    I don't know,I didn't see either match.
It just seems a risk, albeit an understandable one to put in a bloke who hadn't played for two plus weeks as opposed to a guy who reached a final.
Perhaps they didn't gell as a partnership,no reason why they should.

Into a deciding double match v Kazakhstan.

Finally playing a natural doubles pairing though so hopefully can avoid defeat.

Not sure if they sill have the promotion/relegation system?

Would be quite awkward to go down given the talent in both disciplines we have now.

    But typically British!

We won the DC last time because of Murray Minimus.
He played two singles and a doubles and was world number 1 or close to it.
Plus Roger,Rafa and Novak rarely played once they'd won the competition.
I do not like the new format and its place in the calendar but GB have no one to blame but themselves.
Evans should have beaten Paul and Norrie was poor against Hertz Van Car Rental so Mr IBB tells me.
Smith's reluctance to play Skupski with Salisbury is understandable in the wider context but Salisbury had a horror show v the Netherlands and Kool and the Gang are a decent pair,to say the least.

So the Laver Cup begins tomorrow.
A glorified exhibition but of interest this year as the swan song to Switzerland's finest.

Probably a higher excitement level than Hobblesdon Finals Day, although the club email announced the boys singles is starting at 12.30am!
This proving beyond all doubt that nobody proof reads anything today.
When is it acceptable to chair a meeting when you know you have Covid and your wife, also participating, hasn't even taken a test?
Extraordinary behaviour from a former president, who also attended The Championships when positive and infected five members of staff in the LTA office.

Think of the stewards at Watford,do they ever strike you as on the ball?!

On the whole Murray would have been better off playing in Milan and England playing ADM!

Federer looks exactly what he is,a 41 year old man who hasn't played a match for over a year.

    Probably shouldn't have played.

Didn't think he did that badly at all, all things considered! Thought Nadal looked every bit as rusty, if not more so.

Anyway, I'd be lying if I didn't say I just balled up watching that. Comfortably my favourite sportsman of all time. Very sad to see him finally go. One of those weird things it felt like would never actually happen.

A sentimental pairing,Rafa is clearly not fit and probably will be hanging up his Aero very soon.
Extraordinary get from Sock and the Americans deserved to win.
Playing the three geriatrics has put Europe in a pickle.

I notice they won the first set but guess the eventual happened and age /lack of matches told .

    Both very emotional here .

    Unfortunate for Radacanu.

Took the first set in her semi final but then suffered an injury in the decider when she was 3-0 down so obviously was affecting her game .

I'm afraid it's a case of another week, another injury for ER.
Evans loses in San Diego to Giron.
Djokovic in superlative form last night.
Destroyed Tiafoe and then teamed up with Berrettini to beat ADM ( aged 8 and a half) and Sock.
He spoke very well after both singles and doubles.
Europe 8-4 up and Murray and Berrettini start first against FAA and Sock.

    Deeply unpleasant man BM.
He shared a table in the Queen's cafeteria with some of us once.
I've seen crab dressed better than he was and repugnant views.
His sister was rather pleasant I recall.

Both lacking in matches and sharpness.
RF also took a couple of shots from Rafa's racket, which he missed, when Rafa was much better placed.
They seemed happy enough though, post match lacrimation notwithstanding!

    World team win Laver Cup.

Quite a comeback on day 3.

    World won all 3 games.

Felix Auger-Aliassime beating Djokovic and Tsitsipas losing from set up against Tiafoe.

Too many of Team Europe injured or shouldn't have played. Sentimental choices for Rafa,Roger and Murray.
    Brits 0/3.
ND bound to have had a come down having not played since AE.
Others lost in Championship Tie Breaks.
Saw the end of Tsitsipas and he certainly choked on three of his mps, shanking backhands and playing an ill advised drop shot.
I don't like the way Tiafoe over celebrates,as if he's won the Grand Slam on every point.
However as Tennis Dave has just said "He is American!"

I think he had match point in the 2nd set tie break too.

Yes I can just image the American/World celebrations.

    Whopping and yelling.

He did, that's when he shanked the backhands.
    I don't know why I'm so bothered.

    Exciting new quiz for you.

How long will it take my hapless goon of a so called coach, who doubles up as an almost as hapless groundsman,to remove the umpire's chair ( used for one match ) last Saturday?

    Is it;

    A) By Christmas.

    B) By 2025.

    C) Not until some poor sod either runs into it or the horizontal bar falls down completely and smacks someone on the head or decapitates them.

Tsitsi defeats Ruble in the first semi final.
I only saw the last four games but Tsitsipas hit one backhand that had both topspin and side spin on it!
Wasn't especially hard or deep but took a dog leg and Ruble dumped it into the net.
    Extraordinary.

Three ATP events this week,Naples where Berrettini is top seed, Stockholm where Tsitsi is and Antwerp?

Hazelwood 40s defeat Roehampton in a close semi final at the Roehampton Club on Saturday 3pm.

Roehampton had Olivia Fery, former top 300 and Arthur Fery's mum ( husband owns Lyon FC or another Ligue 1 side). Karen Cross former GB number 1 also played.

Very nice team and a decent tea although no chips this time as we had in April in the National Premier League match.

We play St George's Hill in the 50s semi final, November 5.

Meanwhile the umpire's chair remains in place at Hoddesdon, quietly rotting away and endangering life and multiple little mounds of fox poo populate court 6.

The "groundsman" was not available for comment as he was ****ing about wandering into town.
