Of course it’s not on Edwards I agree. It’s just a comfort blanket for the Pozzo acolytes on twitter which allows them to kick the obvious can down the road.
Can't wait to see the range of offensive tat the marketing department comes up with to mark the signing of a player called Adolf. Yellow and black mustaches?
As we waited in our car to drive away from the Riverside earlier, your observation about there being one team and one side of 11 players is so true - and we actually watched the game ! I also agree with the rest of your post
Good points: Snow is here Bad points: I don't think l have been this disillusioned about Watford FC for many, many seasons. The team is full of dog turds. Kamara is now doing the same as he had done at Nice. He was replaced in the end by a 20yr old reserve player from Lyon I have said it many times before, the club is Toxic. The players are wandering around the pitch, no game plan. The fitness of the players is once again an issue - why? How is this possible? Bilic cannot do anymore as the current players are just not good at Championship level. The transfer policy is a disgrace. Someone or some people are making a great deal of money from our continuous over payment of players. I don't want to hear that "This was their value". No, it wasn't their value. The club is an utter joke. My son is no longer interested in joining me in late February in coming over to watch a game. He loves football, but has lost heart in Watford. He no longer puts his Watford Training jacket on when he goes out The young are the fans of the future. If we lose them, it will take decades to get them back. I have yet to decide if l should go over. I know there will be the die hard fans on here who will swear blind that nothing wrong, you know who you are. I think relegation would be a wake up call. I don't think it will come to that, but l would not be against it. Watford FC are a laughing stock. The people laughing the most are their own fans.
Burnley's squad doesn't have that much of a different make-up though and look where they are. Lots of loanees and relatively young players with little Championship experience isn't in and of itself a barrier to getting promoted from the Championship. Our injury situation is a shambles though. It's true though that a rebuild in the summer one way or another will be impossible to avoid.
We keep saying "A complete rebuild" but it never happens It will not happen under Duxbury and Pozzo. This is not their way They will patch up the team with cheap Euro/South American buys. You also have to factor in our colossal debts. We cannot buy our way out. We are Poundland and only just. The future looks grim at the moment.
Soooooooooo that's just an awful effort all round. Team, coach. Kamara coming back and results fall off again.....
Bowlocks to promotion, let Bilic groom the squad, clear out about 8 of them over summer, bring in some youngsters and start from scratch for next season... Win the playoffs this season and we're in big trouble...
We say this every single year, and every single year the usual suspects cling on, continue to start games and even get new contracts. Nothing changes until Pozzo goes.
Have Luton had injuries since he joined ? It’s been a long long term problem no matter who the manager or players are.
You can't pin that on Bachmann?! He actually did well to stop the initial one-on-one without giving away a penalty.
Bilic's post-game interview is hilarious. Dumbfounded that his players can't do the basics - despite him being the coach who spends all week with them. If they do it all week at London Colney, they don't just stop on matchday. Time to stop the lies and smokescreens - they either aren't motivated enough to try on the whole or Bilic is a sh!t coach.
Poor game. I saw Bilic's post match interview and he looked angry but he should look at himself first, poor team selection. Also, can we stop playing Gaspar in midfield. Please. Koné had an off day but Middlesbrough overloaded the midfield so no surprise there. I mean, it was a tall order to get a result here but too many shirkers today from the more senior players like Kamara and Sarr.
When we played away in the Premier League more often than not I really didn’t expect us to bring any points home and anything gained was a bonus, in the championship we should be entitled to believe we can go anywhere and make a good fist of it and only loose in exceptional circumstances. It’s hugely disappointing and frustrating with our so called “ class “ players we have had so many abject away performances this season, the sooner the players realise that they can’t pussyfoot around and need to earn points by putting their bodies on the line the better! The playoffs are no way a certainly!
Was plugging a gap but Bilic was making a point playing another midfielder in defence and having one midfielder on the bench .
Really shocked to hear that Sarr and Kamara were both crap yet again... I think our January recruitment has looked pretty good so far but only time will tell. But to gain any traction we need to get rid of a lot of the overhyped dross we are lumbered with, including the two donkeys mentioned above. Not a chance this squad goes up.
Not hugely surprised by todays performance or result . Boro are a decent side and promotion contenders . We seem a long way from them at this moment . We had no control in midfield which has been a problem for much of the season. That’s not a surprise given who Bili* has to select from. Kone clearly isn’t the answer yet . He has been thrown in because there is no one else., but clearly needs time to integrate . Still hoping we will sign a decent midfielder but otherwise we are waiting for Louza to come back in . looks like we are struggling for defenders again withSierralta now injured again. At least we’ve got Porteous to come in now. Thought we were ok in the first half but just seemed to collapse once the goal went in . Kamara was awful. Really need a win next weekend now .
One of the three blind mice. There is loyalty and then the denial of what you see in front of you. There is talk from others on here about blaming Edwards. He was not at fault. The players we have right now are not good enough for this level. It wouldn't matter who is the Coach or Manager. The injury list is an excuse. Maybe Louza and Pedro could be an upgrade, but the rest are dog turds. Sarr, we'll be lucky to get £10m. He hasn't outpaced or beaten anyone this season. Treading water that is all. We are utter crap on and off the pitch. Wake up and open your eyes, speak out at the games instead of happy clapping that pile of manure off the pitch. St Etienne and Lyon fans were throwing seats, lighting flares, holding demonstrations at games because they were unhappy at the performances of their team. What will Watford fans do? Nothing, not even a banner. The poor performance is now in the stands from those who are happy to see Watford being run into the ground and accept such dross on the pitch. Oh well, Tomorrow is another day. Have a good weekend. Ps: Bill Foley Sports Group wanted to buy St Etienne, then Lyon before buying Bournemouth. He has now settled for 33% of Lorient in France.
What has he denied? Said we were rubbish (even predicted us to lose ..) and says we aren’t good enough for promotion whilst pointing out some players aren’t up to it. Definitely isn’t blaming Bilic or Edwards. How do they get flares in the ground and allowed to throw seats ?! Cannot even take a sandwich and drink in here .
Looks like we're not doing Kone any favours. For most youngsters we are a graveyard at the present. We mess them about, loan them here and everywhere and make them play under different managers and systems so that they do not know what day of the week it is. Gaspar was walking in treacle yesterday with the pace of the game yet Kone gets hauled off ? Great for his confidence. He has genuine ability and the chance to kick on and become a tremendous player but that won't happen under the current regime at Vicarage Road. One can only hope and it's a vain one given Gino's ego that the DOF gets the players in the manager he wants and that they collaborate on building a young talented hungry team.
What exactly are you doing about it then ? How are you ‘speaking out’ . I would be interested to know .
Little of column A but a lot more of column B I am guessing. Players' only turn up to games they have a vauge interest in. They knew the derby was a good game for exposure so played the best football we have seen all season. Then they look at the fixture list and think, "Middlesbrough away? Cold, up north... nah." It's probably not correct but cannot be too far from the truth from some of our players. If we are ever going to be a PL main stay (which is Gino's goal) we have to build a squad who gives a sh!t week in week out. Losing is part of game, but if you don't even try to hurt the other side, may as well not even bother going to the game. Give them the three points and stay at home. Too many games this season we have just waited for a wonder goal to win it.
People often ask me at work how Watford are getting on. My default response is "I'm not sure. I barely read the match reports these days. We're in the playoffs somehow but we are dog shyte". I just can't be arsed.
