Hopefully Senegal can beat England in last 16.

 

Enjoyed the Ecu v Sen game, Ismaila putting himself in the window for Jan I think, great performance, won and scored a pen and he put in some tackles too!!!

The Senegal fans are magnificent, found myself dancing along with them hahaha.

 

So Sarr can score penalties after all!

 

Didn't the wind move the ball slightly before Sarr struck the Millwall penalty which diverted it away from the keeper?

 

Previously the World Cup had 24 teams like the Euros, so even less jeopardy, think 32 teams is the sweet spot, enough scope for upsets but without the quality being diluted too much, 48 will be ****

As a Welshman, I feel our chances against England are rather weak; but, there's always a chance we might win and the other game ends in a draw, so happy days all around for England and Wales; u til the round of 16 and another loss to Holland.

So England have just gone 2-0 up. The fans wake up, cheer and clap politely, then go back to sleep again having had the passion sucked out of them by another clinically boring performance. There is no atmosphere in the ground. England will win the World Cup by literally boring everyone else to death. Zzzzz.

First half was basically attack vs defence, and it worries me that we find it so difficult to break teams down.

Rashford just scored his third. Was about to call him a greedy so and so, but well taken.

 

The third wasn’t well taken, it was a poor shot straight at the keeper who screwed it up !!

 

We’ve looked very good this half.

 

I think it's just quite difficult to break through against a team that has dug in and is determined to keep the score 0-0 for as long as possible. It requires patience, perhaps a change of players, and some time for the mental fatigue of concentrating to start to take its toll so the gaps open up. And that's pretty much what's happened.

 

Anyone watching England and not Iran USA after it went 2-0 is an idiot.

 

England were miles ahead of poor old Rob Page’s outfit. England are contenders, no doubt.

Congrats on going through to the English and USA (if there are any on this forum) Watford fans, well deserved!

 

Drone was vs Albania. There were also pitch invasions in that match, and one fan interrupted an interview for our national television and chanted against Serbian president. That was a wild match all around and one that I don't remember fondly (I don't like when politics and football clash and that's why I won't get into details, let's just say there are things that both sides could have done better) .
Back to the match, I just want to see our team finally fulfil its potential (I actually see some similarities in England and Serbia as we both tend to underperform, I think I mentioned that during last Euros).

I’m always impressed with Serbian athletes and this team is no exception. On a side note, if you pit every World Cup team into an all out death match, OR a basketball tournament, I have no doubt Serbia would emerge victorious. I hope you take that as a compliment as intended.

 

Or English. Why would I watch other nations when England are playing and beating a home nation rival handsomely?
