I still don't think you can draw that conclusion about Bayo' s fee, especially in light of deals like Kamara. It was likely in no small part to do with convenient Pozzo money shuffling rather than money completely being lost.
Who cares? The club needs a Forest-style massive player turnover in the summer, but the owners must realise we need a solid Championship squad, not tippy-tappy poseurs. L*t*n, Millwall, Blackburn etc., etc. have squads like this and that’s why they are all above us in the league.
I think that’s being a bit disingenuous, if you look on their forum a fair number of their fans say he’s taken them to another level compared to Jones, I posted one of the comments on here not long ago. It’s a bit like those who say Ranieri winning the league was all down to Pearson. No doubt if you were an Arsenal fan you’d have been calling for Arteta to get the sack after 10 games last season, but quell surprise, young managers need a bit of time to learn and make mistakes.
I still wouldn't mind Bayo as a bench option for next season - he can at least nick a goal and would've been more use this season than the 5hyte we replaced him with.
Just to remind everyone we play relegation threatened Huddersfield at the Vic on Friday. Lose that one following today, I would like to see how many home fans' clap them off at FT. Our season is over, our players play like that and are just coasting on auto-pilot now till May. Hudderfield and Colin will know this, it will the perfect game for them to grab three points... which, knowing us, isn't something that will not happen.
There's some truth to your post, except Burnley are even more tippy-tappy posers yet they're winning the league.
The managers of Leeds Palace Fulham Everton Leicester Are all ex Watford and yet they were all sacked (ex Hodgson who was on a short term contract) that’s 25% of the Premier League, figure that one out!
Agree vice chairman (GD demoted because of his Ted Lasso opinions). Rob might have made some minor errors, but as a club, the mess that caused our mediocre start was not down to him, as demonstrated by our mediocre season since and his record at a ****** little pub team who could be in the prem next season.
Hope no one bothers turning up, may as well enjoy your Easter weekend doing something else. And Colin gets a result. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
he didn't hire himself He didn't laugh a summer long PR campaign pushing himself as the new dawn of WFC He didn't choose to be the poster boy of the latest WFC Stability con over the fans He didn't sign Bayo, Manaj etc. He came in as an ambitious young manager, believing that he was here to herald a new dawn for an erstwhile prem club which seemed to have taken a small wrong turn but was taking steps to right itself. I'm not pro Rob, but not anti him either. He wasn't the problem. Neither is bilic, or Ranieri, or Pearson etc. No manager can do more than have a short run of momentum driven success at our club
Rob Edwards paraded on the pitch last year. "Come hell or high water" Sacked. New boss can't get a tune. Sacked. This club is rancid. Lazy.
We won 4-2 on aggregate. I want Luton to go up, it will be hilarious to see them in the Premier League they are genuinely nothing more than a pub team. The premier league has never seen a birdseye camera angle when the ball goes to the near touchline. Bobbly pitch and 10,000 seater 3 sided ground. I'd still rather support Watford even in our current predicament. I was disappointed Edwards got sacked but if that's how he's got them playing he was never going to last here for long. Nothing wrong with another season in the championship. Time to regroup.
They even gave him front row tickets to Elton's last ever concert and got the man himself to mention him on stage. Only to sack him a couple of months later. LMFAO.
It was Edward’s inability to transfer his ‘press’ utilised so well at FGR that concerned me. Seemed to me he was surprised at how much higher the levels of fitness and pace were in the Champ and had under prepared the players…accepting he wasn’t given a balanced squad, he also proved himself incapable of making up for that. His performance at the scum looks a bit like ensuring Jones’ work has continued. What the current shitfest at WFC shows is that without a discernible ethos emanating from the top, no coach or squad will deliver any sort of consistent competence, let alone success.
At least deals with Udinese stay within the family to distribute where necessary (lol), what 'good' does money flowing to the Bayats do?
You predicted us to win 4-0 in the prediction league, you obviously said differently to the bookies! Haha!
Well at least it's over. Seven hours in a row on court in the cold and wind and the worry about the game is not a good combination. Where next? Good on Wilder for calling out the players but he knows as do we all where the problem is. How many more matches will there be when most of the playing staff just dial it in and collect their fee? I don't think we're at the bottom of all this damnation but I really hope we're close to it. Go Pozzo PLEASE.
Hmm... he's not even really their first choice striker, that's usually Rodriguez when fit. Plus he's statistically pretty much the worst of their first team players. He's very much the exception. It'd be the same as if you'd tried to claim that we're not "tippy-tappy poseurs" just because we've got Sierralta.
I thought it'd already been shown on the forum that the Bayats co-own some "sporting" company in Luxembourg with the Pozzos; or that one of Bayat's companies pays back in to one of the Pozzos' companies in Luxembourg. As an added bonus, there was the article the other day about how clubs (including likely us) don't pay out as much tax when agents act for both the club and the player on a deal. There are probably some other advantages hidden in there as well. But basically my reading of it is that in addition to providing us with players the Bayats help the Pozzos to move their money in a tax efficient way in to tax havens/Luxembourg (though of course they'll take be taking a cut for their part).
This nonsense yet again. Isn’t it amazing how he only had 10 games, but two subsequent managers (one of whom had a whole winter break) didn’t manage to better prepare the same group of players in 3x the number games, plus he has taken Luton to another level to Jones, so how has he miraculously managed to keep the players as fit, or even make them fitter than Jones did?
