It’s genuinely hard to see where he fits in at the moment. I don’t mean at Watford, I mean in professional football.
The best thing about not going up this year will be seeing this pr1ck waddle back to Villa, and us not forking out 15mil for him. Best of luck on loan at Hull next year.
He'll be lucky to get a club like Hull. Scunthorpe United would be more his level. Utter waste of space the *****.
On a side note, after a hugely damaging home defeat against Torquay it looks very likely that Scunny will be playing regional football next season following back-to-back relegations from League 2 to the National League North, the sixth tier in the pyramid. Not quite as far a fall as that of Stockport, but just as if not more drastic - to think as recently as the late 2010s they were pushing for (automatic) promotion to the Championship with the aid of Toney’s goals!
Shame that. Decent local family club and with links to GT. A photographer friend of mine who is a Scunny lad said the shenanigans around the ownership make it all the more unpalatable and they are desperately clinging to survival just to be a community asset. Fit and proper ownership test. What a farce that was.
Knowing us he'll go to someone else in our league and do well as a target man type striker alongside a goal scorer and other in form attackers.... No idea why we thought he'd be worth 15 million though - been strikers in this league who did score goals and moved up to the Premier league but done nothing for that sort of fee.
Give the guy a break, he can’t last more than 90 minutes because of Edwards disastrous pre-season 9 months ago. Everyone knows if you’re not fit in July you’re never getting fit. Even if you recognise you’re not fit at any point after July, there is literally nothing you can do about it, you can’t do extra training during the 3/4 training sessions you do every week, you won’t get fit from the 2x 90 minute professional football matches you play every week, it just isn’t happening, there is no possible way. *If the manager from 9 months ago didn’t get him fit in July, he’s never getting fit. *From fans of the club who bought a clinically obese Danny Rose and thought he’d burn it all off in a shortened pre-season and be a perfectly serviceable Premier League player.
Funny to think he came from the same academy as Grealish - I suppose the decline in academy products marked Villa's decline on the pitch (up until recently). When Grealish broke into the first team Villa were an established if struggling PL club, and when Davis did they were a midtable Championship team.
I find it almost impossible to say anything about KD without using the words Cows Arse and Banjo in the same sentence
I don't know who said it on the Shout Box at the weekend, but there was a comment of "Davis runs' like he has an anchor strapped to his leg". Found it pretty fitting, so glad we don't have to buy him now. Really was a "Tufan" situation.
Julian Alvarez £14M. Keinan Davis £15M. What is the footballing world coming to ? How an earth did Gino even agree to this. What a mug.
They've got a great Academy. Great facilities. That Chucky was a disgrace. Running off to Chelsea after throwing his toys out of the pram.
I don't mind players being crap, happens all the time. But Davis is forever waving his arms around as though it's his team mates letting him down, when he's a 25 year old who can't play more than 60 minutes despite basically making next to no runs off the ball or pressing anybody. His fitness and in-game attitude and application are a disgrace. Was wondering if he might look back in ten years and wonder if he messed up but suspect he'll just count his millions and watch videos of the 30 goals he scored over his whole career.
Quite so. As the forum generals have made clear it is simply impossible for a non big 6 team to generate a youth player of anything above L2 level.
14 goals in 72 club appearances?! We have had players get more than that in half a season (ok maybe slightly extreme ) when we were really rubbish .. I hope the club didn’t think he was going to be the next prime Deeney etc and get 2o goals or something ? Half fit Troy probably got more than he has.
We're a bigger club than Villa (and have a right to be in the PL), so they should be generating for us, if anything.
They’ve just been relegated after a disastrous run of form at the worst possible time - failed to score in their last five games in a run of fixtures that gave them a golden opportunity to at least get into the relegation mix. Now watch Davis (who wasn’t even on the bench today) bang in the goals against South Shields, Peterborough Sports, Spennymoor Town, Buxton et al, LOL.
Back in the glory days we used to get strikers like Ighalo for 8m. Now we were about to splurge 15m on a striker who's managed 6 goals in 31 games. In the Championship. What horror. Genuinely how some fans hyped this guy up as a top signing and star player still befuddles me, though I was saying right from the start he was ***** and was shouted down by people here. I stand by that he is no better than any of the other strikers the club signed this summer and winter. Maybe has some qualities played in a very specific system but generally likely one of the worst strikers in the Champo.
He's awful. And last night provided another Deeney contrast for this lump of a 'striker'. Watch his defensive efforts in the build up to their second goal. Cross comes in from the free kick and big Kienan is there, unmarked, just needs a big booming header to get it out. But no, the big man who can't head if his life depended on it somehow ends up facing his own goal, the ball hits him on the back of the head, lands tamely on the edge of the box, which gifts one of their players a free shot. And more defensive idiocy from others sees it end up in the net.
I see Davis as more of an attacking midfielder rather than a striker. He's good at receiving the ball, battling against strong defenders and coming away with the ball. But after that, his game tends to fall apart. Not a good passer of the ball, not a good finisher but is able to score good goals. I'd take him on a free or very low fee, but that's about it. I also think he's giving nothing in the dressing room. I get the impression he's one of those who will knuckle down if the environment is that way, but will be relaxed if he can get away with it. Seeing as we would have had to sign him for £15m had we gone up, that would have been a dreadful waste of money. Not a player I'd want around for next season, but I expect to see him playing against us for another Champ club.
Unbelievably ****, shockingly unfit and he really could not give a single ****. Does not want to be here one bit and doesn’t even bother hiding it. ****, send him back today.
