Fair enough. Not above numbers saying I could very well be wrong. You’ve done me there.

I will say that I don’t think he has played in any way like a player who could that number of goals for us though so I’d like to see the correlation in his positions for Nantes against where we have played him, as I really don’t believe it’s just injuries that have stopped it. And the ‘he’s scored twice in both 90’s he’s played’ is a bit of a red herring and I think you probably know that.

Based on his output for us (and I don’t mean ‘when fit’…I mean, ‘where we actually play him’…I would be amazed if he scored 8 goals in a full season for us.

Great result with a decent performance to back it up. I like the look of Kone, reminds me of Chalobah in his skill set. Thought Martins was bright and direct which helped push Blackpool back.

It was absolutely fantastic to see Adeyamo score, been nearly ten years since the last academy graduate scored and it looked like it meant the world to him. Really refreshing ending a league game with three academy lads on the pitch (stretching with Morris I know).

Blackpool were bobbins and the ref even worse.

All in all a good result and something to build on.

Fair play to Morris, I thought he looked much more at home than any previous performances. Perhaps having had a run of games he’s started coming to terms with the pace of the game at this level and looked much more comfortable.

Played some decent balls into the box, along with sliding some nice passes into space for forwards to run onto, while dealing with Bowler relatively well for much of the game.

Kamara shouldn’t be walking back into the line up.

Oh, and the ref was absolutely dismal. Atrocious performance, displaying the consistency of my $hit after a night on the beers and curry.

Me too. Millwall was definitely worse but soften by the fact we were home in one hour rather than 5 .

Anyone else notice we had Okoye on the bench and not Hamer? It didn't matter but I wonder why we suddenly made the switch.

Bayo has always been a weapon from the bench but cannot start for us.

    Davies return can't come sooner.

Grit, ********, determination and a bit of quality. A very enjoyable win.

Morris seems like he has a job on to win people over despite the fact he’s put in a couple of solid and dependable appearances now, even more surprising given our first choice left back is thick and not very good.

Sarr played with some enthusiasm for the first time since the World Cup break - and when he puts a modicum of effort in he’s a different player. Surprised he is still on penalties given his track record.

Kone looks like he could be an excellent addition. Get Louza back in the midfield and get Choudhury fully fit and they will be a solid trio.

Bayo is crap. Last 20 minute player at best. We desperately need a striker who can hold up and score which isn’t Bayo or Davies.

Cathcart MOTM again for me. He’s had an excellent season and he was brilliant again today.

Ferreira looked like he’d never seen a football before, not a great debut.

Absolutely brilliant to see an academy lad score. Not an easy finish either - a really excellent moment for everyone at the Vic.

I suspect, given that Okoye has played the two cup games, that he's considered the #2 and will probably play if Bachmann gets injured, but that we can't realistically put him on the bench most games for Rule of Eleven reasons, but with so many players unavailable that we had to fill the bench with academy lads, we could put him on the bench today

15 each? Pedro on 8 already, Davis on what 5? Sarr on 7. All with a horrible midfield behind them so far providing nothing!

    Morris did well at Norwich.

And the ref was the worst since Stiles and Attwell.

The first half the ref pretty much killed the game. Absolutely awful performance from him.

Koné looks a solid player and it's great to see some of the youth team getting a go, with decent results.

Ferreira was a mixed bag. Let his man go several times and didn't want most headers that came his way. Other times he showed some good touches l.

Ferreira was absolutely hopeless in our own half, turned into a different player when he crossed the half way line.

Can't have enough fast, skilful players though I suppose

They will never get 45 goals between them. Never.

Not one of them has ever been consistently prolific. Not one.

Am gonna do a IKG ‘Five Thunks’

1- We played most of the second half with 6 out of 10 outfield players who were U21 and finished with 7 players U21
2- 23 points in our last 12 games despite being ravaged by injury. That’s a PPG ratio not far off the top two. With Pedro and Louza back soon we could go on a barnstorming run in .
3- Martins reminds me more of a Richarlison rather than a Pedro. Didn’t seem to have too many tricks but was direct and impacted the game. Plenty of players look classy but fail to impact games , some are less easy on the eye but impact games . He was the latter . Of course early days but impressive debut.
4- As mentioned many before , credit to Bilic for a) getting us through a difficult period and collecting good points b) brave substitutions and flexibility in game plan.
5- Credit to Asprilla whose positivity makes things happen. At a young age his risk taking won’t always come off and we can sometimes concede when he loses the ball in midfield by trying to beat a man . I would like him to carry on taking risks because gamechanging midfielders are like good dust . Coming off the bench is better for him at such a young age , when he is less weighed down with the responsibility off doing the dirty midfield work.

I think Doyley got #2 against Bolton away. It was an attempted cross that the wind took into the net.

So easy for a game like that to end 0 - 0; Blackpool clearly would have been happy with that. The trick, as usual, is to get that all important first goal. Given the side was cobbled together that is a good result, even though 'Pool are candidates for relegation and looked it.
I was much impressed by Kone: A good silky touch and apparently a good picture in his head of the field of play around him. He even, despite his willowy build, bounced back from a number of 'welcome-to-the-Championship' tackles, no thanks to the ref. Could easily have been MOTM for me.
Other candidates for a good mention were Morris, who, I would guess, made more clean tackles than anybody else on the pitch (OK, the oppo weren't that good). Also Martins (Matheus on his shirt), who reminds me of Cucho - just slightly stockier, slightly slower, but who played a big part in the winning goals.
Big shout out for Choudhury. He made, I'm convinced, a big difference to that match. His tackling is phenomenal.
Cathcart, as has been said, was again a busy rock at the back, and he pushed forward well, too.
Not so impressive, I'm afraid, was Ferreira: To me he looked distinctly shaky defensively, although he clearly is happier carrying the ball forward. One for the future possibly, but not ready yet for a regular first team spot.

Choudhury loves tackling more than any player I've ever seen. I think he dreams of slide tackles.

The one where the defence had a collective brain fart in the 2nd half, and he stormed in out of nowhere was glorious

The most important player in the squad in my opinion
