That is some strange logic, if we’d spent the £32m on players we actually needed we might not have gone down, so at the very least even if we’d gone down the next season we’d still be £100m+ better off than we are now. We didn’t spend £32m on one player as a PL club so we could get promoted from the championship.
I think davisp2 is saying keep him in Jan instead of selling for £30m as we will recoup that figure by being promoted
Yes, sorry if that’s the case that makes sense and I agree. Although of course there is zero chance we get £30m for Sarr in January anyway, when £25m was the max in the summer with an extra 6 months on his deal.
Indeed it would be funny if posters ever suggested that their presence was essential to shoutbox existing and that it’s a punishment to others if they don’t come on. It WAS great comeback win. They showed great bottle in coming back in terrible conditions despite missing Louza, Cathcart and the 3 main summer loan signings.
Ironic that Burnley should profit from another team's time wasting given they habitually wasted time from the second minute under Dyche.
Agreed. If I ever heard someone at a game near me talking about their favourite movies, I’d give them a piece of my mind and request their immediate removal with a physical warning. I don’t care what your favourite Stallone movie is, I ain’t ever seen Terminators and never will so have no idea how good he is in it. If you want movies, go to the cinema, not the football you nerds. Also I thought Gaspar did well last night.
Also, what I find puzzling is that we have a number of people saying the shoutbox is full of negative fans. But many of those same people do push the narrative that the ‘negative’ forum members are in the minority… So rather than just moan about how negative the shoutbox is, it wouldn’t really be that hard for the positive majority to flood the shoutbox and drown out the negative voices. Why doesn’t that happen?
I’m pretty sure they’re the same people that actively go in to threads about things like ex players and comment on why people are still commenting on them.
Now I've seen the replays, it looks like as Bayo was about to jump one of the defenders pushed him, just as well because Sierralta's header would have struck Bayo.
One big reason could be that they feel like they could be drowned out perhaps? Especially when we start losing in games there is a lot of vitirol in their, and tempers can quickly flair up - as it's more or less right in the moment - it's perfectly understandable for anger to set in. Most people come onto the forum match days to read the match thread which is more or less updated by regular posts. If they want to join the shout box they are more than welcome to of course, but for most it's about not getting too involved with other fans' (even though we all support the same side) and supporting the side in their own way. As many have suggested, there is no possible way to "block" people in the SB although posts can be removed. If somebody is in the SB who is on your block/ignore list you will still see their messages. Of course when we're winning the SB can still be somewhat heated as many different people want to put their point across and some take to it better than others will, dependant on the situation at hand. Nobody is suggeating everyone in the SB all join hands and sing a song, but it's human nature to get irate when things go wrong and for maybe 65% of the members who never join the SB as regulars, they just do not want to deal with that side of the game. Everyone's voice is valid, everyone can have a view, but some people choose to express their own way, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Where was that? Where was the outrage? As far as I'm aware you don't live inside the head of @Jumbolina , so given I found the phrasing of his comment strange you are not in a position to answer on his behalf. Asking why one specific poster used specific wording is different from jumping in on a general discussion about football where different people can contribute their opinions.
Players demonstrating what graft, commitment, grit and determination can achieve, especially when that work gives the more gifted and creative individuals some time and space to hurt the opposition. Two goals from corners too. I thought I was in some sort of parallel universe when the second went in. Crucially, when Cardiff turned up the pressure in the last 15 minutes we stood firm. After matches like that it's easy to conclude that football is a simple game and that organisation and a plan go a long way to securing a good result.
It's dead easy this forum stuff.... They're all about "exchanging theories and opinions" on a subject matter, and can work great when people don't feel they are some form of Oracle that knows better all the time. Now we do have a few ITK people on here, loads like me pretty laid back, then a few that come across poorly and arrogant. Personally I just ignore 50pct of posts as I can see where they're going. I'm never ITK and get torn apart now and then, but I'm old enough and ugly enough not to give a fig. It would be nice if certain posters didn't always seem to want to get into a slanging match, or make posts that sound like they'd like to start most posts with "look you to££er......."
Surely the point of a forum is for those who have contrary views to come together and discuss. football isn’t important enough in my world to let it get personal

Indeed. A player who has only occasionally turned it on over 3 years - if his value soars, we should cash in and reinvest.
Potentially he has it in him, however we don't see enough of it, he seemed to be double marked yesterday, which helps the others, however for 30m we could have got a Natham Redmond in his prime and a decent central defender!
Three in a row is great, but let's get real here, lu*on, Wigan and Cardiff are absolutely sh*te at the moment. I'd expect most League 1 teams to give them a decent game. Signs of improvement are definitely there but our team is full of bang average players and in my opinion automatic promotion is laughable. Coventry at the weekend will be a good test due to their form.
Sure, but I have seen clubs timewaste from the 25th min and they never add that much time on. It is time timekeeping is taken out of referees hands. Too many of them blow up early because they're keen to get home (unless Burnley are playing and aren't winning).
It went Pozzo is vile, Sarr isn't worth £30m (£28m), Edwards and Manaj are awful, Bilic is looking good, shoutbox is toxic. Anything else I can help you with ?
This league is wall to wall bang average players. Difference is we have a few very good players. There's a very good chance that we will be sitting 2nd going in to the World Cup
