I wonder if Biden will go down the same route as Trump and say that he can declassify documents just by declaring it so:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64218179

The state of US politics. And to think that the electorate could be given the choice between these two clowns again at the next presidential election!

He was not President at the time they were removed, and therefore cannot say that his action, to take them and store them in a new location, was, in itself, an act of declassification. However fragile Trump's argument, it is without question a position of belief that he would be justified in assuming, even if the courts find it was a ill-conceived. Whereas Biden would have to rely on Obama saying that he declassified the items for him, which isn't likely to happen.

This just shows what a desperate move the raid on Trump was, making something out of what was really nothing, and the precedent that the Democrats have now set by going after everything from his tax returns to confidential records.

But if you think it is stupid, just remember who started it. Not Biden, but the DOJ and the DNC. You are simply confirming that they are as authoritarian, corrupt, stupid and petty as many of us have been saying for years now.

Excellent admission that Republicans are telling the truth then. Clearly making things up is completely beyond them.

So Democrats are saying that the big difference between Trump and Biden is that Biden’s team returned them as soon as they were discovered, but Trump did not.

This, of course, is absolute rubbish, because to be in possession of them (back in 2016) Biden MUST have known their natures and MUST have known (based on his own comments regarding Trump) that he had no right to possess them, was unable to declassify them, and that they were neither securely stored, nor within the Ken of national archive.

If Biden is going to say he had no knowledge that he possessed the items, then he will be declaring himself a risk to national security and inviting searches of all his other properties and offices to confirm that it was not a more wide spread issue.

The reason the DOJ knew where to find Trump’s documents is because they were always aware they were in storage, and had even physically reviewed them and specified the level of security they must be kept in.

Biden’s documents were, if there is no chain of custody, technically stolen (potentially any time between 2008 and 2020) and secretly stored at an unknown location or locations for anything up to 14 years, unless Obama steps up to say otherwise, and even then, he must face the same criticisms as Trump, minus the National Archives knowledge.

This, to some extent, appears to be a possible Democrat strategy for removing Biden from candidacy for the next election. If so, it is very ironic that they may be using the same charge on both him and Trump. They just better make sure no documents turn up in Obama’s sock drawer.

But kudos to Biden’s team, if this isn’t all deliberate. I would have put money on them destroying the papers and no one ever finding out about them.

    Another batch reportedly found.

Stupid thing is, this would not have been a problem at all if Biden hadn't demonized possession of such things.

Stupendously stupid. In fact, exactly the same amount of stupid as Republicans, neutrals and Trump supporters said it was when the Democrats did what they did to Trump.

The issue was never simply that there was no issue (not one worthy of an FBI raid and weaponised judicial action). Rather, as was widely put forward, that it was very disproportionate and unprecedented behaviour for a practice that all Presidents participated in.

Even when they weren't President when it happened. And that is probably the biggest issue here. Potentially, as I said before, if there is no trail of evidence that can place the documents in Biden's posession, the assumption must be that they were taken without authority of permission. Otherwise referred to as stolen.

Dems seem keen to give the impression (to their sheep followers) that the documents were only discovered a few days ago, because they are getting a lot of heat for not declaring that they were actually found a week before the last election, which in itself has implications. Biden's press secretary realised she had talked herself into a corner yesterday after specifically saying that she hadn't spoken to Biden on any of this (relying on the impression that the story is only a few days old) but she was pressed by several journalists on the fact that Biden and his administration have known about it for two months; she then had to revise an earlier answer she gave, despite everyone being able to watch it again, to mean something different to what she originally said. She, typically, did not give any direct answers to question, not even to say why the administration had only announced it following a press investigation turned it up, and of course, the Republicans takinng over the house, despite Biden having run on a ticket of transparency; promising to be so much better than Trump, who in reality enjoyed answering press questions and explaining why he was right.

So in 2020 they supressed the Hunter Biden Laptop, which if it had been Don Jr's laptop, they would have paraded it on the streets of every major city; and in 2022 they suppressed news that Biden was in very loose possession of top secret documents that he is not authorised to posses, when, if it had been Trump, the DOJ would have likely have had the orange man stripped naked and stuck spread eagled on the Whitehouse lawn.

There is a real problem, in my opinion, with Biden's comment that he was surprised to hear that the documents existed, and still does not know their subject matter. Given that the documents were found two months ago, this suggestion is stunning, and I would say probably the biggest boob the Dems have made (he was reading from a card when he said it, so they were very keen to ensure a particular story). But to say such a thing, when Biden is the person responsible for the premises on which they were found, and the person to whom the envelope they were found in was addressed (apparently "Personal, VP), seems to be clarification that no serious investigation has taken place. It woulld be impossible for Biden to say he had no knowledge of the documents, if he is not informed, at least, of the titles (he doesn't have to see the contents). He cannot say he is not familiar with the documents if he doesn't even know their titles.

It is clear BS. But I think the story being spun is not an effective one, and may well be leaving a lot of space for the most serious criminal accusations. That is likely to be all they ever manifest as, and the Dems will likely have to ditch the case against Trump, but they will be raised every time Biden's honesty is in question, and every time he criticises Trump or other political opponents.

That said, it is as much of a nothing as the Trump documents, only Trump had the authority to possess the documents in the first place. But Biden is requred to BS now, because of they ludicrous and backhanded way he, his party and his weaponised DOJ treated Trump. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person, as they say.

And no. I really don't care if you didn't read my long rambling post to the end.

    Update.

Found in the garage at his Wilmington (shout out to our old twin town buddies) home, next to his Corvette.

But don’t worry folks. It’s not like the garage wasn’t locked apart from when it wasn’t. Biden was quick to point out that they were as secure as his beloved motor.

