I love the fact everyone still trumpets him as a Mogi “hit” even though he didn’t contribute for his first 6 months, has now had 2 serious injuries and has a long ban hanging over him. Cracking use of £10m.
It's alright guys, Pozzo has packed the midfield with quality so we won't miss Louza that much. It's not like we'll have to rely on an 18 year old kid as the only one in there who can pass and move.
Also just confirmed by the player himself. I didn't really see what happened, does it look like his knee again?
Did hi roll it? There does seem to be some link in getting additional injuries after knee injuries. Personally whilst not a professional footballer I had major knee surgery in 2015 (in fact still on going with my 7th surgery due in December!) And shortly after coming back from this I ended up rupturing my achilles tendon.
Slid to block a cross and in doing that his standing foot studs stuck in the turf and then through the slide it looked like the ankle was bent backwards a fair bit under him. He immediately signalled he was hurt.
Not good At least we've got a we'll equipped midfield full of creative players . . Oh wait . . Making the decisions to sell Zinc and load out Quina even more crazy
He was crying when he finally got stretchered off right in front of us . Hopefully only a rolled ankle which is far quicker recovery than hamstring etc . Suffered a few myself , painful but reasonably quick to recover from . If he comes back after World Cup it’s no different to him getting a 6 game ban for spitting really . Can we muster enough point in next 4 weeks to still be in with a shout . Probably not but maybe .
Season over. Good player but not made for English footie. Will probably be off to Udinese next season
...and to think a week ago we were in shock about the prospect of him missing a couple of games. This season just gets better and better doesn't it.
Wasn’t played for six months. Clearly good enough. Certainly the injuries cannot be blamed on Bayat. Not sure when spending money on a player how you predict two reasonably serious injury. I imagine it’s Pozzos fault as well
He’s had 2 bad injuries and played 20 games in English football. Coincidence? Just not sure he has the physicality for English football
I genuinely cannot wait to see what unfit dross we bring in to replace Louza. Sanchez and Lazaar two seasons ago and then Nkoulou last season. What other club has to scramble around in the free transfer market three seasons in a row? It's almost as if we keep renewing the contracts of old and injury prone players who miss a ridiculous amount of games.
It used the vast majority of our budget at the time on a luxury development player from his mate Bayat, so yes the incompetent Pozzo’s fault. He couldn’t contribute for 6 months under two managers as he was too lightweight and then suffered serious injuries thereafter so quite possible he isn’t up to the physicality of the English game. Nice player to watch when fit. Poor, poor signing.
