It was very odd, he specifically mentioned how Raphina and Vini Jr. could take the heat off of Neymar, without mentioning their starting number 9.

Is he a fascist? Just the flimsiest of evidence needed for me to add it to my dossier of reasons to hate Neymar

Remember Bobby Pereyra kept him on the Watford bench for 6 months.

    "The excitement, the guaranteed entertainment."

I'm sure he can't remember that very unentertaining, hard physical Brazil side at the West Germany 1974 World Cup.

TBF that was pretty much a one-off, wasn’t it?

Nonetheless they are always overrated by the media.

(No doubt they will win the tournament at a canter now).

First ex-Watford player to score in the World Cup finals - even though he's been crap. He smells of goals, apparently.

Richarlison is now the FIRST ex Watford player to score 2 goals in a World Cup this decade.

That man being the caretaker of the Amazon is scarier than any form of fascism probably. The guy who beat him is probably pretty dodgy but it was still a relief.

Oh, I concur. It's just that fascism isn't the right term for populist ***** like him that get in with the full support of the population, sold on empty promises and charisma. It's become a common pattern these days.

Which other former Watford players have scored at world cups? Or scored twice/twice in a game?

John Barnes maybe? There can’t be too many.

Did Barnes score for England at a World Cup? I’m too young to know but seems like he had a goal disallowed against Belgium and then was out with injury.

Trying to find/figure out the list of former Watford players to have scored a World Cup goal.

Don’t think the Richarlison goal was as good as the one Andre scored.

    Round 1:
    No goals - 4 matches
    One goal - 2 matches
    Two goals - 4 matches
    Three goals - 2 matches
    Five goals - 2 matches
    Seven goals - 1 match
    Eight goals - 1 match

So swashbuckling England lead the pack, inspired as they are by devil-may-care Gareth. Let's see how Round 2 goes.

Ref should have had a yellow shirt on. Is it just me that hates Neymar and thinks he is spectacularly overrated?

We were quite poor, especially in the second half and deserved to lose.

That being said, referee was pathetic. Casemiro elbowed our players two times, Paqueta stomped Mitrovic, etc. No cards and usually no fouls either. Someone touches Neymar and co and it's a foul. Disgraceful performance from him. And Brazil was pathetic with their constant diving. I'm still optimistic, and I'm sure we can beat both Cameroon and Switzerland.
