A mason said "Last night was a shambles, let's stick together as a single group"
But someone from the crowd suggested, "If we stick together and we're all attacked? What then?"
The mason thought for a moment, "We can go in pairs."
One of the crowd said, "I will keep a note of who's paired with who."
"That's a good idea", responded the mason, "but let's bury Cthulhu first."
After they buried Cthulhu in a dignified way, everyone packed up their belongings then they set off for another night's trek.

One of the group was paired with Horace_goes_up_north, they talked a lot as they walked through the desert. "It's very dark tonight", quipped Horace.
"Yes", replied his companion, "but it looks like the sky is clearing and the Moon will guide us."
A few minutes later the Moon did break through, Horace saw his companion look up at the Moon and his eyes glazed as if in a trance. Horace shouted, "Are you OK? I'll get help", he ran and shouted "HELP, HELP, HEEEEEEELLLLLLLP".
Across the open ground many of the other pairs could hear the resounding screams of terror, many of them scattered as they panicked. Then all of a sudden the screams stopped.

The guardian took out their silver dagger and strapped it to a torch creating a makeshift bayonette. Looking around in the darkness they could see a occasional shape of someone, "Keep together", shouted the guardian. They kept looking across the rocky terrain, night vision was kicking in a bit now; as they moved forward the guardian saw a body on the ground, next to something fuzzy looking. Cautiously creeping forward the guardian got closer and closer, it was a body all right but next to it was just a thorny bush. The guardian came up to the body, in the torchlight the guardian saw that the person was indeed dead, deep lacerations across his face but in his hand still had the list of who had been walking with who, the guardian saw it was torn and smeared with red blood. The list was useless.

Quietly moving on, the guardian heard more noises, shortly stumbling across the odd person, "stay exactly where you are, I'm covering your position", to each one they passed. A little while later passing a cave, the guardian shone the torch in, there was Optimistichornet, he stood frozen in the light, "Get out of there", said the guardian, "I will protect you".
"No", I'm safer here he said.
"Why?" Do you not trust me?"
"There are noises coming from everywhere, LOOK!"
The guardian spun around, they saw a wolf with its eyes fixed firmly on Optimistichornet in cave opening. "BEGONE FOUL BEAST", shouted the guardian pointing the makeshift bayonette at the wolf. The wolf howled and ran away.
"Come Opti", the guardian said calmly, "you are safe now, we must stick together as a group, and we need to bury Horace."
    "Thanks", said Optimistichornet gratefully.

    Horace_goes_north was good.

Good play from the Guardian last night!

What is the significance of Horace having the list? He was just good so he wasn't the seer as Otter posted this previously:

    Is it meaningless?

    Tremendous work Guardian.

So... two wolves and possibly a traitor. Let the hunters become the hunted!

Apologies for leading the charge for Cthulhu but I did say that I needed to vote early. And I did admit my logic was flimsy.

I posted this after having to vote early:

Reading through what I missed last night, I can't believe others jumped on the bandwagon and voted for essentially a random, poor hunch I had over moog.

These are the players who voted for Cthulhu:

    • wfcmoog
    • Optimistichornet
    • AshdonWFC
    • tonycotonstache
    • nornironhorn
    • TomWatfordFC
    • Horace_goes_up_north

    Good morning !!

Well done guardian, it could have been a lot worse.

I may have misread or interpreted it wrong, but was the guardian trying to protect more than one person? They went from the group to Opti.

I had to go early so had to make a random vote, Tom based on him being quiet for two days. I think it's impossible for someone to vote, even with good reason, not be seen as leading a charge if people jump on. I thought you made it clear when you voted your reasons.

Agreed. Was a bonkers choice for people to fall in behind.

tonycotonstache and TomWatfordFC have been very quiet so far, not really helping Team Good. Would be nice to hear a bit more from them today about what they think is going on.

Hopefully we'll be back down to two messages today and things should become clearer.

Very frustrated I wasn’t around more yesterday and surprised I wasn’t killed last night, but working from home today so should be much more active.

I’m going to look through the messages and see how on earth the village didn’t vote for one of two named evils, and lynched a random that tells us nothing about the game.

It's meaningless in the scheme of things, read line 4. The hope was someone would have a note of who was travelling with who and the list got destroyed and the travellers got scattered.

It's just narrative , the guardian protected one person. Unlike when we do this in a "village" where the guardian sits on the porch it's more of a rod I made for myself!

Morning all and well done Guardian. RIP Horace. Really need some clarity from the Seer today after yesterday’s shitshow. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we don’t have a dozen messages today..
I’m out now until this afternoon so will catch up then.

