Have a safe flight, enjoy reading peoples thoughts, so much better than reading about the last 2 matches!
In todays scores competition (with one more match to go) @Irishorn and @The Voice of Reason both have scored 22 points, if @domthehornet had only put us down to score 1 and just lose 19-1 he would also have 22 instead of being stuck on 20"
I want back the €20 laid on a 5-0 defeat . You get use to being let down by Watford as a fan, but today they really let me down as a hopeless gambler. Was my 4-0 prediction at Swansea a fluke? I now have to buy the drinks as l said l would be correct again and the bar owner is a total Toulon rugby fan. He hates football. Oh Watfotd, why me???
I thought Morris had a decent game glued to the touch line. Gave sone excellent crosses, showed some gritt/stupidity, but I have high hopes for the young chap
I can't be the only one thinking Bayo had missed? Anyways that's a cracking win with such a depleted squad, fair play to all involved today.
Lol, I'm no Adam @Burnsy I am simply an ex left back so I could see Morris having the required equipment ibility and special awarness etc to become a useful LB...even if today he was more a wing back 8/10 Saying that, he's no Paul Robinson, but that's some tough boots to fill. As Adan Levemthalz might probably be thinking too, well done young man
With protentially no Davis, Kabs and Kalu for Blackpool, can anyone suggest what the team sheet will look like? I mean yes we will have Kone' and Martins starting (I hope), but anyone else? Even Bachmann looked a bit ropey but fair play for staying on securing the win. Three players in one game, 14 overall, it has to be a record for the club surely. Either the fitness levels are so poor or our medical team is slack. I will say one thing in defense of them mind you, the players we are starting games at the moment would be nowhere near our first team, so match fitness will be an issue for them.
It was one cross. Rest were universally terrible. Still, tried his best so fair play to him! Also, was quick thinking to fake cramp to avoid a second booking after that late tackle.
Haha, yeah I was just making a cheap joke! I’m with you on your appraisal of the boy - let’s hope he uses the next couple of games to firmly put Kamara in the shade at LB. Can’t stand that plank to be honest. At the very least, I hope he puts in performances that at least encourage Kamara to get back to some sort of decent performance levels. Won’t hold my breath on that though.
let’s be honest he is a typical goal hanger , doesn’t really do much but seems to be in the right place to bang it in the back of the net, I know he is t popular but he is no Andre Gray, he has scored 4 times for us.
Checked in, through security, kids aren’t crying/moaning and we have been allowed into Virgin’s First Class Lounge before our flight in 2 hours…. 2023 is looking ace and I’m here drinking a crisp glass of champagne and toasting Sir Mario of Gaspar being the new Xavi. Again, Happy New Year all! X
Think Gray is a really good comparison actually. Neither can control a ball and seem to scuff/shank everything but both make decent runs, get into good positions and have solid enough goal returns for the amount of time on the pitch. Oh, and both overpriced.
How that cobbled together shocker of a side got a win I'll never know. Comforting to see there's a club in more trouble than us
Can't fault the heart and desire shown today. Still can't fathom if we were ok or Norwich are a bag of dog turd. Happy with the points but wtf with all the injuries.
Norwich are such a soft touch. Only that crazy Ranieri last match has spoilt our perfect record against them.
Spot on. There were several stand out performances from some unlikely squad members; Gaspar and Bacuna were the main two, they played to orders and kept it going throughout. I thought that Davis had been coming in for some undue criticism (cancel the loan etc) which I couldn't understand. He was as bad as the rest in S Wales but generally he's been showing up in lots of games when properly supported and fed the ball early as happened today. He was utterly, utterly IMMENSE. Shame the follow up will now be delayed. The speed of our attacking was a revelation today, less tip tap in the back 3/4 after a roll-out from Bachmann and more early passes to our midfield to provide incisive through balls to our deep-lying centre forward, our two wingers and even our 2 wingbacks. Not everything is solved with the injuries and frankly defensively our wingbacks lived on the edge but fair play to Morris after his early woeful crosses he provided a couple of beauties 2nd half. Sarr turned up (strike up the band!), Bayo wasn't fazed by his earlier rocky efforts (I don't think he's one to doubt himself, he leaves that thought to all of us instead) and when called on Asprilla's pass for the goal demonstrated that he could well be our next star if handled into the team carefully as Bilic I think realises. Sierralta is no nonsense and thankfully Kaba and Cathcart followed his lead. Bilic has obviously read the riot act to that defence, 'show leadership, cover for each other and if ever tempted to slide a risky pass through a press just forget it and bash it'. The only point with about 3 mins remaining that genuinely worried me was when the commentator informed us, "Troost-Ekong now in command for Watford...". Fortunately no sting in that tail! Great stuff Orns, well played and well deserved. As Bilic said afterwards 'chapeau' to the team!!
Tremendous performance. Sierralta was bang up for it and think that the shocking tackle galvanised Gaspar who became a real nuisance to them after that. Ngakia did well to stick at it after another very poor start.
Brilliant from Bilic today. To get those pansies up for a match is a massive achievement. Really enjoyed the tenacity shown today, but Norwich are the most limp-wristed side on the planet. It’s unfortunate we only play them twice a season. Davis was fantastic today, and who’s that new midfielder? He was class. Glad Bilic listened to me ( )and put Sierralta and Cathcart in the heart of defence. It makes such a difference. Norwich hardly had a sniff. The cost of victory was high with 3 more injures. Davis will be a big loss, but Kabs might be a blessing. It’s now a couple of weeks before we play a proper game again, so time to hopefully get some players back and blood our new signings in next week’s friendly at Reading.
Massive credit to Bilic for organisation and well done to players for good execution and great determination. I think the XG was 2 for us and 0.5 for Norwich which shows that maybe we should have to another goal or two. Bayo reminds me of Ighalo before he scored that Pen rebound against Brentford and then went on a mammoth 18 month goals scoring stint. Clumsy, sometimes clueless but somehow seems to get into loads of scoring opportunities.
That was such an improvement on the Swansea and Millwall game in terms of effort, but that effort should be guaranteed every game. I thought Morris and Ngakia, after shaky starts, grew into the game and did well. Davis was excellent, Sarr just doesn't do enough. Thought Sierralta did well too after such a long time out. Bayo isn't good but he managed to score! Best thing is that Bilic will stay for now. He got them working today, and I'd been worried that he wasn't able to motivate them. I'd love to know what made the difference.
Bayeux or whatever his surname is. I like to be one step removed. Possibly I should be removed completely especially after two cups of tea!
Must be a pretty easy form table to keep updated, especially as now six of them are crocked. Still it's a good idea and considering how the club never share such information it's nice for fans' to fill that void.
