The irony of our complete lack of planning and thought this season that sees our final PL goal scored by a player not originally in the 23 man squad announced in January. While we include a defender who hasn’t kicked a ball in anger for us since.

Don't be fooled by the title of a thread, if you think the comments inside are only on that subject you are reading the wrong forum.

A good read, refreshing to hear some honesty from our lads, only thing I'd say is his comments on Kucka read like sour grapes, especially when you consider both players' performances against Villa

Christ, it's got so bad that I'm begging us to pick Dan Gosling again...

He’ll be thinking when does his chance come ?

Yep. Right now he's just about our only hope. Terrifying times.

Two years ago in the Championship - Gosling just about passable.

This year in the Championship - may as well put a shirt on a wheelie bin and leave it in the middle of the pitch.

He's come on a few times and looks completely off the pace. He adds absolutely nothing to our midfield but will stay purely because we need bodies in there.

Still thinks he deserves a place in the team ?

He was OK last time so that automatically means that'll never change and he's fine this time, remember? Same as Cleverley.

It was quite funny when he got smashed in the nuts though. I’ll give him that. My kids thought it was hilarious.

Credit where credit is due, Gosling looks by far the best RB we have in the squad this season. Played well vs Norwich and deserves to keep his place in the starting line up when our actual RBs get over the sniffles, or whatever it is they're pretending to have.

  18. Chumlax

Very limited when it comes to supporting the attack/overlapping, though - he's basically just a seasoned professional with a brain; that's what we're seeing. It really shouldn't stop us (but, I'm sure, will) going into the market for an actual genuine right back in January.

Yes particularly near the end with one chance saving tackle.

Was a bit worrying for a moment as he and Cathcart had got caught out originally.

We have two right backs in the squad. No chance we sign another unless one leaves

Played his part in 3 wins playing in two positions. We need experienced players around, so it's pleasing to see

He’s done brilliantly and at time when much needed due to injuries.

Playing the Ben Watson role in getting promotion. Experience is key to helping young players but also to manage the game, which he does really well. A foul here and there to slow down Cardiff momentum and getting in the refs ear. Came into the squad and fitted in perfectly. I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t continue in the starting 11 as results have improved massively with him playing and he has hasn’t really put a foot wrong

I'm hearing that, on the back of this career threatening injury, he's just put pen to paper on a new four year deal.
