Atrocious performance but a game I genuinely think we would have lost a few weeks back. Happy with the 3 points and two wins on the spin but we need to be miles better than that we were very lucky that Wigan are crap. I think The Latics must be the worst side I have watched us play this season.

Huge win for our season. Well done JP!! 2 in 2. Still 4 of the bottom 8 to play and only 1 team in the top 12 we've yet to meet. If we can get some consistency together we're definitely in with a shout.

Watched that on a river from about 55 minutes and honestly apart from a Bachmann flap and then hitting the bar at the end, Wigan had no chance of scoring. They’re lucky we weren’t decisive in the final third and can’t pass that well. Those Wigan commentators were living in their own little Wigan world bless ‘em.

A clean sheet and grabbing the win on the road.

Excellent and much needed after recent away games.

Was a vital win against the team with the worst home record in the league. It would have been a huge disappointment had we not won today. Only two shots on target, but fortunately one of those goes in. A very good header to win it.

This puts us on the fringes in 7th place, but if we win our game-in-hand then we'll be 5th and in the mix.

That's 3 wins out of 4 for Bilic, so he's now having an impact. Looking at the next 4 fixtures, and I expect us to win them all. Whether we will or not is yet to be seen, but we could be in a good place come the World Cup break.

We're now above Luton, so Nathan Jones' comments we would swap places with them in a heartbeat didn't last too long.

A proper Championship game that. Boring, dull with hardly any goal action bar Sarr who should of scored in the first half and Bachmann almost landed in the net. Nice finish from JP for the winner, Bayo did quite well today but Sema looked a bit off from his recent performances. Thought Gosling was solid throughout and despite a few scares towards the start of the game we never really looked in danger as Wigan clearly came for a point. It's been a long time since we won back to back games - April 2021. Two clean sheets off the back of that nightmare game at Millwall.

Off to Wales next with a tough game at Cardiff - a side we smashed 5-1 once in the PL. Different proposition this time though. Overall I think we shaded it and just about deserved it but for long periods of the game we looked like reverting to type and just playing the clock out, but fair play we did go for it and got that goal at a crucial time. Still not convincing enough for us to be conpeteing for the top two, but we look like we could challenge the playoffs. Nice to win on the road again, and not concede. Do feel sorry for the Wigan fans who prefer the football to the Rugby. Very strange atmosphere. Onwards and upwards.

Kalus work to win the corner for our winner was outstanding and Asprillas second delivery was great. JP deserved his goal

Apart from the first 15 mins when they didnt really get a shot in I thought we did well and they didnt really bother us. Wigan defended well for the most part.

Two wins from two, win the next one and we have a bit of momentum which is like gold dust in this league.

    Pozzo out.

I think he was just starstruck by the fact some of our players were playing in the Premier League last season - they certainly mentioned it enough times!

Hooray we are now above Imodium Town. Their only retort now invalid.

What a sh1te game but a ground out back-2-back win is what it says on the tin. Is that enough cliches?

Awful game to watch, no one really deserved to win but think we shaded it, just.

Kalu did more in 10 minutes than Sema/Sarr did throughout. Play him regularly.

Bayo I think has been pigeonholed as a 6 yard box poacher, but showed he's capable of some decent link up play when he's got bodies around him. When he became more isolated he wasn't able to hold up the ball as effectively as Bayo.

Thought Sierralta's aerial presence was important, but he looks more cumbersome than he used to, getting twisted up by some bog standard Championship forwards.

Teams are targeting Bachmann's weakness on every set piece, would like to see Okoye given a go.

Big three points, and back within touching distance of the top sides. Quite a favourable 4 games coming up before the break (Cardiff, Cov, Reading, B.City). Take 9ish points from that and we should be in a good place for the second part of the season.

Crap performance but a bit of quality wins it for us. Just like most games two seasons ago.

Didn't watch the game, but I have been impressed by Kalu's cameos, I wonder if Bilic will be brave enough to drop Sema (or more pertinently, Sarr) for him one day. Sierralta I think was flattered massively by his half-season two years ago, an aerial beast which is an asset at this level but is cumbersome. Don't think Okoye will improve us much as he's supposedly also very nervy from crosses, and also not very good with the ball at his feet.

Glad we backed up a big win with another 3 points for a change! Let this be the catalyst now rather than another false dawn!

When was the last time we put two wins together? Must have been at the back end of the last promotion season?

I think some of you are being a bit unfair. I found it a moderately interesting game. Not a hugely memorable one, but both teams played their part in a game that was end to end quite a lot of the time. Very different styles to the two teams - Wigan very much the Northern Championship type, Watford trying to walk it in; but both teams were similar in missing that perfect final ball or finish.
Sarr, as has been pointed out, went missing again. But he did have two glorious chances: To be fair the early block by the keeper and the late block by the defender were both first class.

Decent 3 points given that we didn't play that well and had to grind it out. Would agree with the poster above that it was the sort of game We would have lost a couple of weeks ago. We were slow to get going but the better team second half.

Bayo' s a funny player. He gets in good positions and can link the play well but he's also easily out muscled at times, often behind the play, isnt particularly good in the air and can move so slowly you could easily be mistaken for thinking your rivers buffering.

Kalu is showing some promise and is willing to take a player on which is something sema/sarr dont do often enough

Barely a sound from the Wigan fans. Performance was ok in parts but felt lacklustre.

Their fans were silent throughout, and i guess the empty seats shows it is still a rugby league town first.

Expected them to nick an unfair winner, felt we deserved it though we made hard work of it

Didn't follow the game at all apart from the score update right near the end, so thanks for this assessment.

On a more exciting note, I bought an air fryer. Doing breaded chicken wings in one drawer and chips in the other. Can't wait to see how this turns out!

One of those very satisfying away results, after an average game and mixed performance. Positives are 3 points, clean sheet (Bachmann still scares the **** out of me), late winner, Kalu looking like a possible option, Davis back for next game.

It was a far less inspiring performance than the last game, but we got the job done. I can’t help feeling Sarr is at 50% effort levels and is protecting himself for the upcoming festival of corruption.

I could not pick out one of the Wigan players that I would like to see in our squad. Their goalie looked ok and Keane had some nice touches, but after that, they were poor. In fairness to them they started the game well and hit the ******* bar with the last play. Real championship stuff.

Need to push on for the next four games and then settle down for a 2nd preseason, where Bilic can get some of his ideas implemented. Need a midfield link player in on loan.

No, indeed, I didn't mean to give that impression. But they were a very prosaic team. I thought they gave Watford a game.

The sort of game where, if we don’t score that late goal, everyone’s probably on a downer again after a middling performance

However… we did! Back to back wins and clean sheets. Fair play to them for digging it out

Kalu was very good and arguably the catalyst for the win. Should start ahead of Sema for the next few if he’s fit enough

Bayo missed his chance to stake a claim today, pretty useless again and further proof we’ll struggle if we can’t keep Davis fit

If there's anything that sums up Bayo it's the end of the Millwall game, got into a fantastic position at the very end of the game, but absolutely fluffed the header, apart from his volley against Rotherham, his other goals have been very much 'striker's goals' from close range, and I think that's where most of his goals will come from
