Get him off now, mind you Freddie had a choice of him or Mavis and he chose Tapestry. Sums him up. Dreadful decision making.
Davis has his best game ...so obviously he is now also injured. I'm sorry but this is not bad luck. This is a pattern.
I'm sure there are plenty of horrors that I've forgotten but right now I can't think of a worse Pozzo era player than Bayo
Very good win and performance in the face of such adversity. Incredible that we pick up another 3 hamstring injuries.
Looking forward to hearing what @LaClusazSki has to say after that! It’s just bizarre. An absolutely makeshift 11 goes and does that. edit: lost a tenner but totally worth it!
Great result, I know Norwich are bobbins but considering the players we have available it's fantastic. Fourth in the league somehow with 15 players out. Bloody marvellous.
Well, well, well! Everything we had requested bar three more injuries. Praise to all, especially Morris Doris and Mavis Davis. Ngakia too after his first five minutes did well, Gasping too. Great ball from the Asp and excellent from Freddie, even Tapestry couldn't miss. Even Troost managed a piece of composed skill at the end. One word on the injuries,I would question the S and C team. I am sceptical of them in tennis to a large extent,a few are excellent but many are dubious. Superb support from the travelling ' Orns. I may have another cup of tea!
Ridiculously good result given the circumstances. Why can they not play with that commitment every game though?? Gaspar, Cathcart and Davis the pick of the bunch for me.
We are obviously in a world of trouble squad wise - and need 4-5 new players before we next play with a striker an absolute must. But crikey - no complaints about the desire and effort out there tonight. Special word for Gaspar - thought he was superb given the circumstances. And Morris had a tale of 2 halves…shocking in the first half but a player reborn in the second. Ngakia was really quite poor…but again, cannot fault the fact he gave his all. And kudos to Bachmann - clearly injured enough to go off and showed real fight and desire to stay on. And I won’t go too mad about praising Sarr - largely ineffective, even if he did get involved a bit more than he had in recent weeks. And I know he doesn’t show his ability nearly enough….but his turn of pace and composure for the assist? We don’t have another player who can do that and I still think it’s a bit mad to wish him sold given our current circumstances and goals.
We were the slightly less clueless of two rotten teams and, I felt, deserved to win. Incredible that we're still handily placed in the league despite our injuries and inconsistency.
First of all change the bloody thread name! Grit, determination and bravery shown in buckets there, even after suffering more injuries they pulled together. That quality we do have showed in the goal, great ball from Asprilla, Sarr did his thing and even Bayo couldnt miss from there. Totally unexpected result, Norwich are in the **** mentally by the look of it but get a decent coach in and they should improve. Very happy with the result but even more happy with the massive improvement in attitude. Lastly isnt it about time we made peace with that Nigerian witch doctor? Must have voodoo dolls of our players or has cursed the physio team.
Back up to 4th, above that lot down the road, and now we are able to unleash our new signings (if they don't get injured first!), suddenly things aren't looking QUITE so bad as at 3pm today!
Bloody hell what a win that is with that team and the extra injuries on top! Davis and Ngakia close fight for mom Mass sackings required in the warm up / cool down / recovery / conditioning team(s)
Great team spirit from the lads in what is a challenging period of about 14 injuries. Bit of quality from Sarr sets up the tap in goal. Davis was dangerous first half. Thought we edged it overall. On to the next one, home to Blackpool. (I don't much care about the FA Cup game tbh with all the absences, just play the kids.)
Well, I didn't see that coming. For Bilic to cobble together that line up and get a win away at a decent (but out of form) side is absolutely incredible, huge credit needed. Turns out Gaspar is a better CM than a RB. Morris was a competition winner in the first half but to be fair he didn't let his head drop and was much improved in the second. Sarr was absolute crap but showed when he wants to, he can win a game. Sierralta was exactly what we need from a CB, won every header, didn't **** about with it. Not sure what was said in the last couple of days but good to see these mercenaries suddenly *do* give a **** about the club. Starting to think the injury crisis is some sort of elaborate hidden-camera prank show. Absurd situation.
Typical Watford eh ? Even managed to survive the injury time . Great performance in the circumstances. Mind you need even more players now .
The cup game could be a good opportunity to bed in the newbies (wonder if this new Portuguese right-back will be available), although I am worried they'll get injured if they play!
A strange game, but a fantastic result. We showed much more heart and deserved the win. However, our injury situation is just laughable. We won away against a promotion rival with Ngakia, Morris, Becuna and Bayo (who ends up scoring ). If we could get Sarr on his game again, it would be a huge boost. Davis was exceptional before the injury. Defence was solid, but Morris is out of his depth. I’m trying to be positive, but we are right up against it for the next 6-8 weeks. Bilic did well today too.
Wow, what an unbelievable game that was - in more ways than one. Firstly, we actually looked like a team today somehow! Remarkable given how patched up the team was. There was a lot of commitment shown by the players for once and that was definitely a reaction to the last couple of performances. The only player who still didn't really seem to put their full effort in was Sarr, yet again, but also yet again he showed that even when only playing at 60% he has the ability to be the difference maker in a way that most our other players, and players at this level, can. It shows it's not a given he could be replaced easily if sold, it would be good if we could just get that from him more often! Bayo's all-round game was mostly crap when he came on, but yet again he showed that he's at least a poacher. He got a bit of stick from the commentators for the chance he missed before, but I thought that was a tad harsh as it seemed Davis was basically tackling him and the ball also appeared a bit behind him. It practically goes without saying now that the injury situation has become extraordinary. It's pretty disgraceful tbh?! Did the club not condition players properly in the summer?! Did Edwards take too much of a relaxed attitude to player fitness? Do we even have a functioning medical department right now?! One thing's for sure - the whole department clearly needs a complete overhaul on this season's evidence, I know at least one member of the staff have been fired recently, clearly there needs to be more change. The only silver lining of Davis getting injured today (right at the very moment he was looking a handful again) is that it means we surely must push the boat out on a much needed extra forward in January. MotM between Gaspar, Cathcart and Sierralta. Gaspar has been poor at RB, remarkably he actually put in his best performance of the season at CM; he was winning everything in the midfield. Sierralta provided some much needed fight in there. Cathcart was solid and some of his passing was excellent. Morris and Ngakia still seemed slightly weak links out there, but for once Morris actually resembled a footballer who might be at least cut out for the Championship as a back-up. He was tired towards the end, and mis-hit a few passes, but also was fairly composed in possession overall and put in one or two decent balls. That was a bit of a miracle from Bilic really. Finally, thank heavens for Norwich, who often manage to find a way to still be even more of a shambles than we are, even when we think things can't be any worse for us.