Well, my thinking was explained I think. I knew I was good, I am pretty sure you are good and so I had to make an early call for who I thought was acting most untoward. For me that was SLB and Ctulhu, though SLB was making himself far to0 front and centre for a wolf, though possibly he could be a traitor, as he's been quite active in trying to steer the group one way or the other.

    My opinion of yesterday's messages:

    Message 1 - Wolf
Message 2 - Wild card, possibly traitor?
Message 3 - Seer - exonerating you and me.

TBH I did not expect the crowd to all vote for Cthulhu and was expecting to be lynched myself based on the dodgy message and the vocal support for it from certain quarters. I'll let people go back and read yesterday's thread to see who was the most culpable on that score.

I need Seer to help me out today otherwise I fully concede that out of the two of us, I am the most likely to be lynched. I don't have any belief for one second that yesterday's 1st message, naming you evil was from the Seer.

Did I miss any discussion as to what Harrow's role was?

We have two wolves and no mention of a full-moon yet (unless I've missed something).

Could Harrow have simply been the traitor?

  14. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

I think we ruled him out as the Alpha wolf at least, since we received a message from both wolf and seer on Day 1, but Harrow was seemingly absent all day. It would have been weird for him to come online to send his message but not post, thus resulting in his death.

Morning, I’d like to say that I think our wolf has targeted the two people who asked me about my vote yesterday in an effort to set me up.

To clarify, instincts told me it wasn’t Cthulhu, Moog I was unsure on but also didn’t feel wolfy. Ashdon just gave me wolfie feels, that’s all I can say.

Thanks to the guardian for saving me last night, it was much appreciated.

    Established facts:

If NI is evil then Ashdon is good
If NI is good then message 2 or 3 yesterday is the seer style.
At least one of message 2 and 3 yesterday is from an evil player

    Anonymous message #1 (received 10:08)

Morning on this sunny day villagers. Your seer here.

Today not much is clearer. Earlier I viewed Moog. He is Good. So far, I have viewed Good Ashdon and Evil Nornironhorn.

Hopefully after my pick tomorrow there won’t be any evil left.

I'm baffled the style of message which most of us believe to be the wolf is continuing with their message format.

If yesterday's 'extra message' was a one-time only thing, then the next message could be huge for us.

Remember seer, outline all your views (and their status) when posting.

Agree, there's no logical reason why a wolf would do it, unless they were a really bad/ inexperienced player.

The same with the pick of Moog. Why would a wolf pick him again and pretty much confirm him as good? Normally they're trying to spread chaos and put as many people under the spotlight as possible.

  27. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

On the one hand, I'm keen for any message which vindicates me to be trusted, but on the other, I've been confident that Norn is good and that this is the wolf messaging.

Having said that, however, I was party to the absolute **** show in one of the previous games, where we all decided nearly 100% certainly that one set of messages was the Seer and were totally wrong (tbf, I think we were misled by an early tinker viewing).

    Why?

For what it's worth, I'm almost 100% convinced you're good.

  29. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

True, a wolf could come out today and either name someone else as evil, or just mimic the style of the seer from yesterday and absolutely stir the current chaos to fever pitch.

3 messages with a random quote and a match attendance would pretty much create havoc. I think last time Mike you were one of the earliest to identify which messages were correct. I was one of the last to twig.

I think I was basing it on yesterday's messages. I assumed that one of the attendance messages MUST have been from the seer, or else why would one of the evil players have mimicked it?

Having said that, the random evil player given the extra message yesterday could very easily have no more idea than I do about who sent what.

If I was the traitor then Harrow would obviously have been a wolf (unless there was some other non specified Evil role).

I encouraged people to vote for Harrow, setting out the probability when there still about two and half hours left for him to post and this swayed people to vote for him. It makes absolutely no sense to have me down as the traitor.

We just have to wait to see what the 2nd and hopefully last message says

Withholding judgment on the messages until we see what the second (and possibly third!) say.

I haven't really thought it through, but couldn't the alpha have the ability to send another message once in the game and sent both messages?

If so, the alpha said you were evil in message 2. They then realised that if you were killed and found to be good, then it would prove the first messages today and yesterday were from the seer (and or they were nervous at comments that it had to be one of Moog or NI). So they sent another message contradicting their first message.

It's a very smart move, as everyone would assume one of the later two messages was from the seer and even if you were killed no one would know if NI was good or evil, or which style of message was correct.

I just don't see why a wolf would basically confirm you as good and keep going with a style people don't believe.

If NI is evil, that would confirm Ashdon and you as good.
