..

Did no one step in and move things on ?

Suspect they were making the point they felt uncomfortable at the game which obviously isn’t right but seems to be more an issue for the supporter liaison official.

Not all fans will agree on everything of course -naturally you don’t want aggressive nasty behaviour though. .

To be fair, you couldn't really. Both ladies were quite upset - have sympathy with them over the incidents they were describing just not sure what they thought Pozzo and Duxbury could do about it.

From what I understood questions were given and the main topics would form the questions asked. I can’t believe poor recruitment, free speech, over zealous stewarding were trumped by a family day, toxic fans on social media and a family day. Someone had got to explain acquisitions of Manaj, Oulare, Penaranda, Hause, Rose, the list goes on. Should have known really.

I dunno what happened in Shoutbox but reading the above to me feels like a group of people ganging up on one person and taking pleasure from it. I find it unsettling.

I have not seen the full transcript of the meeting tonight.
I am only going by what l have read on here.
It seems as if our 'fan groups' fed Duxbury and Pozzo sugar and failed to ask any questions that would make Duxbury and Pozzo uncomfortable.
Two things appear to be clear, our fans are soft and want to argue amongst themselves. Plus, Duxbury/Pozzo were never going to be upfront with very much.
There will be more info to come from the meeting l am sure.
I get the feeling that it was a pointless exercise.
Interested to read more in the coming days

If you had followed more I think you’d see that is not fair. Many fans asked many uncomfortable questions on key topics (Bayat, debt) and per the live blog were quite confrontational at times.

It was about as tough as it could be in that kind of format I think. Unfortunately, as people were generally only getting one go on the microphone, they tended to ask multiple questions when they got it, which obviously gives the person responding the choice of which one they are going to answer so several good questions were glossed over for easier ones.

There were definitely strongly worded questions asked but maybe not responded as hoped.
Thf that was just 2 questions at the end and the general talk of recruiting was discussed with Bayat a hot topic but naturally they defended him .

Also Duxbury did admit there had been issues with the squad but seemed to blame the managers more than anything.

I did think there were probably more to be asked but then cliché answers would have been given or any criticism brushed off.

    And me.

It came across as what I expected. An arrogant small bunch running the club who feel they couldn't possibly be wrong.

    Nothing is their fault.

They grimaced and winced their way through it and also seemed uncomfortable with some of the facts and digging that had been done.

They made out that they have set us up for everlasting success and one good, honest coach is all that's missing. Each one they employ turns out to be a let down that couldn't have been forseen.

As l said, l have yet to see the full transcript.
I am only judging by this forum.
The overall feel is one of disappointment.
I will wait to read what questions were put Duxbury and Pozzo.

The Bayat question should have been easy.
    Q. Do you both feel comfortable working with a convicted felon and one who is being investigated yet again in Belgium and France for further crimes?
    Q. Kalu. Have Watford been formally approached by FIFA and UEFA regarding evidence of paperwork provided by Kalu and his Agent?
    Q. Who was responsible for signing all those dog turds and handing them long contracts?
    Q. Ismael. Why?

This meeting was never going to please everyone or achieve very much. It has happened. So let's see if there are any changes.

One of the most interesting moments of the evening was when Duxbury said that they introduced the accountant to Bayat to help him set up a "shell company". Now I know that there can be legitimate uses for shell companies but they are often used as a vehicle for money laundering and fraud:

    Shell Companies (acfe.com)

I don't think Duxbury actually meant shell company at all, I think he meant the company was set up and left dormant until transferred to Bayat but found it amusing that he used that term (perhaps a Freudian slip...;))

They're not factually correct either - Bayat is not a convicted felon (yet...)

So, in summary, there's absolutely no real reason to believe either Pozzo or Duxbury aren't the entirely incompetent, insufferable pair of c*nts they've spent the last few years proving themselves to be?

    Cool.

Yes, and the two blokes who raised it pointed out that dates from Companies House clearly overlapped and that if what was said was true, the accountant is terrible at his job as he couldn't get the dates right.

Shell companies can also be used "legally" for tax evasion.

But also I'd be surprised if the accountant only discussed how to set up the company (and not how it should be used etc.).

Anyway, I referenced that answer from Duxbury and made a related point here:

It also glosses over the fact that he wasn't some random accountant, he was sat on the board of our parent company at the time! And he retained a small shareholding (4%) in Bayat's company for almost two years after the initial incorporation.
