    You are absolutely correct .
However , even after winning the title he cannot help himself but to resort to dark arts .
A winner. Not nice . But a winner nevertheless

Trying to show who is boss but that was a bit petty.

Congratulations to Russell - well deserved and Mercedes got their tactics spot on.

Max is losing respect very quickly. There's drive to win, but today he was just being a tosser.

    Excellent for George and McClaren.

How many times has Ricciardo ended up having to apologise for putting someone's car out of the race? Especially K-Mag.

    Great race overall. Proper track.

Max has always been a massive pr1ck. It was only a matter of time before everyone else picked up on it. No skin off his nose to jet his teammate pass, but he wouldn’t do it. There’s a time to be a single minded winner and there’s a time when you should be a team player. He has a lot to learn it terms of being a decent human being.

Really pleased for George and Lewis today. Two of the nicest guys in F1.

No, just a bell3nd. I've no fuss with ruthless winners but there was nothing at stake for him yesterday, not even a podium place, and Checo played a key part in Max's title win last season. Rumour has it the beef's to do with Monaco and Perez crashing out in Q3 causing the session to end. If that's true it makes Max seem even more pathetic.

People have tried to claim that Max is a lot more likeable this year. Forgetting that it's easy to seem calm when you're a second faster than everyone else, and he still managed to harshly abuse his team, the best team in F1, over the radio.

If you look at his Dad, his team principal and Marko, you can see how they've created and encouraged a monster.

This exactly. After last years pathetic end to the season I was hoping that Max would make amends by being the consummate professional this year and be a be role model for the sport. I was even ready to support him.
As mike just said, he's becoming one big immature monster, a bl**dy fast one but a monster for sure.

Yup. Either he refused to give up a non podium place to help his team mate because he's selfish and immature, and leaking a story of his team cheating/ concealing cheating as a dead cat.

Or he is genuinely still bitter and leaking previous cheating in his team that he, his teammate and his team have deliberately concealed from the officials.

Good win for Russell, well deserved. Comes across as a nice chap, as does Albon, Norris etc. Maybe they doesn't have the killer instict, selfishness and ****ishness of an early Hamilton, Vettel, Schumacher etc.
This may mean he'll end up like a Damon Hill or a Button and scrape a championship rather than go on to win many.

Vettel at the moment is displaying a level of ****ishness that may well gain him more championships in the future. With Whinger Spice as team boss it's the perfect combination, although he might well have overstepped the mark this weekend. Let's see if Horner has the balls to do anything. I fully expect Max to calm down in years to come but at the moment he is a steaming turd.

Not sure you mean Vettel! Although parallels from Vettel's early days can certainly be drawn.

I personally don't find Russel that pleasant, especially his actions after he caused the crash against Bottas and some of his moaning on team radio, although he's much more likable than Max.

Yep an early Vettel, was a bit of an arse as well. All mellow over time and with experience, but Max appears to have set a new level to start at.

Sure Red Bull will be delighted with Verstappen basically suggesting Perez crashed on purpose in qualifying to gain an advantage on him at Monaco !

Probably fake, but a tweet by Max’s mum was circulating where she accused Perez of cheating on his wife after his win in Monaco

Leclerc just gets 2nd ahead of Perez .

Probably makes you think what could have been really .

Nice to see Vettel get a point in his final race .

Watched so little F1 this season. The ludicrous finale in the previous season completely turned me off the sport. Verstappen is so unlikable, as to make watching him win intolerable, and his team (managers and owners, not Perez) are also impossible to warm to. When you get a negative view about a sport, it is difficult to see a way back, but you never know.

Don't worry, once the person who drove you away (pun alert) starts losing and sulking it actually makes you really want to watch the races. That's the reason I've started watching more regularly these past two seasons!

Binged drive to survive over the last couple of days, such a good watch!

To those who’ve not seen it, it’ll come as no surprise to hear that Gunther is regularly the highlight.

Another boring old procession this year then for Red Bull ? First Mercedes now RB. Williams continue to prop up the rest of the field on their pitiful budget.

Although Albon got a good point for them .

    Sadly probably right though .

Ferrari will keep messing up and Mercedes are even behind Aston now .

McLaren look like they will have a shocker

Guess Perez will probably get into trouble for not letting Max past.

Also probably be a few questions to answer at Ferrari - even behind Mercedes today.

Aston Martin already on 38 points, having only got 55 points in the whole of last season! What a start.

Was watching the Croatia leg of the WRC. Very sad news this week with the death of Irish driver Craig Breen in testing on the road this week. It's a close knit community and everyone associated has been greatly affected. Sincere condolences to his family. His motto was 'You have to have fun, life is too short'.

This weekend's F1 race at Imola has been cancelled.

I imagine the FIA is scouring the rule book as we speak to work out how to award Max and Red Bull the points for 1st and 2nd.

Another fairly boring procession for Verstappen. When will Aston Martin dispense with Stroll. He's clearly not on the level of a F1 driver and only there thanks to papa. If Aston are serious about doing well in the Constructor's they need to jettison him.

Problem with Monaco is that baring any major incidents then it’s a procession for whoever qualifies 1st, Max or otherwise.

I completely get the prestige & tradition and of course there’s a lot of skill required to not find yourself in a wall/barrier. However, Saturday should never be the most exciting part of the weekend.

Yeah Lance is a massive clown, way out of his depth.
