He had a decent game, but I thought it seemed more likely he was going for goal himself but was off-balance.
Good positive performance. Defence looked much better and we attacked with some purpose . Understandably came under a lot of pressure but dealt with it well. Hopefully Louza doesn’t get that ban !
Completely agree and this narrative that ‘Sarr can’t be bothered’ is just another bandwagon for people to jump on. His mental toughness hasn’t always been there, and his confidence and consistency is up and down. Unforgivable for a young player who the crowd expect to score or assist every time he touches the ball.
Agreed on almost all counts, I thought Davis was pretty passive today despite the goal, but he's been good for us so far overall
Yeah I thought the same - Louza or possible Choudhury should have taken one for the team on that break-away.
An actual decent game of football from both teams, what a pleasure. First half especially, no one throwing themselves to the floor under the slightest pressure, trying to hold people off instead, carrying the ball, allowing a proper game of football to break out. And even better that we won it!
His heroics early on were never sustainable, but his normal criticisms are re-emerging once more, I'd drop him for Okoye soon.
Good win and a good performance I can’t bring myself to care too much until we start stringing together some results however. Far too many false dawns already
Also, it was Phelps' 10 year adoption anniversary yesterday and happily ticked over 12.5 years old! Happy WatDog.
For all his faults, Bachmann is the better with the ball at his feet, and that's something both managers have put quite a lot of importance on this season
Aye, case in point that awful Gosling pass on his weaker foot. Although Okoye fan handle a crowded box better and I think he's a marginally better shot stopper on average (Unlike Pantillimon he can use his frame effectively) there is a stark difference in their footwork.
The first 30 minutes was the best we’ve played all season. It was dominant against a quality opposition. Even though we’re sh1t, we’ve beaten the top three this season. We now we have a chance this week to close the gap at the top. Win the next two and we’ll be right up there I suspect. That first goal was a great team goal. The intensity in the first half was great. We looked so much better without Kabs in the team. WTE had no poor moments. Cathcart was his usual reliable self. Only real moan was Bachmann’s refusal to come for any high ball. It’s a huge problem. All those corners and he only came for it once. We got lucky when they hit the bar because he didn’t come for a ball he easily have taken. Gosling isn’t great defending 1 v 1 but Bilic helped him by putting Sema in there to double up. I liked what Bilic did there. Switching Sarr and Sema. It threw Norwich. No way would they have expected that. Thought the midfield looked so much better without Kayembe. Another good call by Bilic. Davis isn’t at his best yet, but is scoring goals. I think there’s a lot more to come from him. Asprilla is a real gem. That first half was his best in a Watford shirt. He was awesome. Great to see Pedro back too. Louza. What a player.
Maybe it’s instruction from Bilic but two or three times just hoofed it straight back to Norwich when we could do with relieving pressure. Awful kicking.
Cathcart was good. Sarr was as good as we know he can be. Louza was so so so good, clearly too good for this league. Oh and a word for the ref, he was good. A good evening’s work.
Didn't watch Bilic's reactions from the sidelines, but judging by Stoke away, I doubt Bilic would have told Bachmann to hoof it long!
Sarr cutting in from the left looks lively but Ken Sema on the right was equally impressive. Outstanding team performance and a positive atmosphere in the stands. Norwich looked very ordinary
I was out at the theatre with David Tennant. Saw the score afterwards. What in the wide wide world happened out there tonight?!?!
Great first half. I felt Davies stopped working toward the end of the second half. Gunn fumbled the ball at one point and failed to get both hands on it and Davies just stood there watching. I’d have liked to see Bayo come on for him for the last twenty minutes. I’ve no doubt he’d have pounced on the loose ball.
Good win although part of me was looking forward to us losing so we could see forum members offer each other out in a fight again.
Davis is possibly still not fully fit after his injury. Guessing Bilic isn't super confident in Bayo or he might have come on.
