No tears on my end but we'll need a replacement, and, indeed, there is a question of senior leadership off the pitch, if not on. That being said, we really have no idea how much of that he has provided or can be credited for up to this point in this current season. It's all conjecture.
True. I certainly think his time here is done. Edwards wanted him gone, and it seems Bilic has him as 4th choice behind Cathcart, Sierralta and Kaba. Obviously he could be a leader in the dressing room but how much influence does he really have this season? With Manga and Costa on it, I would have the faith that if this is true, we can find a replacement.
Down to three centre backs if this were to happen, all of which have had injury issues over the last two seasons. Wonder whether they're thinking that Choudhury could be a 4th option there, he played pretty well as a centre back last season against us I think. If the rumoured midfielder comes in, we're going to be massively over stocked there when (if?) everyone's fit.
How about a sack of potatoes, who happen to have a family member that supports Watford? Does the same job.
But knowing us they won’t be ! Yes you feel we need another option if Pollock and WTE go but maybe can get an upgrade .
Still think it's crazy that he's the captain of Nigeria. They must be terrible. Wish him the best but he is an awful football player.
Or a way of the club saying it’s not true? In reality, it’s probably a graphic that was made in the week before any deal was agreed. And given that he’s not technically left, they have just used it. Although it will be interesting to see if he’s in the team/squad later.
If WTE leaves along with Pollock, and with Hause seemingly a lost cause (!), I’d say it becomes clear that we need a CB. Would be a risk to let a player go before having a replacement lined up.
Not the best player for us - but can’t fault his commitment and desire. You could never say he didn’t try or put a shift in. Good luck to him
I’d say we need 2 centre backs. Kabs is injury prone and not very good. I like Cathcart but at 33 any kind of injury will take longer to recover
Choudhury might be a decent CB at this level (other than against us in that FA Cup non-event last season, I've never seen him play there, especially at Champo level), but seeing as he's our best midfielder, I really really don't want us to have to rely on him filling in there
As I said in the team bus, this would be stupid as things stand. We don’t have enough homegrown players, we’re short on available centre-backs and we’re short on leaders in the squad. Granted, he might not be the best quality we could have, but he ticks a lot of other boxes. While the squad is still packed with players that aren’t good enough, he’s far down my list of ones to get rid of.
Don't disagree with you, but it goes to show where we are as a club for fans make a case for keeping a clown of a defender
We’ve got 10 I think after WTE leaves? Plus the U21s. So enough until we pick up a couple of injuries.
I really don’t believe this is true. It would make no sense. A leader, home grown and is actually a fit body. Pollock has gone out on loan, Hause is continually absent and Kabs is injured. Troost is going nowhere (IMO)
