You say he's an above average championship player. Well, we are in the championship lol.
Its good that you think he should be starting.
His criminal lack of use isn't correct as you can see from my post.
His price tag and present market value is another topic of conversation.
I was showing he has been important for us so far when fit and broken it down for everyone's viewing pleasure :)

If by 'them', we mean wingers who relatively regularly feature in the Premier League with no chance of bothering any of the top 6-8's recruitment departments, and probably find themselves somewhat in and out of the starting lineup based on mercurial periods of form, then yes, absolutely.

(*Disclaimer - as it stands, based on all we have ever seen from him to date as a soon to be 25-year-old in his 7th full season of senior football.

I mean that he has the ability, which he has shown occasionally, to be as good as most wide players.
But we can agree that his lack of consistency is frustrating for everyone

Poor tonight with a couple of good moments thrown in. I'd be tempted to go with Kalu vs Millwall.

I thought he was really good, granted, he always turns up against them, but still, it wasn't just winning the penalty, the assist, and the cross for the second, he genuinely bothered them all game. Probably not a coincidence that it was on the left side where he plays for Senegal...

Good first half but did seem to fade out of it a bit or get lazy .

The performance last night shows what he *can* do when he turns it on over 90 minutes. Hopefully it is the start of many more and not just another rare glimpse.

Nice to see him start on the left. Bilics comments about him were really interesting after the game.

Tbf he turned it on over about 40 minutes but it was more than normal and enough to secure a big win.

Sickening to think how many games he's coasted through to see us lose or draw when we could have won if he'd bothered to try close to his maximum

Think you're putting him on a very high pedestal there moog. So if Sarr is arsed, we win every game? I think that's a case of his price leading fans to believe he's a world beater, because our club never spend that money on a player, so he must be immortal!!

I acknowledge there has been games where he's not reached the heights we all have for a player that cost as much for our club, but I'd bet there's a few more logical reasons (farcical number of head coach changes, relegations, below par squads he's been a part of) that explain dips in form/confidence other than simply him not being interested.

I disagree. I've seen match after match of him taking the easy option, hiding, not using his pace, not making things happen.

Only he knows how much of that is effort, but it certainly looks like a player who can only be arsed once in a blue moon.

The thing that people don’t appreciate about this is yes, sometimes he might get a goal or an assist in a game, but if he’s utterly anonymous for the other 95% of the time and refuses to use his one attribute, how many times does that actually cost us a win? It’s all very well popping up with a goal or an assist, but if you provide next to nothing for the opposition to worry about the rest of the game, how much does that cost us at the other end?

If you had a solid 7/10 every game player in his position instead, they might not score or assist as much but they might also provide the opposition more to think about across an entire game and give us more balance.

Instead with Sarr you get an 8 or 9 out of 10, followed by 5 or 6 3 out of 10s, in which he might still score the odd goal, but do absolutely nothing else. Unless you’re playing the old fashioned goal hanging number 9 position then there is much more to football than just popping up with the odd goal and doing nothing else. You need to constantly give the opposition something to worry about to affect what happens at the other end of the pitch too, and how they themselves have to play. The work ethic of your entire midfield is vital to the overall result.

Of course the results only crew will only every look at the stats column and ignore the fact a game of football lasts 90 minutes.

Of course we all hope this time is the time he kicks on and we get several 8 or 9 out of 10 performances in row, but the fact you can so easily name Liverpool and Villa as standout performances, performances that were literally years ago, show how it’s just never ever been the case in 3.5 years.

As long as he keeps up his goals per game and assists per game stats, he will remain a key player for us this season. Yes it's frustrating he can't perform at his most effective 90 mins every game but that's why he probably won't ever play for a top 6 side. That £30m/£26m could have been better spent but that's not his fault. He's still a great player through and it's great watching him esp in those match defining moments.

If every opposition player this season simply 'gave us something to think about' rather than 'actually scoring goals', we'd probably be top of the league right now.

He did what everyone wants him to do against Norwich. Just use his pace and deliver the ball. Hopefully he stays out on the left because he looked like he could make things happen for the majority of the game.

In the modern game, if he’s a passenger the rest of the time then his net contribution will still be negative. It’s a team game and how well your defence does is linked to so many other things. As I said above, he’s not a goal hanging number 9.

Yes if he was a passenger and literally did nothing else. I wish he would take his opponent on more often but I don't him ducking out on his defensive duties.

On paper agreed. He's one of the most frustrating players for me because we all know his capabilities. Maybe the move to the left unleashes something in him, maybe Slav is the kind of coach he needs.
Yes all ifs and buts I know but maybe he's been crying out to play wide left and that simple change and confidence boost kicks in to some consistent displays.

Not sure about this. That mental French skiing bloke on here said that the Nigerian football forum he’s on has rumors about Kalu being 38. There were also similar rumors on French AND Belgian footy forums he’s on.

Great talent but will never play at a high level because he plays every game as if he's having a kick about in the park.

    Got no character about him.

Not his best game yesterday, despite the late goal against an utterly shell-shocked and demoralised :)D) L*ton team, but still, he played a part in the first, and I think his presence on the left drifting inside does allow Kamara more freedom to do his thing

Sarr all over the club video content right now.

Comes across as pretty adorable. The lazy/uncommitted Sarr narrative now officially lies in tatters.

He's just a little but meek, but has an excellent attitude nonetheless.

I'm less than a decade older than him, but I want to adopt him as my son.

I think the thing about Sarr is that personality wise he's very shy despite the skill and athleticism he possesses, I also think that he probably feels comfortable at a club like ours whereas he may struggle even more at a place like Newcastle unless he gets a significant amount of personal support from within.

I agree which may explain his undue loyalty to our rancid football club. He describe the club as a 'second family' so we are obviously doing a lot to support the boy.

Isn't it Sarr who doesn't have an agent or am I thinking of someone else?
