They would bounce back. Like Parma and other clubs. Would be a shame given their history and the players that have come through their ranks or played for the club. Did I mention I am a fan ? No doubt the vultures would be in to pick the carcass clean.
Jiangsu FC Chinese champions have been wound up. I expect Internazionale may be put up for sale as the parent company seeks to focus on it's core business. Could see a yard sale although El Toro is planning to stay. But we all know money talks if salaries are going to be reduced.
Adolfo Gaich the scorer developing once again after a bizarre move to Russia. @lowerrous who I hope is okay was particularly positive me less so comparing him to former Argentine nines of the same age but he has come on leaps and bounds. The result means Internazionale are likely to take the Scudetto. What a shame Juventus miss out on a tenth consecutive title in a one horse race. Juan Musso is likely to be moving to Roma. Bizarre again when he could be the first choice at Internazionale and AC Milan are looking at someone to put in place if Donnarumma leaves. Terrific result for Benevento in their quest to avoid relegation. Crotone already look doomed.
Prandelli leaves La Viola citing "profound distress". I was a little peeved when 127 year old Ibrahimovic scored and La Viola managed to turn a 2-1 lead into a 2-3 loss. Can't have everything I suppose?!
Daniel Guerini of Lazio passed away aged 19 in an automobile accident. Pretty sure I watched him play for Italy u18 or u20 in the last couple of years. Far too young. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56521025
Not bad though for a reformed team and their first ever tilt in the top division reids. I like the name of the manager. Mr.Italiano. Beaten Milan at home and well within their grasp to stay up. The match against Torino will be a crucial one.
Yeah Torino will be huge, as was Cagliari last weekend. A lot of teams near the bottom have had some crazy underdog victories in the last few weeks which isn't ideal, hopefully there's a big enough gap to ensure safety!
They should be safe despite having a few tricky fixtures including one against my team Internazionale. I cannot see Parma escaping so it is all down to how Cagliari and Torino get on in the next few rounds. Do you work for La Spezia by the way reids or have they just caught your fancy ?
I'll be their Head of Set-Pieces next season so am wanting them to stay up for purely selfish reasons!
Hopefully! I wouldn't be surprised if Italiano moved on to pastures new at the end of the season, exemplary record, still young. I imagine several more established Serie A teams will be looking at him as a potential option (perhaps Fiorentina after Prandellis resignation yesterday?). He doesn't speak a word of English so communication with the new American owners might put him off staying (and I'm not sure how my work is gonna go since I don't speak a word of Italian either!)
They will have a translator or two about the place I am sure. La Viola could well be an option for Italiano maybe Ballardini a Genoa. Most of the other managers for once are reasonably safe, Gasperini, Pioli, the Inzaghis who are of a similar vintage to Italiano. You never know he might be on his way here .......
Lurking on the Brentford forum I saw that La Viola are considering bulldozing the Artemio Franchi in favour of a brand new state of the art stadium. Having visited it on a few occasions I shall miss the old place, especially the Curva Fiesole, scary place!
Not just Fiorentina but many clubs are considering this or redevelopment as with Udinese to promote crowds and atmosphere. Both Milanese clubs have projects outlined. To date civic authorities have tried to ensure football stadia are multipurpose communal use facilities. So many do have running tracks. Arup proposed this design which hardly matches the rest of Firenze in terms of blending in. https://www.consultancy.uk/news/132...o-franchi-of-italian-football-club-fiorentina Some of the new proposals and stadiums that will be redeveloped to bring up to date what are quite frankly some rather antiquated stadia. https://footballlockdown.com/2020/07/15/new-italian-football-stadiums/
And a host of others. They can do a sympathetic redevelopment if they put their minds to it. Adding a metallic shell which seems in vogue for many new stadiums is not the right answer.
Cristian Romero voted best defender in serie A. Partners Palomino at the heart of the Atalanta defence and both have been called into Argentina's Copa America squad. If Scaloni has any sense he will play Romero. Juventus have still not exercised theor option on him either. https://www.scoutedftbl.com/best-young-football-players/cristian-romero/
I saw him put in some bone crunching challenges this season. Looks absolutely class on occasions then has a rush of blood and leaves the opposition writhing on the pitch. Joyous.
My Father in law still hasn't recovered after hearing Jose Mourinho will be in charge of his beloved Roma next season.
Bit of a bore draw last night Carpster. Chile came with the ambition only to defend and foul. Unfortunately Scaloni played very conservatively. However Romero when called upon was outstanding. Born leader and you would not think this his first game for the Albiceleste. Received great praise and as you say could have walked out of the pages of El Grafico from the sixties. Surely the end of Otamendi now and indeed Pezzella with Quarta taking over. Juventus must be cursing the low buy out clause Atalanta took on Romero.
Roma also have signed from the next season after this one an exclusive deal with Konami for PES2023. Not sure that will affect your father in law too much unless he is an avid gamer.
To be honest I hadn't really heard of him until last season. I watch loads of Serie A with him and his knowledge of it is second to none. So it's usually on his suggestion that I keep an eye out for certain players. But Romero stood out big time and agree Atalanta have got some player there. But I suppose it was difficult to move the old guard at Juve. Raspadori at Sassuolo is the one he raves about. 21 yr old striker. He is definitely one to keep an eye on. His words are that he will be the new Di Natale. He was even Captaining the side near the end of the season.
Juve 'nella merda': Juventus shares tumble after 15 point penalty for transfer dealings The deduction could prevent Italian club from taking part in lucrative European competitions C&P of text for research purposes:
Just the tip of the iceberg. They still have to face sanctions on other charges. Scandal after scandal regular as clockwork. Hope they get demoted to serie D. Good luck to them trying to join the ESL in that position. Horrible club.
Fiorentina win first leg of Coppa Italia 2-0 away at lowly Cremonese. Cheating Juve and Inter draw 1-1 and Lukaku subjected to racist abuse.
