Bayo at 5m may well be overpriced but he's definitely better value than Gray ever was. Bayo has something about him and does look to play people in as well as regularly find good positions. A run in the team my well improve his conversion rate.
Slightly harsh after yesterdays performance! Let's hope he turns in some more great performances to change your mind!
For once, some half decent footage from the stands which even includes our goal. Fair play to the young web-handed forehead slapper.
Things were going OK at Swansea the other night, until the 39th minute when WTE made one of his errors, after that it went downhill. I hope CK is not out for too long. As we saw for most of today's game, having CC, FS and CK in our backline is extremely effective at Championship level.
No. Deeney Delefeo and Gray were our best strike force in decades at the higher level. Different gravy.
Old school. Does the irritating modern thing of repeating pre prepared post match interviews, but if pressed hard enough will just go off on a tangent. Doesn't sound good about Davis though if that was his reaction
A most welcome and unexpected win, Norwich are in awful form but so were Swansea. It just shows that despite our injury issues, it’s neither that or fitness that has been responsible for the past couple of performances, but rather lack of effort and motivation.
You surely can’t mean the Andre Gray now plying his trade for the mighty FC Aris in the powerhouse Greek league?
Yes the difference in attitude yesterday was really noticeable. Great that we looked so up for it yesterday but shocking that we didn't in the 2 prior games. Those 6 points could make a huge difference at the end of the season. Our reserve 11 can still be competitive in this league if their attitude is right.
I think Bayo and Gray are very similar. Woeful footballers but will pitch in with scrappy goals if they are given decent service. Both a waste of time outside the box.
A word for Morris who walk into the team unexpectedly and gave it his best go, put in a shift and hustled for every ball being a young lad himself. May not have been fantastic but didn't switch off and showed some mental steel that Kamara doesn't sometimes when he gets pissy. Just being up for the fight like he was yesterday can be enough in this league where it matters so much. Done a great job for his first start and coming against Norwich too.
A truly battling performance, incredibly up there with my favourite away days ever. Unexpected and brilliant across the pitch and we probably should have won by more. The owner and hierarchy certainly didn’t deserve that performance. Not that it’ll matter in the grand scheme of promotion due to the laughable injury after injury sketch show that we’re experiencing. Sierralta was a colossus in defence, why he doesn’t play every week is a mystery for the ages. Didn’t give them a sniff and constantly marshalls the dregs around him. The real captain of the team. Gaspar in midfield was a delight. I’m glad I got to witness it. It won’t work against a team who can be bothered but enjoyable nonetheless. Morris is a far better player than Kamara and should keep his place. He was up and down that wing all day, kept Aarons quiet and ended his afternoon early with a lovely late tackle. An enjoyable afternoon. Norwich were truly terrible though. Like the ABBA chant.
This highlights Davis's actual contribution to the team quite well. He is no where near as good as I thought he would be. Shows some nice skills and runs with the ball, but overall not contributing enough.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1610199411224715269 Some say Watford fans are passive, but it's remarkable how many smiles there are on the Norwich fan's faces after we score. Bizarre.
He turned up and showed some effort yesterday which is the minimum that should be expected of a footballer. He can't seem to start games at full back and certainly isn't an option in midfield when players are back, so what use is a 32 year old sitting on the bench picking up a good wage?
He definitely struggled in the first half and Norwich managed to drop the ball in behind him a handful of times and create a few dangerous moments from his side. I was impressed with him in the second half though. And it was nice to see one of our players booked for a proper reducer of a tackle on a dangerous opponent for once rather than the usual nonsense like shoving someone over gently in a non-dangerous position or shirt pulling when there's cover around them.
Yes he put in a shift, as did Ngakia, Gaspar and Bacuna but let's be honest we need way better. But they're what we have atm and we just need to deal with it. Morris does need to strengthen up some, I thought he got eased off the ball easily at times, as did Ngakia. But both grew into the game. They all showed 100% for the cause though and it shows that, that is all that's needed in the this league sometimes.
What a result. The kind of 'never saw it coming' that makes football what it is. But ***'s still annoying that our lot only seem to turn up against the bigger teams in the league. Show that much commitment and desire every week (with a full squad) and we could piss this league.
Great interview but why is there a bloke\gal holding a mobile phone to record it? He has about four microphones picking up the audio. Very strange.
I wouldn't go as far as to say they "turned up" as it was not high in quality,as we would expect. Nor on that and previous performances would I call Norwich a " top" side. They looked dreadful. It does,as you say, show what can be done if you apply yourselves as you darned well should do,every game!
