What a fantastic photo I inadvertently travelled down the staircase the same time as the flare, looked brilliant but was rather warm. Wouldn't change it for the world mind.
I remember distinctly being at work; fortunately I was working somewhere the game was on. I literally couldn't watch as Knockaert stepped up, I was think I was almost on the floor with my head in my hands. I remember the guy I was working with screaming it had been saved and looked up as Fessi went past their full back to cross the ball in. Absolute jubilation, I went absolutely bonkers and even all this time later it's a truly surreal, once in a lifetime moment.
Bloke behind me in his early 50s was going berserk at the ref for awarding the penalty, and was still calling him & Knocktart every name under the sun as Anya passed to Fessi; when the ball hit the net he just slumped onto a gangway step holding his head in his hands as he rocked back & forth muttering ‘what just happened?’
Where did those ten years go?! I can look back on it now and appreciate it for its remarkable drama but at the time it was utterly surreal.
