So we get just under 30M for Pedro - good deal but we won't see a penny spent on transfers. Wonder if we can temp lego head Howe to splash another 30M on Sarr?
Maybe it's this bit that's seen as incorrect? "it is almost certainly as it’s reported, £30m total price inclusive of any add ins etc" Looks like £35m inclusive of add ons, not £30m.
I’m hearing it’s £30m plus another £30m if Pedro plays 3 or more games next season and/or Brighton aren’t relegated.
I will go £20m upfront, £10m after 50 Brighton games and £5m after first Brazil cap. The deciding factor will be the £20m up front not in instalments which made it hard to decline.
£35mil does "eclipse £20m" big-brain. "a deal that could potentially be worth £35m with its various clauses" https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-much-loved-young-brazilian-heading-brighton/ Take the L and jog on.
The highest fee was £41mil for Nathan Ake, so no obviously the club wouldn't say that it's the highest fee. 41 is a larger number than 35 - in case you can't figure it out for yourself, which wouldn't surprise me.
I think and hope that you're right. Was looking through the compilation of goals and he's scored some brilliant headers, a few tap ins and some where he shifts the ball out of his feet and hits it. But even in our promotion season, we looked incoherent in attack for the most part and I think that's put a lot of pressure on his decision making. It's much easier to play the killer ball (or to go on your own) when there are two or even three options with you but it feels like he's often only had one and therefore had to get it exactly right. Could see him doing really well drifting in off the left. He's far better technically than Richarlison, who has managed to get a big move and perform for Brazil on the biggest stage. The only thing I think Richarlison currently shades him on is a knack of being in the right place at the right time. But Pedro has been here for three and half seasons and worked under Pearson, Mullins, Ivic, Xisco, Ranieri, Hodgson, Edwards, Bilic and Wilder - it's testament to his ability and mindset that he's progressed as far he has in those circumstances.
Pointing out that Ake is the largest Championship transfer at £41mil, and that 41 is a larger number than 35 is editing reality? You're surely just trying to troll me now? I'm struggling to believe anyone can actually be so dense.
Honestly, this is the most ridiculous argument, I mean, if it is £35m then why would I care, I’d be happy surely? But the club must absolutely love mugs like you, every other news report says it’s above £20m, the club themselves say it’s undisclosed “but amongst the highest in the EFL, but you latch on to the one report that says it might rise to as much as £35m and you cling to that as absolute fact that it is in fact £35m, ignoring every other report and what the club specifically aren’t saying. Duxbury and Pozzo must be laughing themselves silly that idiots like you still exist to do their dirty work for them.
I don't recall you posting anything happy on this forum. 35 is a number that is above 20 - counting proving to be another of your weaknesses again. Again, 35 is a number that is above both 20 and 30. You should give something like one of these a read then come back to me once you've finally managed to complete them; I suspect it should take a while:
Rousy, can you please quote me a report where it says Brighton will be paying us £35m for Pedro. While we all wait I’m going to go ahead and say Rousy might be an idiot, which by your own definition means you are in fact 100% definitely an idiot.
I've posted the WO report above, and I'll remind you of your original comments which the WO report contradicts: "it is almost certainly as it’s reported, £30m total price inclusive of any add ins etc" £35m inclusive of any add ons is greater than £30m inclusive of a any add ons. You were "almost certain", yet that near certainty ended up being mistaken. "they aren’t going to be paying more then £30m for a championship player with 10 goals to his name, homegrown or not" The fact that they could end up paying £35m if the add-ons are met, means that Brighton are indeed willing to pay more than £30m for him - which you mistakenly said they wouldn't be willing to do. You didn't think they'd be willing to pay higher than £30m, but they are.
It was literally a few posts above you already. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-much-loved-young-brazilian-heading-brighton/
I asked for a quote where it says “Brighton will pay £35m for Pedro”, you couldn’t produce it, but instead you managed to trawl back and quote me multiple times instead. Case closed.
The report says: "a deal that could potentially be worth £35m with its various clauses" As I posted, this contradicts your earlier posts, where you said: "it is almost certainly as it’s reported, £30m total price inclusive of any add ins etc" £35m inclusive of any add ons is greater than £30m inclusive of a any add ons. You were "almost certain", yet that near certainty ended up being mistaken. You also said: "they aren’t going to be paying more then £30m for a championship player with 10 goals to his name, homegrown or not" The fact that they could end up paying £35m if the add-ons are met, means that Brighton are willing to pay more than £30m for him - which you mistakenly said they wouldn't be willing to do. You didn't think they'd be willing to pay higher than £30m, but they are. You completely dismissed the possibility that they would potentially go higher than £30m because you thought it would be too much and would sound like too much of a good deal for us, but your complete dismissal was mistaken.
Surely would have been easier to just say "ah yeah fair play I was slightly wrong there" rather than the embarrassing back and forth above? No one cares, really.
Apology for what? I’m asking you to stop the back and forth with LowerRous on every bleeding thread. Nobody cares if you’re right or wrong
The only way that will ever stop is if he stops repeatedly dredging up old posts to say “look you were wrong” or “look I was right about this guys”. It’s tedious in the extreme, but apparently I’m the problem.
TBF he’s generally defending himself against a bunch who are always looking to prove him wrong. We all need to let the humour in and the competitiveness out. This forum is supposed to be fun. Football is supposed to be fun. It’s a hobby (other than for Reids!). We need to be more prepared to laugh at ourselves and laugh at the predicament of the club we all support. I like some of your posts and like some of LRs. You both make valuable contributions. We can disagree on stuff without it becoming an almighty fight over who was right and who was wrong. The Pozzos have got a lot wrong recently but given the situation this doesn’t look a bad deal for c£30m ish. Just my view.
JPs departure will also significantly affect the Watford FC YT channel figures. As will that of Sarr. We need to find someone else from Brazil and Senegal to make sure we up the numbers again. We need to be relevant in the world of social media.
A gentle reminder to all, there is an ignore button on this forum for the purpose of ignoring posters you do not get along with. It benefits not just the individual poster.
No one is looking to prove him wrong. It's just that he cannot admit he has been. It all started with him bringing up posts from months in the past to justify his own points of view and to berate others for being 'wrong'. Not to mention being verbally aggressive to other posters. That sort of attitude is not needed. So in turn others have brought up his posts from the past. I've had to delete a fair few posts recently between posters. This sort of behaviour as I mentioned before is childish.
But this post in itself isn’t even handed is it. I agree with your sentiment but you refer to a mystery “bunch” who are presumably bad, whereas when it comes to proving people wrong there is only one guy who invests time to drag up posts from years ago isn’t there? Agree £30-£35 seems okay on Pedro. Right I’m off to laugh at Wendover who has been tweeting for the last 3 months that “bidding opens at £40m”.
I don't want to get into a row Smudge but it is very much two way, and I think your own views, which you aren't slow to air and of course you are entitled to, cloud how you see it sometimes and how you use your "mod superpowers" . We all just need to take a chill pill.
