I'm sure a scum player dribbled past him yesterday? Although **** knows what the definition of a dribble is these days!
Yeah not sure, they all vary from data provider to data provider. Whoscored who use Opta reckon he's been dribbled past 0.1 times per game so even if it's not a perfect record, it's still up there as one of the best in the Champ so far!
When he returns we might see Sarr switch back to the right, seeing as their qualities and deficiencies seem to correlate.
Sadly can't filter by only the minutes played at RB so there's some of his midfield performances in here as well, although his mins were pretty limited in midfield
I really cannot decide if that's damning of Gaspar or if it reflects well on Gosling. Both, probably.
Given Reids earlier analysis of Gaspar was quite complimentary, I think it speaks more to how well Gosling has done. Of course, he used to play there so we probably shouldn't be too surprised he's somewhat comfortable, but for me he's exceeded expectations.
Certainly looked like this player last night. Perhaps the injury came at the right time for him in terms of having a bit of time to reset and get used to the league
Was excellent last night, a completely different player under Bilic. Linked up well, got forward when he could and was defensively sound. If the squad keeps up this momentum, the returning injured players will struggle to get back into the team.
Gaspar is a good player or was when he was at Villarreal. It's taken him time to settle at Watford. He has improved under Bilic, there's no doubt about it. Bilic has made a lot of players better already. The ball Gaspar put in for Bayo to mess up was probably the pass of the season. A brilliant ball. He's a solid player. No frills, but no big mistakes either. You don't often notice him, and for me, that's the sign of a good defender. A bit like Cathcart, he does his job and is reliable. Clearly Villarreal got the better deal from the Gaspar/Kiko trade, but he's doing ok as far as I'm concerned and is good enough at Championship level for sure.
Was looking forward to seeing what his qualities were once he settled, because it's not abundantly clear looking at him (not the fastest, not the strongest). Think he showed why he's had the career he's had last night. Technically proficient and positionally excellent. Hopefully kicks on from here and has the engine for a long Championship campaign
We need to get Ebosele in from Udinese. He’s barely kicked a ball in Serie A and is better suited to the championship
A ridiculous signing from a ridiculous club. I've seen a half decent performance against Cardiff from him and that's it. Completely unsuited to the league and an enormous downgrade on Kiko, good work Pozzo.
What am I missing with this guy? He's mostly been okay whenever he's played, and his track record suggests he should be at least passable at this level. But a man with his career, at an okay age, is being left out in place of Dan Gosling, and a mostly out of his depth Jeremy Ngakia. Is he awful in training? Has his legs completely gone?
He's a makeshift midfielder who's usually a right back. Finishing probably not one of his strong points.
A great run and shot by Ferreira, but let's not get carried away. He also made several poor, under no pressure, short passes giving the ball away. Unfortunately not the only player today to misplace several passes.
I was talking very specifically about it being possible for a right back to score goals. But also I think at least half of Ferreira’s misplaced passes were the fault of Martins, not coming short/keeping his marker pinned behind him.
Yup, I said on the Watford Discord server about 5 mins before he scored that he'd mostly been awful today, quite a lot of hospital balls (the one to Gaspar after our FK was utterly dreadful) played.
Gaspar had great commitment and showed it when the squad was threadbare but didn't suit our needs. Good for him to move on and frees up the wage bill. Wish him well as think he was a good character.
Just a correction of a stupid move from the previous year. Costing us a year in settlement salary too.
Ha ha, yes I agree and I really like Mario in midfield, but that was a happy accident. He was crap in the position we signed him for. Mind-numbing stupidity from the still retained Giaretta.