Thank heavens. America must be breathing a sigh of relief.

PS Special Council appointed. I suppose they had to. Yet before the weaponised DOJ, this would have just been slapped wrists.

You shall reap what you sow, as many informed them when they decided Trump was worth it. But then, there is a very strong undercurrent of killing two birds with one stone here. I can’t shake off the feeling that the Dems are as happy with this as the Republicans.

Yeah, it's a bit tin foil hatty but an idle thought I had yesterday was if I was an anti-Biden Democrat / independent and wanted to try and ease him out of the door, I'd be getting into his old offices and going through the cupboards in the hope of finding just this. It really should be the end for Biden as a 2024 candidate now but I suppose it won't be.

I did say some time ago I thought Biden should pardon Trump in relation to this documents thing and draw a line under it. Ironically that's now much less likely to happen, which is a shame.

If Biden is really the best the Democrats can do now, then they will be in trouble. You have to laugh though.

Biden wouldn't give a thing to Trump. He has marked him out as a white supremacist, a racist and an enemy of the people and of the US as a country. I really cannot not see him conceding any generous act without making himself appear sympathetic to all of those things. People have been pointing out his unpleasant rhetoric for years, and it is exactly that BS which has led to the situation he is in now.

So I am not sure how you percieved it may happen, even if your intentions were good. Everything the Democrats have accused Trump of, is a projection of their own behaviour. And my god, have they spouted the most incredible lies and bare faced propaganda, with the most dumbfounding support of mainstream media.

The time for laughing was when he was nominated. I told you so at the time. It is attitudes like those you showed at the time that has lumped the US with Biden. He is not completely useless, but he is corrupt, and he is a racist with a history of being so, as his own VP reminded him before she accepted his invitation to run with him. Strange bedfellows.

Your crusade to out politicians you disagree with as potentially trans is off to a rollicking start.

I can't wait to see what greater levels of bigotry you can come up with to show how similar you and your political opponents can be :)

N.B. in English law, you could technically, had Santos been a UK resident, have been arrested and charged for a hate crime for communicating that article with this group. It is a major part of the gender identity law pertaining to a person's privacy, and is probably the most important part, IMHO.

Biden being in possession of Obama era documents casts a different light on this information. If those 30 million documents aren’t secure, then Trump’s comments on them are valid. Not, perhaps, quite as secure as democrats have claimed. The equivalent would be documents from the Trump administration turning up in Mike Pence’s garage.

If it turns out that the Biden docs were stored, at any point, in Obama’s secure facility, then it is fair to consider that it is not in fact secure, and is nothing more than a repository from which non-confidential staff are able to remove top secret records.

Isn’t ‘unclassified records’ pretty determinative in that statement to show Biden’s classified records can’t have come from there?

The question may now be how the Obama documents were treated en-mass by NARA. If they are actually saying that they are unclassified without full examination, that is, they took Obama on his word, then such behaviour is identical to what Trump did at Mar a Largo. If the only difference between Trump and Obama was that NARA accepted the former's will without question, then Trump was correct in the accusations he made. What about Obama's documents?

The department are not aware how Biden came to possess the documents, so if they turn out to have come from Obama's 30 million, clearly there are still classified documents among them, and are susceptible to the same law as Trump's collection. Unless you accept the argument that the documents CAN be declassified by Presidential will. Although NARA may be a judge of whether something is classified or not, they are not entitled to declassify any item; that is not their job. They are librarians, not Presidents. So they either examined the 30 million and found nothing that was classified, or they accepted that Obama declassified them en mass, without knowing what was among them.

    Fair's fair.

That question has already been asked. I think it comes as a bit of a shock when they find out that the US was doing very well under Trump, up until COVID. I suspect you won't be getting an answer either...

I'm hoping the confidential papers found at Biden's addresses might be enough to persuade him to not run at the next election. I wouldn't be surprised if some in the Dems are actively behind the investigations on the basis that they are hoping for that very outcome.

Perhaps we could see an election that doesn't involve Trump or Biden after all. That would be nice.

    Aye.

But a little ironic, none the less, that the ideal you seek is achieved, without your complaint, by democrats using the justice system to manipulate who the people of America are allowed to vote for. Both candidates, potentially, being removed due to library issues that would have previously amounted to nothing.

Maybe take a look in the mirror sometime...

    Comment at 3:30.

Kamala Harris has re-wrtten the Declaration of Independence for the pro-abortion era in her Florida speach yesterday. No longer does it promise the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. She has, in the manner of all flat earthers, had to remove the reference to life, because to do so would be to recogise that a pro-life argument exists based on the comments she went on to make.

Indeed, if she had included the actual text of the declaration, everything that followed would have amounted, without a question of a doubt, to a rollicking pro life rebuttle to the Democrats anti-life (I think, in the circumstances, I can justify saying that) campaigning.

What amazing stupidity. She didn't have to use the declaration to make her argument anyway, but to do so and deliberately remove the word life from her quote just smacks of callous disregard for the life of unborn children. Which, in any other circumstances than Democrat political campaigning and fundraising, would be the most heart wrenching topic you could imagine. On occassions like this, people trying to virtue signal never seem to fail in making themselves appear to be the embodiment of evil.

    But politics is politics.

Blooming extremists. They do my head in, sometimes.

Yep. Pence has got some docs too.

Half the country's gonna be under investigation by special council by the end of next week.

Democrats run a clown show. They must take full responsibility for the effect they are having on the reputation of the United States. Meanwhile Trump's legacy is only growing. The EU may dislike him for pointing out to hole they were digging, but no one can deny that he called them out six years ago, and got it spot on. The Dems better win. Because even if the do, history is unlikely to be kind to them.
