I like Wiper and True, but once again really have to bang the drum for Left Handed Giant when it comes to Bristol Breweries. Their standard 'Sky Above' pale ale is a delicious modern IPA style, and they have a great deal of other interesting beers from citra and pils to collab-produced imperial stout with Mexican chilli and chocolate. Favourite for me is the 'Solitude' coffee, hazelnut and vanilla stout.
I get Kalu starts instead of Sarr, who is on the bench so he can't be too serious. Why not start JP? Is it fatigue? I really do not get that odd lineup. Sierralta hasn't been great but he is our best defender on his day. Bizzare.
Can you only get this from the brewery, I’ve never seen it in a pub round here? Wiper and True is fairly readily available.
Despite his two goals on Tuesday, I felt that in general Pedro was quite poor, plus he was anonymous last Saturday. So I partly get why he's been benched. However even in a crap game Pedro has the skill to do something magical and create a chance from nothing, so I would have liked to see him start.
12 days into November and the younger players in our squad are so unfit they can only play 20 or 30 minutes. What a club.
I'd be licking my lips if I were a Bristol player. Not the first time we've opted to rest players away there, eh Mr Zola.
Ostensibly really strange, neither Sarr nor Pedro staring, esp with Asprilla out injured. Does the club not want to win today? Is it 'cos we feel guilty at sacking Pearson too early, and if we to win well today he might get sacked by Bristol City, and we would then feel responsible for him getting sacked twice ??
A point here would feel like a win with this lineup. But there is no reason they cannot at least try to win the game.
No problem with the line up. Pedro and Sarr both could do with a break after games on sat Tue sat Tue sat... And both coming on for the last 20 minutes if we need may be game changers. Kalu has been good, so has Gosling and so has Gaspar truth told.
Got knocks apparently but then presume they will come on if required? JP has a month to recover as well .
It's definitely niche in comparison to Wiper and True, who are stocked in Waitrose at this point, for sure, but I first discovered them in a really cool tiny bar in Exeter called 'Tabac', so they are out there. Definitely won't be in a lot of pubs, I'd imagine, though. My experiences with them are mostly ordering from their website. I haven't been in person, but I understand they have a pretty cool brewpub down near the wharf/docks somewhere? My Bristol knowledge is limited to a visit as a teenager and driving directly around it a million times on the way to Devon, tbh.
Their fans not too hopeful but then seen that before ! https://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/218762-watford-at-home-match-thread/page/3/
Cramming the games in before the WC break has taken its toll by the look of it, still got enough there to win though, COYH!
Presumably Kayembe will play the no 10 role? Not sure how that’s gonna work out . Asprilla must be injured as well
The jist is they risk injury by starting which means a 3 week break would likely be recovery and then their not ready for Christmas. I think we will see Sarr have a break after the world cup as well.
I think we have some weary players and some with knocks. Bilic clearly believes in the replacements having spent more time with them - keep it tight first half and then bring JP on for last 30 if needed.?
Saving our attacks for the 2nd half ? https://www.flashscore.com/match/C0sXjSs6/#/match-summary/match-statistics/0
He did say there were a few with an illness during the week, because otherwise I don't think that excuse washes, because every other team is in the same boat!
A bit depressing to think that not much more than 18 months ago we pipped Brentford to automatic promotion yet they get an incredibly gutsy and deserved victory at Man City and we can’t even get a shot on goal all first half at a struggling Championship side. But this is the Championship and even the top sides have games like this when it’s largely about a means to an end. Just hope we turn on the style when it really matters this half!
