Really? Who bought into the "strongest squad" chat. Many fans were concerned that we would be too weak for the Championship and this has turned out to be true We are far closer to getting relegated than gaining promotion. Kabasele just gave up today, almost like the time at Bournemouth away. Just gave up. That was disgraceful. It was not a mistake made, he just wasn't bothered. Iif you are not interested then just got off the pitch and leave the club. Sorry, but you must have rose tinted glasses on.
I’m not sure what’s more embarrassing, the state of our club or two people offering each other out for a fight over some forum posts.
Just watched the goals, I’ve never seen a player give up like Kabasele did for their 2nd, absolutely bizarre.
Oh dear, oh dear, you had to let yourself down. Just when l thought we had reached an agreement. You must have something to say about the club and its current mess, on and off the field. So let us all know which side of the fence you sit on.
It's hard to express what the journey was like watching it happen in real time, but I suppose it was some confluence of mild surprise quickly turning into indignation and bewilderment in equal measure. You could almost see what happened unfold in slow motion before it did, whilst also being stuck a half second before the action began, as your brain, utterly baffled, tried to make any sense of him just literally choosing not to even bother attempting to carry out his primary function and in any way attempt to stop the opposition attacker from getting closer to our goal and in a better position to deliver a threatening cross.
You cannot possibly not be trolling in making this kind of ludicrous request/claim that there is any doubt where Burnsy falls on the anti-Pozzo spectrum, or, indeed, pretending that he has done anything other than opine at enormous and consistent length about the club and its current mess.
Also, pretty sure Sema was concussed after that hefty clash of heads with Kabasele but we made him play on until half time. Goooooo Hornets!
A bad day at the office for the team and the second half was mostly awful. I've said all along that Kabasele should not start. I hope Sierralta and Cathcart start soon as a central 2 and Gasper back at RB asap. Attacking wise it was all played in front of them most of the time, and not enough creativity. A glimmer of hope is to say that we were missing our 'better back 4' plus Pedro. And we lost our player of the season thus far Sema second half at 1-1. A fully fit 11 and we look like we can get positive results, but freshen things up like Bilic did yesterday, either by choice or by injury forced, and we don't seem to have the squad depth and desire to win matches. Despite yesterday's disappointment, Sheff Utd and Norwich dropped points and a playoff spot is still within reach, we just need some first team players back asap to stay in touch. And Slaven, if you are reading this, keep Kabasele away from the first 11 as much as possible please. Thanks.
You're right 100% right about Kabasele, yesterday really was a insult to the club from him, I'd suggest he's been at fault for every goal we've conceded this season when he's been on the pitch - whether it be missing headers, not tracking runners, standing off players inviting them to shoot or like the second yesterday simply just giving up. I don't say it lightly but he really is disgraceful and a huge indictment of the way Pozzo has approached recruitment. With regard to the other bit about having a fully fit squad, here I can't agree. This team is sh1te. On paper you look at Pedro, Sarr, Louza, Kamara and that's where the misconception that we're good, but truly we've seen 4 coaches fail and not once this season have we seen a consistent performance (Stoke as an anomaly was based on how poor Stoke were). We have players that have no consistency of performance, no fight and truly no desire to be here at the club. This again is a reflection of the chaos and toxic culture that Gino has created within the club. I've said it early in this thread, but there is nothing, not one thing that leads me to believe this team can achieve anything better than lower mid table, and if in January the likes of Pedro, Sarr, Louza, Kamara (despite them being just as culpable in the trash we're seeing) all want out, then we need to be looking to simply stay away from the bottom 3.
What an absolute joke of a club we are, Duxbury’s man gets sh!t canned after 10 games, Gino has to then step in and appoint his man, who promptly ends up worse and loses 2/3 games. What an absolutely hideous joke of a club.
I've just seen Blackpool's second goal, what is Kabasale thinking? I really hope other Watford players got into him after that, I'd be absolutely livid if my fullback / fellow centreback did that to me as CB. I can live with the likes of Troost Ekong being outwitted for the 3rd, but to just not bother even trying to track an attacking player like Kabasale did should be so wholly unacceptable not just to the management, but also his team mates. We desperately need some players on the pitch who will hold others accountable and force them to raise their standards, there are far too many shirking their responsibilities at the moment.
We've not had Sema Pedro Sarr Louza Choudhury Davies available at the same time tbf. We were decent against Sheff Utd as well i thought not just the Stoke game. And occasional good spells of play in others. But too sloppy and lazy at the back and some poor starts in a fair number of games. I don't expect us to dominate a game for 90 minutes i just want us to be more solid and clued up when the opposition has it. And when we win and play well i usually concentrate on us rather than say the opposition were ****. Most Blackpool fans will think they're team did well yesterday rather than worry what we did.
Funny how going to the game sometimes gives such an incomplete picture of the match and its surroundings. I didn’t see the Watford fans fighting among themselves. And in real time I didn’t realise just how bad Kabasele’s lack of effort was because from where I was it looked like we had cover. On the TV pictures it just looks like we collectively surrendered and stopped worrying about where the Blackpool players were or what they were doing. Useless.
Hedge fund manager, not all hedge funds are run by bad people but a lot of them are, I will have to have a dig into what they do and what stocks they "own".
Cue him on the team sheet as a starter on Saturday at 14.00pm. Only way around it is to start Morris or Pollock in his position, and after yesterday I would take that. I thought him sitting down on the pitch at Muff allowing them to equalise was his worst moment, but he topped that.
This is true, although I would caveat this and say I feel we've seen Sarr phone it in for the majority of his time at Watford. The fact that he's got so many goals and assists in that time is such a greater frustration as it proves that if he was more consistent he'd be unplayable.
I hereby challenge you to a dual by fisticuffs in queen's car park at dawn. Winner gets sole use of the aerial image of the Vic as avatar. Loser gets a ticket to the next home game.
This is why he's still here. He is the 21st century equivalent to Mr IBB's definition of Jobi McAnuff " One good game, one average game, one bad game, repeat".
If I did that on a Wednesday night, playing with the dads in their 40s and 50s as a bit if an excuse for a run about and then a beer, I'd get laid into. Whatever level you're at, as a team sport, you don't let down your team mates like that. When you're a millionaire and have fans and a club relying on you for your job, it's unacceptable. If Kabasele starts the next game, I can see it being very nasty for him. He has been a popular character off the pitch, but this won't wash with our fans in this climate.
Listening to the DNSYE twitter space from last night - some very hurt, angry and upset people on there and I fully agree with them. A particularly passionate rant from Uncle Ron. If you’re reading this, there’s a beer waiting for you next time you’re over. The club, the powers that be and the players to a man don’t give a damn about us so it’s time we give them that back. I won’t be at the Norwich game but anyone who is going, PLEASE make your voices heard. Wave a hanky, make a banner, whatever you can do. We need to take our club back from these ****. Luton will be my first and only home game of the season. I don’t want to put my hard earned money into Gino’s pocket anymore. I’ve supported Watford for the better part of 25 years and I’m absolutely heartbroken by how the club is being ran. It’s such a shame.
Sierralta was thrown in for his first league start again Norwich a couple of years ago I think and did well. Throw Pollock in from the start next weekend and see what we get, it cannot be any worse than that performance from Kabasele yesterday. For a start Pollock actually heads the ball and doesn't duck under it.
Based on one game and the odd sub appearance? Bit harsh maybe. Got to give someone a go - they probably won’t be any worse .
