Whilst we are winning the World Cup Australians are having unfortunate accidents at birthday parties. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/63613930
Amazing, i no longer feel haunted by the 2016 final. Back then i was at a pub where an aussie wildly celebrated West Indies winning. It's taken a long time of waiting but winning it in Australia feels all the sweeter
Pretty impressive considering we had 3 first choice pace bowlers out in Topley, Wood and Archer and 2 first choice batsmen in Malan and Bairstow ( 3 if you count a strangely out of form Roy.) Serious depth in that squad .
I reckon if we win most of them between now and summer and then trounce the Ozzies we should be pretty close to being ranked no 1 test team which is harder than winning the championship which is a mini knockout .
Getting stuffed by the Aussies in a 50 over game. 3 games that I imagine the players could have done without
Let Warner, Smith and the other cheats have their nothing victories. Our lot will be busy rubbing themselves with trophies on the way home.
Don't think the match was even referred to on BBC breakfast, and given they are constantly scraping around trying to find anything to fill their program, it shows the importance attached to this. Wonder what cricket management's view will be given the half-hearted approach and Ali's comments pre-series ? Supportive of the players or angry/disappointed ? Who is Alex Hartley ? Part of the text commentary team she's just posted "England will learn from this series. They've got a load to take from it because they have been absolutely hammered in all three games."
Players didn't care or want to be there and neither did the crowd. Looks like less than 1000 fans in the MCG!
Oh dear - test series v Pakistan starts tomorrow and most of the squad have food poisoning it seems! Taken their own chef too..
They're saying it's a bug rather than food poisoning but nice to see us getting the runs before the game even starts!
