Check out charity shops. They often have old monitors if you don't have any fancy needs. Alternatively, Ebay or Facebook marketplace sometimes have serviceable items.

Absolutely. I've had 2x unused Sony 15 inchers in my cupboard for nearly a decade. I eventually donated them to work who were too tight to replace the 13 inch ones I had there.

Ebay Facebook marketplace places like Cex. Most people would be happy to get shot for free if you pickup. Place a request on your Nextdoor group.

As an alternative if it's just for CCTV then you don't actually need anything of any quality. Likely it'll work of HDMI so a small TV will be OK, no need for a monitor.

You’re setting up CCTV in a cupboard? What are you monitoring: mice?

  4. Ah good shout. I assumed a monitor would be just a cheaper option to a TV as it's more basic but looking at small TVs there are a few sub £100 that are better than monitors. Who knew.

Just double check the TV does the resolution/refresh that the CCTV system outputs. Should do really but it's possible the CCTV is a bit weird.
