Ritchie Valens. (Who died with Buddy Holly* and The Big Bopper) *Graham Taylor's favourite. These things matter.
What happened to the previous sporting director - the one whose fruity wife sends him 'up skirting' pictures of herself when he's away on business? Did his palms become too hairy and his eyesight too weak to do the job properly?
Still have no idea why he'd want to join us, but he's probably the most exciting signing we've made since Pereyra.
Encouraging to know his cousin is Juan Oborou ( plays for TV Jahn Heinsfeld for those who don’t know )
I watch plenty of TV and have never heard of Juan or Jahn. Was one of those guys on “I’m a celebrity, get ……etc” a few years back ?
I’ve never heard of either of them . Not sure what happens after letter Z in the alphabet but whatever it is he is one of those list celebrities
I'm hopeful that any major investment will be a positive disruptor - putting the club on a stable long term footing - ( this is just my opinion not based on knowledge or evidence)
Giaretta stays as Sporting Director according to Andrew French. Pozzo really has changed, fair play to him.
I see it as a major demotion for Giaretta. What’s his job now? Sounds like he’s going to be Bilic’s b1tch to me. Manga is going to get all the juicy bits scouting and signing players. I have no problem with the new setup. It is probably expensive but a lot more professional. This surely has to pay dividends further down the line. With the news Julian D1cks has joined it appears that we are really strengthening off the field. I find it quite exciting that the club seems to have finally woken up from its slumber.
I don't believe he was doing that much of our recruitment anyway to be honest. Bayat was clearly running most of it but in an unofficial, non disclosed and highly dubious capacity. If he's out and Manga is in, then it's a step in the right direction.
I really doubt (for a few reasons) that Bayat is out. He was sat next to Gino even after the Manga story broke.
Yeah, but we are skint so I don’t think we have the cash to pay Pozzo cronies who don’t seem to have a role. Maybe as you say nothing has changed and it’s just Manga for Bayat effectively.
What are those reasons? Would be interested to hear them. I presume we've at least matched Manga's salary and that's a fair chunk of money if he's coming in but will be told to buy Bayat players...
I still suspect there’s some Bayat funds tied up in the club that perhaps makes it difficult to untangle him from the club and get him gone - just my opinion though. I’ve heard some stories but nothing concrete and certainly not anything I’d like to publicly state on here.
Well generally there is only one director per film set so as long as we have two or more directors that would be true.
Alas I was exaggerating. Top Gun Maverick had 29 people on the credits with 'director' in their job title... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1745960/fullcredits
Having worked as senior crew member on over 50 films on major budget movies, I can assure you there is generally only one person who is known as and referred to as the director.
Ah good , I’ve been meaning to ask you for years why every film you ve made since Duel has been absolutely sh1te.
Most definitely , I’ve been sat in screenings on MI films where TC absolutely destroyed the director in front of everybody. Was pretty embarrassing tbf. On big Hollywood movies often the directors are not auteurs but guns for hire and often have less experience and influence than other senior crew like the DoPs , editors , production designers etc . It’s not unusual for directors to be hired to get the film in the can and then sacked so the producers can take control of the edit .
