Enough of this rubbish. It has been unacceptable for over 3 seasons now ..... I cant remember a good performance for that long - not even when we got promoted did we ever play particularly well. Stop wth all this claptrap because I am not buying it. Find some balls, find some fight and some passion..... find some god damn pride. Show us on the grass not with a load of soundbites afterwards. This has gone on too long its not like its a bad patch this is rife throughout the team - a group of players who cant put the effort in. ..... If Kabasele cant be arsed sell him, If Sarr doesn't want to get a sweat on and battle, sell him. We have no character in the team that I can see and as a result we wont get anywhere and Bilic has no chance. Get on with it, put a shift in, run hard, battle and compete - then if we lose at least we bloody well tried !!!
I agree with the statement and nothing you said there is untrue. However with this squad it is like banging your head against a brick wall. If our best players put in a shift we have a good chance of winning, if they don't or are injured we will draw or most likely lose. We have no backup eleven to speak of, or any backup that is capable of starting a winning run. This is only part of the problem though as older players' just don't give crap anymore. They are setup for life financially now, so why bother trying? I personally feel their passion when they pull on the shirt is gone and it's just like a regular 9-5 job where they slog through and pick up a nice wage then rinse and repeat. I do not think one squad member, maybe apart from Sema, really tries and battles. Sema is another one who should not be here but for all his limitations he does battle and get stuck in. Every transfer window we fill our squad with free or cheap players who are either half way through their careers or at the end of it. They have no passion for our cause, they may put in the odd good game now and then but only when it interests them. Managers come and go in this club like a roundabout and they know this, so whatever is said is just in one ear and out the other. It's harsh but that is where we are right now, and have been for the past three seasons. We have two seasons to get promoted or face possible financial ruin which could lead to Aministration, points deductions and even liquidation of the clubs assetts. One of the main reasons this is looming over us is because of the lazy and inept way the club has been taken by an owner and his stooge Duxbury who treat the club as a second class citizen to Udinese now. They sold off Granada - and I really wish they would see us off too to a group of investors who will take us forward and drive us a club again.
Talk is and ever was cheap RM. Weasel words to placate the disenchanted and disgruntled. Nothing will change until Pozzo leaves.
I give Sema a lot of sh!t but fair play to him he works his balls off every game and has been good for us this season. Clearly the Championship is the ceiling for his ability but we'd be a better team if everyone put in his effort every game. I understand he's quite a shy bloke and doesn't seem much of a talker, otherwise I'd honestly consider making him captain. I haven't been drinking, honest.
It's a fair assessment. You certainly would never see him do what Kabasele did for their second goal. Hope he's fit for our next game which is not something I thought I would ever say
Speaking of Mirrors, Gino Pozzo strikes me as a late Robert Maxwell figure. Hopefully our emotional invest in the club isn't akin to the pension holders....
Similarities: Interfering/micromanaging people who work for them, making rash decisions, financial mismanagement/irregularities, having people snitch upwards. Differences: Gino Pozzo has had an easy life, Gino Pozzo isn't that wealthy, Gino doesn't like the limelight and definitely isn't a spy for Mossad.
Add Maxwell's desire to be the centre of attention while Pozzo prefers to keep a low profile to the list of differences
I often mention RM's aid who was asked of his mood before he went overboard. She replied "buoyant!" Superb.
Problem is our best player is Pedro who tries to do it all on his own and then gets frustrated too quickly. Our next best player isn't even our player anymore thanks to Gino. Our most expensive player decided to stay rather than move on and as a result has really hampered us for cash. Now he can't even be bothered to put a proper shift in... The defence is a shambles. Having to hope Cathcart recovers from injury sums it all up really. Good player but way past it for regular Championship football now.
the problem is the list of players Gino has bought in on the other chat the problem is the cost of that list of players and our now uncontrollable debt situation the problem is, even in the good times, the owners didn’t give a monkeys about the fans. And now, in the bad times, the fans don’t give a monkeys about the owners
