People disagree with those they work with all the time. I often disagree with my boss. We have a rational conversation about how we think we should proceed, he makes a decision and we then execute. Disagreement doesn't need to be acrimonious.
In this case the boss has come in and said the team can't achieve their primary objective with 4 months of the season left. I can see why that would annoy Bilic.
Think the promotion thing is a bit of a red herring. Far more concerning that the club just went and got a right back Bilic said he didn't need and didn't know anything about.

Most of the posters on this forum (I’d venture all of them really) don’t work for the club, moreover in a position of such close proximity to the manager/sporting director. It’s a false equivalence. I’m a bit baffled as to why you think 2 people who work in such close quarters that have 2 different ideas of what can be achieved in nearly half a season, is no problem at all!
It's not intended as an equivalence. It's an illustration of the fact that the opinion automatics are probably out of reach is a long way from an unreasonable one to voice. I work with people with different opinions all the time and it is, in fact, no problem at all. Different perspectives are a strength, not a weakness, and disagreements don't stop you from being able to work together. Yes-man environments aren't remotely productive.
I mean, if you value JP at £30m, which is either generous or measly depending on your viewpoint, we reportedly paid £9m for Louza, and we are (again reportedly) tied in to paying £15m for Davis if we achieve promotion - it really doesn't take much at all for those sums to add up, frankly. Whether we perform as a £60m+ unit is another question, though I'd be surprised if we couldn't beat anyone in the division with all of those players on the pitch fully fit and playing to capacity. Obviously, the key point doing an awful lot of heavy lifting there is that 'if', and it's not something we've come close to seeing yet this season. Nor do we appear to be, as it stands. And therein lies the rub - whilst that's the case, the backups taking their place aren't remotely fit for purpose.
I agree. But very few air their differences publicly so early. I don’t care what any industry any of us are in - it’s not healthy to have a new partnership at the top of any business airing differing opinions to anyone who cares to listen/read. So I don’t agree really. I’ve agreed with your broad point - but I think the nuances of this being a football club mean it’s not similar. Unless one of your team in your sector has had a meeting with you and then gone shooting his mouth to the contrary to a media willing to listen?

That is fair enough . Was more the listed squad players after those 3 that caught my eye . Some of whom aren’t good enough for the top of this league as you say .
They're barely even disagreeing. Automatics v Playoffs isn't some huge gulf in expectations. Manga is being pragmatic, Bilic optimistic, both opinions are reasonable and justifiable. They're not going to experience a frayed working relationship based on their very slightly different assessments of what's possible in the next 20 games.
Suspect that if you told your boss you needed a new team member to fulfil a particular role and then someone turned up at work who you'd never met to fill a different role that you thought was already covered, you might be a bit annoyed though!

Think it's clear that this is an attempt to appease us fans, but possibly quite a risky one as for all of Manga's good work in Frankfurt, a) he doesn't have any track record in the Championship, and b) from what I've heard, his remit was a lot less wide there
